Chini Mosque is located in Saidpur city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur Division of Bangladesh. The mosque is also known as Glass Mosque. The construction of the mosque was started in 1863 by Haji Bakir Ali Ahmed and was completed within a year as a little prayer house. Later Wazir Ali Ahmed, a descendant of the founders family started the extension and modification work of this mosque. After that, in the middle of the 20th century the sons of the late Wazir Ali Ahmed, Mofizuddin Ahmed and Shafiuddin Ahmed (well known as cloth merchants) continued the beautification work of the mosque. At the time the ceramics pieces were brought from Kolkata as there was no ceramic factory in East Pakistan/Bengal (Present Bangladesh).

The mosque was built following the Mughal architectural style. Lots of marble stones are used to build the mosque. There are 26 minarets in the mosque. 3 big domes with 32 small minarets. The mosque has two floors. Above the entrance there is a pulpit for giving azan. The mosque has 243 Shankar marble stones. The porch of the mosque is covered with white mosaics. The whole structure of the mosque is wrapped in colored stones. The mosque was extended in two steps. The mosque has one door to the north and one to the south. There is a building on the second floor of the mosque with accommodation for tourists..

This is the most beautiful and historical place of saidpur. The construction of the mosque was started in 1863 by Haji bakir ali ahmed. They finished the construction within a few years. But right now they are increasing the number of floors above the mosque. At that time the ceramics were brought from kolkata as there were no factories in bangladesh. That is why this mosque is beautiful in all directions. In the day light the ceramics glow like light bulbs and at night the mosque is decorated by several colorful RGB lights all around the mosque. The space of the mosque is not big enough but the beauty can easily catch your mind. This is one of the most travel and visit destinations for all the tourists who visit saidpur. They are building the 2nd floor of the mosque but unfortunately they are not using the same ceramic as the old mosque had. They are now using broken ceramic pieces of various stuff like glasses, plates, mugs etc. They said it will take 3 to 4 months to complete the mosque. You must visit this place if you come here.

An ancient mosque built a century earlier. History of the mosque is older that 160 years. But initially this was not in this shape and design. Step by step it was fabricated to this shape and design. It has a fantastic design and look. It is one of the most visited places in Nilphamari.
