Aam Khas Bagh is a good place to visit as it shows our ancient civilization. The Aam Khas Bagh was constructed for the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The Aam Khas Bagh is located in Sirhind which is midway between Chandigarh and Ludhiana. Nice place to visit.

खंडहर बता रहे हैं, ईमारत बुलंद थी। A huge open space with full of history, peacocks 🦚, chirping birds, old monuments, big trees, walking tracks, ..... A restaurant is also there. If you are in Sirhind Fatehgarh Sahib, have a brisk walk in it early in the morning and enjoy walking with history and nature. I went there with friends on cycle from Chandigarh . To and fro 90 KM ride 🚴🏿‍♂️ 🚴🚴🏿‍♂️.

It is one of the most visible reminders of Sirhind’s glorious past. This Mughal garden, located on Bassi Road of Sirhind, is open to the public and is owned and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. The area is Huge. The place is very serene and peaceful you can enjoy the chirping of different birds in the background. Aam Khas Bagh translates to the Garden of the Ordinary (Aam) and privileged (Khas). The present-day Aam Khas Bagh comprises of the remnants of a highway inn that was constructed for the use of royals as well as the ordinary people. A tourist complex called Maulasari is being run on the grounds of Aam Khas Bagh at present times. I'm taking one star back because The garden and nursery are not well maintained, though many workers have started working on the cleaning process. There are various Mughal era monuments in the vicinity of this garden that promote it as a tourist destination. Visitors can take a walk through the ruins and marvel at the engineering skills of a bygone era.

Used to be great place for outing. Things have deteriorated over the years. A new restaurant being built. I hope Tourism department takes some corrective actions at the earliest to revive it. Nostalgic place for me. Spent around 4 years in this city.

The Aam Khas Bagh is a small remaining portion of the famous Mughal king Babur’s highway inn. In the coming years, its renovation was done by Shah Jahan because many royal people lived here on the way towards Lahore. He even built an air conditioning room named SaradKhana in the Aam Khas Bagh, which attracts many historians.

Nyc visit Aam Khas Bagh is the remains of a highway-inn constructed for the use of royalty as well as common people. It was divided into two parts - the Aam for public use and the Khas for private use by the Royalty. This Royal inn was initially built by Akbar and planned by Mughal architect Hafiz Rakhna. It was rebuilt by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan along the Mughal military road between Delhi and Lahore. The Royal couple used to stay here in the old building complex while going to and coming back from Lahore

As the name suggests , the mango orchard in Sirhind has historical buildings inside and it's a good place to get a sunset view. Peacocks are walking freely through the garden.

How to Reach Aam Khas Bagh Aam Khas Bagh is located in the centre of Sirhind. Local buses and auto rickshaws are available to commute to the Garden. You can also consider hiring a private taxi. Aam Khas Bagh -Entry and Timings The entry to the Aam Khas Bagh is free. Aam Khas Bagh is open from 6 AM to 7 PM on all days except Monday. The park remains closed on all Mondays. The Aam Khas Bagh was believed to have been originally constructed by the Mughal emperor Akbar as a resting place or holiday inn. Mughal emperor Shah Jahan later rebuilt it. There were numerous palaces nearby, built to make the stay comfortable for Mughal rulers. The walled garden was divided into two parts - Aam for the use of public and Khas for Royalty. The palace compounds had a set of fountains, and the orchard was spread over 11 acres of land.

One of the main historical attractions of Sirhind. This is a large Mughal Garden. Nice place to visit with your family, especially if you enjoy visiting historical places.

Good initiative by the owner/ leasee of the place. Sumptuous food, graceful sitting arrangement and flawless service at the most cost effective rates.

Calm and peaceful place. The historical monument is in ruins though.

  • 3/5 Gurjeet K. 7 months ago on Google
It is a great place to visit but you will get bore quickly because there is nothing more to see apart from the garden and building. The restaurant nearby is costly. There is no washroom or coffee/tea house to sit and relax.

It's an important historical place of Akbar's time. Wish it was maintained better.

  • 4/5 Dr Tarvinderjit K. 4 years ago on Google
First built by Akbar, additions were made by Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Originally the garden was spread in an area of a mile and a half and was divided into parts AAM (public) and KHAS (private of the Emperor use). Rare plants of the Mughal period are still extant here. Originally irrigated by the now dried up, rivulet Sirhind, the garden has a cluster of buildings including a Sard Khana (air-conditioned rooms). The repair work is going on likely to be completed in few months.

Knowing that millions of people around the world would be watching in person and on television and expecting great things from him — at least one more gold medal for America, if not another world record — during this, his fourth and surely his last appearance in the World Olympics, and realizing that his legs could no longer carry him down the runway with the same blazing speed and confidence in making a huge, eye-popping leap that they were capable of a few years ago when he set world records in the 100-meter dash and in the 400-meter relay and won a silver medal in the long jump, the renowned sprinter and track-and-field personality Carl Lewis, who had known pressure from fans and media before but never, even as a professional runner, this kind of pressure, made only a few appearances in races during the few months before the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, partly because he was afraid of raising expectations even higher and he did not want to be distracted by interviews and adoring fans who would follow him into stores and restaurants demanding autographs and photo-opportunities, but mostly because he wanted to conserve his energies and concentrate, like a martial arts expert, on the job at hand: winning his favorite competition, the long jump, and bringing home another Gold Medal for the United States, the most fitting conclusion to his brilliant career in track and field. There is only one independent clause in this horrific sentence! Find the subject of that clau

The Aam Khas Bagh was built for the public and also for exclusive use of the Emperor Shah Jahan. The Royal couple used to stay here while going to and coming back from Lahore. There were adequate number of palaces for the comfortable stay of the Mughal Emperors. A close scrutiny of the remnants of the palaces clearly indicate that there was a perfect system of air-conditioning in the palaces and the monument is called ‘SARAD KHANA’. The other monuments include ‘SHEESH MAHAL’ (DAULAT-KHANA-E-KHAS), HAMAM and the Tank where unique methods of heating water were adopted. At present, a Tourist Complex known as ‘MAULASARI’ is being run in the Aam Khas Bagh. A beautiful garden and the Nursery is also being maintained. During the famous Jorh Mel at Fatehgarh Sahib, the light and sound programme regarding the history of Sirhind and the martyrdom of younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh is shown to the visitors at night in the Aam Khas Bagh. It's a nice place for travellers and for those who loves history and historical places a lot.

Government must spend money and time to promote all ancient places. Although as of today work is going on, but no sign boards and upkeep. Punjab has less of tourism and must do something quickly to restore these monuments.
