Ujjayanta Palace is now a museum, but earlier it was the Palace of the Kingdom of Tripura. The palace was constructed between 1899 and 1901 by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya Debbarma and stands on the banks of two lakes surrounded by gardens inspired by the European style. Now, the Palace is very beautifully maintained by the Government and is converted to a museum. The museum has a wide collection of stone sculpture, terracotta plaques, copper plate inscriptions, stone inscriptions, textile items, Oil paintings, sketches and drawings, and a collection of old gold and silver coins. If you a planning for a trip of Tripura, then you must visit this place. It is good place to explore. This place gathers knowledge about Tripura social-economic, culture and livelihood.

It is an average place to go on weekend. Good museum inside, brief details about the Tripura and it's culture. Garden area is beautiful but not maintained properly. At gate ticket counter is there from which ticket to be taken. Don't visit during day time in summer because inside museum is very hot, only some rooms are having AC. Better to visit in evening.

Loved this white beauty in the north-east state of India. It gets even more beautiful at sunset. Looks like the beauty is blushing and turns pink. It has a museum in it, worth spending time here.

A Royal palace which was the state secretariat and now a museum about the state heritage, culture and history. A great architecture piece with a quite a good collection of artifacts and information. The museum and the building itself with its gardens are well maintained. But the fountains are no longer functioning. They have a strict no photography policy inside the museum. It hardly takes half a day to visit in full.

It was once the royal palace of the Tripura kings and now a museum showcasing the north east state's history, culture, artifacts, archaeological findings, tribal art, and traditional crafts.

The palace is built by Maharaja Manikya in 1899. It was the royal residence until Tripura's merger with India in October 1949. It's on the banks of two lakes, one on either side. The doors and entrance are wonderfully carved. The entry ticket is ₹40. You need to show your ID.

Great collections of historical/heritage/ cultural articles and antiques. Even three hours may be inadequate to draw full benefits of the information provided/displayed here. Thanks to all who have created and developed this museum with high standards and maintenance.

RAJBARI also known as Ujjayanta Palace is a place where the Maharaja of Tripura used to live in the early ages. It's a state museum now and a good attraction for tourists. The scenery is breathtaking. You get to enter inside the palace and see monuments , culture and heritage of Tripura. However we're not allowed to take pictures or videos inside. The entry fee is 30 and you'll be charge for camera and videography. You can do photoshoot within the compound. Many come to do their wedding photoshoots. Now they've even started Jet Skiing although the lake is not big. It's 250 per head of I'm not mistaken. The gardens are so beautiful and full of flowers . You must visit when in Tripura .

Jampui Hills can be accessed by road from Dharmanagar and Kailashahar via Kanchanpur. It can be accessed from Mizoram through Tuipuibari towards the South and from Kanhmun towards the North.[3] Also, Helipad is available at Vanghmun and at Phuldungsei where Helicopters can land with ease. The view of rising and setting sun from various view points in Jampui hills is a wonderful sight for the tourists. Tourists visiting the Jampui hill cannot afford to miss the view of the sunset and the sunrise. Various view points in the hill range provide excellent panoramic views of the valley and villages of Mizoram. From the watchtower at the highest peak,(Thaidawr) Balinchhip 'Ba'-a species of tuber, 'Lin'-to plant (in mizo), 'Chhip' -a peak (in mizo)(3200 feet above sea level), the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Kanchanpur - Dasda valley other hill ranges of Tripura and Mizoram unfold an enigmatic scenic vista. Jampui Hills have huge eco-tourism potential which the state Government is trying its best to develop it. Tourism Department of Government of Tripura has constructed one very modern tourist lodge- Eden Tourist Lodge at Vanghmun village in the Jampui hills which has a capacity of 30 persons and is well equipped with all modern amenities. Earlier, owing to limited seats, getting a seat at Eden lodge needs 2–3 months advance bookings during the month of September to March. At present, new buildings have been constructed besides the main Eden lodge to accommodate more visitors.

One of the most iconic places in Agartala. You'll fall in love with this. The majestic royal palace of Agartala. It has turned to a museum of the royal history of Tripura and North East India. Photography is prohibited inside the building, thus, only photos of the outside is here. The museum is huge. It consists each and everything of Tripura, starting from the communities live here, the religious sites, archaeological sites, mountain, tea gardens, floras and faunas. You'll need at least 2 hours to complete the whole museum.

I went there with my friend. It was a beautiful place to spend your afternoon peacefully. Here you can find the left over of the king of Tripura. You can find many things of the past . It was awesome. The culture of the whole tripura is described inside with Scriptures and photos. But you can't take photos inside the museum. Everything is good there except prohibiting clicking photos. I recommend you to go there with your partner or friend, you'll really love it . ♥️

Its an amazing museum. Agartala’s most attractive place. The Ujjayanta Palace also known as “Nuyungma” is the former royal palace of Tripura kingdom. And the name was given by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The palace was constructed between 1899 and 1901. It housed the state legislative assembly up to 2011. At present, it is the state museum of Tripura, and located in the capital Agartala. It primarily showcases the lifestyle, arts, culture, tradition and utility crafts of communities residing in northeast India, along with a lot of stone sculptures, coinage of the Manikya dynasty and some other artefacts. The Ujjayanta Palace compound covers an area of approximately 1 km2 (250 acres) and includes public rooms such as the throne room, Darbar hall, library and reception hall. The buildings and grounds cover 800 acres in the heart of Agartala. The two-storied palace has three large domes, the largest of which is 86 ft high, and which rests atop a four-storied central tower. The architecture shows a mix of influences: Mughal, Roman and British. There are two large artificial ponds on either side of the garden which is decorated with pools and fountains. 1st floor Museum start with the history of Bangladesh liberation war 1971. Indian force, bangladeshi refugees, bangabondhu sheikh mujibur rahman, war time newspaper are presented nicely. 250 Indian rupees are needed to enter this palace museum for foreigners. But it worthy and everyone can spend a half day within this palace area. In front of this palace you can buy several types of street food like momo, peanut, juice, icecream, tea, chatney, corn, luchi, pav bhaji etc.

Beautiful and serene. They don't give permission to take photos, but the outer side of the Museum door has a beautiful design and view. It's a shame I can't see that whenever I walk down through memory land as I go through albums.

The palace is now a museum. Hosts exhibits on flora and fauna of Tripura. Has exhibits on neighboring countries and North Eastern States too. Entrance is from the bottom of the building and you exit on the first floor which leads to a good view of the gardens. No proper signage marking entrance and exit. There is an hour break for lunch when tickets are not sold.

Ujjayanta palace ❤ now turned into the state's museum. It was built by Maharaja Radha kishore Manikya (1901). The museum has so much knowledge and information about the state, the infrastructure of the palace is top notch. When you enter the palace you can definitely feel the Royal environment and it's a nice place for a photoshoot.

The place is quiet and family friendly, you can watch the beautiful palace with the museum inside. Ticket price ₹40 for Indians, ₹100 for Bangladeshi and ₹250 for other nationalities. You can use mobile to click photos or record videos but camera or Handycam is chargeable. A light and sound show is also conducted there with separate charge. The only disappointing thing is the drainage system, water accumulated there with such high that if someone is wearing a closed shoe, it has to be taken off. And the water accumulation at its most at the entrance of the palace building. So that's a disappointment. Otherwise everything is fine, there are 2 small ponds at both the sides of the palace. I visited on Monday and they opened it at 2pm.

Ujayanta palace was begun in 1899 and completed in 1901. It stands on the bank of two lakes Radha Sagar and Krishna Sagar. In 1972 the main building of the palace was bought by Tripura Govt from the Royal family. Now this building is known as the state Museum Ujayanta palace. You can see the history culture of Tripura through Light Show. It is good place for visiting. We may take our kids for knowledge and enjoyment. We may understand the great culture of Tripura and its kingdom.

It provides an elaborate history of not only the royal family of Tripura but also the culture of its people, flora and fauna of the State. The museum also provides insight to the 1971 freedom struggle of Bangladesh. The museum also houses various tableaus of the whole of North East along with a to scale topographic map of India and The Northeast.

In museum mostly it is pictorial illustration of Tripura and Northern eastern region of India. Bangladeshi liberation against Pakistan is also portrayed. It opens at 10.15 am.

I would suggest people visiting the place should come during evening hours specially during summer days to avoid the hot & humid climate. A must visit in Agartala. Disclaimer Monday & all public holidays remain closed.
