First time experience at The Pickled Loon. When we initially walked in we had doubts and almost walked right out. Good thing we didn't because we enjoyed everything we ordered. The Loon Burger was fantastic and cooked to perfection. My wife loved the Chicken Alfredo. She is quite picky and gave it an 8.5 out of 10. The dry rub wings were quite good with a little heat. My daughter who always gets mac n cheese ordered that particular meal and rated it below Kraft mac n cheese, but still liked it. The service was quite good but there was an error in the bill that needed correction. All in all it is a nice place with great tasting microbrew beer. We will be back. Give it a shot!

I had a delicious burger with avocado 🥑 on it. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, surprisingly delicious. Good bun, decent beer selection. 3 of us ate. All 3 of us enjoyed our meal.

This place is super different from day to night.. during the day it's laid back and a favorite for food and good drinks. On Friday and Saturday nights it's a club for college kids though.. we're talking wall to wall people, music so loud you can't think, and 2 levels of chaos. If that's your jam, enjoy! Otherwise I recommend visiting during the day or weekday evenings. Staff is very capable!

The bartender was great. The food was delicious. Philly cheese steak, cheese curds, hamburger and tots.

Hit and miss on some things. The staff are very nice and friendly and the food is actually very good when you get what you want. I have ordered from these guys two times and the first time everything was right and I was very happy with our food. I have pictures here of the Philly cheese steak with no onions and the Cali Burger. My fiance also ordered the Pickled loon with no pickles but was basically handed a plain burger as they forgot the bacon and some other dressings. My Cali Burger, was fantastic. The mixture of the cheese, sauce, and generous avocado slices made it worth ordering. I made time to order it one more time before leaving town. Personally, I don't like how there is no online ordering. I'm very awkward and don't like having to call a place to place an order. That being said, everyone who I've spoken with has been very polite and understanding of my awkwardness. The estimates for food pickup are not very accurate. I ended up having to wait an additional 25 to 30 minutes for our to go burgers. I was honestly so very excited that I could have a Philly without the onions. I know it's practically sacrilege, but I just don't like them. If you are in St Cloud, and tired of chain restaurants, give the Pickled Loon a try.

Pickled Loon is a cool spot for late night snack and meeting with some friends. For us it was the only spot open on a Tuesday night. The vibe was nice and chill. Our server was the bartender. You ever notice that the bartender is always a better server than an actual server. We had the nachos, fried pickles, and fried avocado tacos. The food was ok slightly bland on the nachos. It was missing a few seasonings to make it pop. The best dish was the fried pickles.

We ate here before seeing a show at the Paramount. We parked in the garage and walked over (about a block). Really great food in a place we didn't know was not just a bar! Highly recommend their salmon and salads. Great service-but be sure to allow time if you are seeing a show as they get busy! Also, someone there is a master baker and they have huge amazing special desserts. ❤️ It is darker inside so it was pretty hard to take good food photos, but the portions were great and so was the food.

I love frequenting the Pickled Loon for a good place to eat in St. Cloud. It’s a bar atmosphere in Downtown St. Cloud and certainly can have some lively visitors at time but, going early dinner time during the week— it isn’t too busy. My favourite menu item is the cheese curds!! They are just amazing here, you have to get them when you come. The Pickled Loon has a great variety of appetizers and food. They change up the menu every so often so there will usually be one new thing on the menu to try. If you are looking for fun, relaxed place to have a filling me, I would recommend The Pickled Loon!

We got there at 5:00 and was seated right away. The staff were attentive and courteous. I tried a new menu item, and the flavor was savory. I can't remember the name, but it's a chicken taco with, I think, pineapple 🍍.

Holy canoli this place is fab! I had a burger 🍔 so delicious I had to check reality lol the service was good our waitress sorry I forgot her name but a wonderful brunette! We had several dishes and all were above average and nothing like nasty as southern food! Ty so much for the intoxicating food! And great hospitality! We'll be back next year! Don't run away lol

Waited an hour and a half for appetizers, we did not order any main food. We ordered fries, breaded asparagus, cheese curds, and chips and queso. We watched multiple families come in, get their food and leave. It was not very busy. Would not recommend.

The duck wontons were most excellent! Traveling through the area and just love that we found a gem such as this. Will definitely stop in again if we go to or through St. Cloud. Outdoor seating was nice. St. Cloud seemed a decent city.

Great food and staff! One of my favorite places to eat! I brought my good friend for her first time and she really loved it as well!

Really good eclectic drink menu, I suggest the Italian Margarita if you like tequila or the Peach Raspberry Lemonade if you prefer something sweeter. The food menu had some fun choices! We tried the fried asparagus for an appetizer, the dips were delicious! My MIL got the Bluegill platter, my SIL ordered the shrimp burger, and I requested the sun dried penne platter. All the food was excellent! The only drawback for us was they were out of the carrot cake special for us to try!

Dinner tonight was fantasist. Mike (one of the owners) waited on us and he definitely takes customer service seriously. We were never left wondering if/when our drinks would be refreshed. The dinner menu has lots of unique choices and they have great variety of cocktails and beers available. The turkey poutine was excellent (I suggest adding some diced jalapeños to cut through the richness). Will certainly be back soon.

Love this place!! A true local gem. Great food and drinks. Can't go wrong going here as it's not your typical "bar" food. The variety and flavors are so awesome.

  • 1/5 Connie H. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely awful. The poutine wasn't made with cheese curds, just shredded cheese and runny brown gravy, the fish is so greasy it's inedible, the tap beers are $7, and the service is very slow and rude! Obviously this is a place that's for friends of the servers, because they will ignore you if they don't know you.

This place was great. The chicken sandwich was perfect, the beer battered fries were incredible. The only thing they need to do is find a slightly better bbq sauce but it's to be expected when I come back to visit MN, people just don't really use bbq sauce here. If I find myself in st cloud again I would absolutely stop back.

First server (bartender?) was unfriendly and didn’t know the taps at all. Waited 10-15 mins for a different server to take our food order after that and then another eternity for it to arrive. California burgers were cold and under seasoned. From the other reviews seems like someone was just having an off night, I’m sure some people have a great experience. Spent most of the meal just waiting to get back on the road :/

The Mac and cheese was meh but it came out on a super cute plate and my date got tacos that he said we're delicious 😋 our waiter was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. Looking for night life? They're great for that as well fun atmosphere but usually a little claustrophobic.

The perfect date night spot, patio, and variety of menu. Pro Tip: Ask for a slice of cake!

Popped in for a bit while in town for the day. Great atmosphere and food was nice. Loved the music! Will definitely come back again.

Fun downtown bar with food options. Always a fun place to bring people from out of town

Best place for guys below 25years old or someone who is still trying to figure out night life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun bar to be in

Great service and amazing food. Really enjoy the beers they have on tap and they are always updating and have new things to try. They have a nice space downstairs for eating and a small space for acoustic musicians. Upstairs they have a great space for dancing and larger bands. There is also a bar upstairs so you don't have to go up and down the stairs during the shows. All in all, a really great place that is spaced out a little ways from all the other hustle and bustle of downtown St. Cloud.

OMG! With the wonderful choice of vegetarian or omnivore items coupled with the extensive tap, wine, and drink mix, this place would stand out in any city. It shines here and is a must try. Go for the drinks. Stay for the food. Then marvel at the class and perfection of the staff. I'm going back and you should give it a try.

I had a sugar cookie martini that was excellent. The food was average; I was expecting more based on their claim that the menu changes seasonally. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet. The service was good.
