This place is exceptional. Really bizarre finding such a gem up in st cloud of all places. This place has some of the best food ever! Everything was fresh and amazing and cooked perfectly. The staff was amazing, this place is a must go!

Always enjoy this restaurant. They are always super nice and great food! They were really busy today and brought our food to the wrong table; we thought it was just taking longer than normal cause it was a lunch rush. They came and told us they made a mistake and brought us a entree on them while we waited for our food. Very honest and friendly place! Highly recommend!

The first was the lamb vindaloo. The lamb was so tender and was not gamey at all. I order the spiciest level but was not spicy enough for me. I would say it is American spicy and not Asian spicy. The star bread was perfect. It is stuffed naan bread with pieces of shredded chicken in it. The last dish was a chicken curry. Huge chunks of chicken and perfect taste. Overall, the service was awesome and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

These are the really the star of India. Had the non-veg platter for the two and it was really worth it. I especially liked the hot gulab jamun at the end as desert.

Campy and dated interior with friendly service and delightful Indian music. We did not care for the paper table covers. This is our first visit and we always try the Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan. It was missing a certain spice and was a little too much tomato taste. The chicken pieces were very good. The Naan (bread) was fantastic. Good chicken, beef and vegetarian options plus a cute kid's menu. We might go back someday when we are visiting St. Cloud.

The food was good. Three levels of spiciness offered. The rice was plentiful and done just right. The service was outstanding.

I came in starving. I left with one of the best food experiences of my life. The food was fantastic, and even though the portions visually appeared small, they were more than enough. I crave this every time I’m in St. Cloud, and I’d say this is my favorite restaurant every time.

The food here is really good. I had the chicken Palak medium spice and it was perfect. Staff is very attentive and food came out quickly. Papadums were more like crackers and not crispy like I'm used to, but the chutney was right on.

This review is for the dinner service. Earlier in the day, a buffet is available. We have never attended the buffet. (Also, due to supply-related reasons, Star of India has temporarily stopped offering buffet service [as of early August, 2023]). Tasty food. A variety of options. For us personally, it's difficult to find onion-free menu options for the allergic person in our group, but they can do Chicken Makhani onion-free. The rest of us plant-based dieters struggle to find options without dairy, so we use the vegetarian and balti menu sections and try to avoid rich sauces. I don't remember if we've ever asked them what their base curry is made of. So, the menu could be more informative—when sitting down in a restaurant already, it can be pretty uncomfortable to ask the staff over and over about what each dish contains. I haven't paid too much attention to it, but I'm pretty sure that they could make a much slimmer menu by combining identical styles (Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Vindaloo, etc.) and simply listing meat options next to them. Large menus are the style of lower quality restaurants (usually serving frozen foods), and are just more difficult to navigate and understand for curious and/or unfamiliar customers. The table and booth seating are cozy, and the music matches the theme of the food. We've always enjoyed the atmosphere.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is generous and delicious! The staff is very warm and welcoming and the service is just the best. The prices are reasonable, I saw a lot of people coming in for take out.

Amazing!!! We got Lamb curry ,Chicken Tikka Masala and chicken tandoori , boti kabab. Each dish was as good as the other. Portion sizes were large and service was extremely friendly and attentive. 10/10 Thank you 🙏😊😊

That’s my order in 1st screenshot. Ordered chicken palak received paneer palak. The other two items doesn’t even look like tandoor items. It looks like they just baked and put spice all over it. Tandoor items are supposed to be red in color and baked in oven clay. Ordered a chicken chilli but doesn’t look like one. Please serve people what they ask for. Unfortunately I ordered take out as I was traveling and live 2 hours from the restaurant.

10/10 would recommend. Always pleasant whether dining in or getting take-out. We get take out from here all the time. By far our favorite food and our favorite friendly atmosphere. Today there was a surge in online orders (I could tell by how many were coming out of the kitchen) and mine was not quite done with, which I was a few minutes early anyhow I believe. The gentleman behind the counter offered me something to drink from the fountain of sodas and I politely declined. He then offered a mango yogurt drink and it was PHENOMENAL. I sipped on it the entire way home. We love Star of India ♥️

Star of India is hands down the best food in our TOWN! It's absolutely authentic, fresh and delicious! We order the 'Star of India' special every time, worth every penny! My kids love it (as seen in the pic)!!!

Best Indian food in Central MN. Food is always great and comes out quick! Their service team is fantastic. My only complaint is the paper they use on the tables, but it’s not so annoying to warrant losing a full star over.

We come here often. Food is always amazing and the service is always top notch. We always get the beef samosas, garlic nann, chicken dhamaka balti, tikka masala, and vindaloo and order it spicy. Used to come for the buffet when it was open and miss it a lot. Still, one of my favorite places to eat in Saint Cloud.

I should not have given even one star. They served us very bad food on Memorial Day Monday. We ordered veg food. All the items were stale and gave us food poisoning. We were all hale and healthy before eating there. Had a very bad time after food. I won’t visit again. Definitely not a star of India😫😩😫

Serviceable Indian restaurant. Good food, but a little too much tomato flavor to feel as authentic as some. Great service. Definitely worth eating at! And good beer selection.

One of my favorite places to eat pre COVID. The food is authentic and always filling. Coming back post pandemic, the lunch buffet has been eliminated... Which is the reason I frequented it on break from work. Could get a great meal, fast, and for $12. I went in this past week to am extremely dark dining room with no buffet. Now I had to order from the regular menue with meals starting at $16 for half the food you could get buffet style. I picked out my favorites that I frequented on lunch buffet days... It them took 35-40 min. to get us our food... The food for 2 people that once would cost $25... Now cost us $60... Sadly, the glory days are behind this once amazing Indian food lunch buffet spot

From out of state and wanted to try something we didn't have near us, this was it. amazing food, amazing smell all around just amazing, place was clean and hosted our party of 7. Again cannot stress enough how good the food was. Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything you'd want out of a sit down restaurant

Always delicious! Campy and dated interior with friendly service and delightful Indian music. They stopped having their excellent lunch buffet due to the covid. A great choice for dining in or take out. Decent wine and beer selection including Kingfisher beer. Maybe they can find the Zinfandel made in India, Sula. Good chicken, beef and vegetarian options plus a cute kid's menu.
