If you want to try authentic Thai food, this place is fantastic! The beef curry was amazing which definitely tasted homemade to me. The chicken laab was good however, I did notice that there were a bunch of onions in there was wasn't expected, I would have preferred just a bit more meat. The papaya salad was mediocre however, didn't have every much going on for me so I didn't care too much for it. The pad Thai was more of a sweeter dish than other pad Thai's that I've tried which I actually really enjoyed. The fried rice was great especially throwing curry on top of it. Our server was friendly however, our entire time there, even though it wasn't very busy, we had only gotten our drinks refilled once which was not very pleasing as the food did have a good kick to is as well as having good portions of salt causing thirst. Overall, the experience was above average and I definitely will go again if I'm in the mood for Thai food!

My partner and I were so excited to come eat at Sawatdee St. Cloud, now under management and ownership of Annie and Adrienne! We didnโ€™t expect to sit down and enjoy the tastiest Thai food of our lives thus far. (Obviously weโ€™ll be back for more!) The atmosphere is super chill, vintage, and has personal style. The music was a sweet treat. Some nice Thai pop and smooth jazz. Sueโ€™s Egg Rolls are the BEST egg rolls either of us have ever had. They were perfection. The fresh vegetarian spring rolls were amazing as well. The subtle chewiness of the wrap and noodles inside and the crunchiness of the fresh veggies, all ties together with the yummy semi-sweet peanut sauce for a deliciously light appetizer. We both got the Sweet Green Curry Chicken at a heat level 3/5. It was the perfect amount of spice for us. Grandma might prefer level 1. ๐Ÿ˜Œ The rice was cooked to perfection and the curry was so flavorful and creamy. The veggies were soft but still had a delightful crunch to them. The chicken was tender and great quality as well. We finished the meal off with the Sawatdee Strawberry Sundae (also available in chocolate and caramel) complete with chopped peanuts and their famous sweet sticky rice. This was the perfect way to cool our tongues after the delicious spiciness. Huge portion and amazing taste was worth the price. I was hesitant to try ice cream with rice but oh my goodness it is heaven in a bowl. Tl;dr: Quality fresh ingredients and perfected recipes make Sawatdee a St. Cloud MUST try- again and again and again.

Not a bad place. We were seated right away once we entered. The first dish I ordered was the Panaeng beef curry. I ordered with the spiciest they could make it. The green peppers were the main spice but sadly they only add chili powder that is not spicy at all. So I would say this is American level spicy which is spicy like red pepper flakes. Second I ordered the pad Thai with beef. The portion is great but sadly the protein portion is not that great. There were like 5 thin pieces of beef in there. I wish they could give more beef because noodles & Co gives the same portion with a whole top layer of the bowl of protein for the same price. I like that it was very saucy though. Sadly for a Thai restaurant, the food is catered towards the American community. So do not expect anything to actually be spicy. Overall, great staff and food. I would definitely go for a few more visits to try the rest of the menu.

It can take a while to get your food, so make sure you visit when you have time to spare. They offer vegetarian options. You can choose the level of spice as they have a scale of 1 to 5. Order a 4 or 5 if you want a kick!

The green curry with chicken was delicious. I had the pad Thai with chicken and it was the best I have ever had, we will return every time we are in St. Cloud.

Not authentic Thai food. But this is the only Thai restaurant in the town.

  • 4/5 Julian M. 4 years ago on Google
TLDR: If you're looking for decent Thai and willing to pay a little extra, this place is pretty good. If you're looking for great Thai, keep looking. Remember however that this seems to be the only Thai place in town. They got my spice level perfect, however there wasnt enough sauce on my noodles to actually flavor everything. Leaving my chicken tasting like slightly dry grilled chicken. I also got fresh spring rolls which used a fish and sweet soy sauce mix with peanut pieces on top. Although pretty good, not as good as what I'm used to elsewhere. Overall the food was fresh and well prepared. Wait time was a bit excessive, as was the price. Portion size seemed pretty good as well.

Great food and perfectly seasoned dishes. Both the hostess and chef are polite and have warming personalities. I ordered the Pad Thai with pork and it was very very good. For the heat rating I usually get 3 out of 5. Which is typically just enough heat to give you more flavor with out it being to over whelming that lead to bites of food between sips of milk.

Great service, and more authentic than some of the paces around St. Cloud. The food is also better than the huge buffets. Sawatdee's lunch buffet offers a great variety.

The staff are friendly. The store is quite clean. Lots of seats of the restaurant. Meanwhile they donโ€™t have pho anymore. All the pho in St Cloud are too sweet. The authentic pho wonโ€™t have calories that much from the sugar in the soup. The Tum Yum Soup is just fine, best thing is they have tofu. No bad thing for the restaurant and all they people are kind. I have to give full stars. The food is not awe full but also not attractive.

I had the lunch buffet which was reasonably priced with a nice little selection of foods for making salads and having rice or noodle entrees with rolls or won tons.

This place is an institution. I've been to the st paul and Minneapolis locations when they were around. The food is decent and awesome. Great family run restaurants, consistent quality. I think they do (did?) catering too. Love their food.

One of my favorite places in town! Vegetarian options are diverse and delicious. Great appetizers, entrees and when mango is in season the dessert is spot on.

Food was fine if it wasn't for the lack of cleanliness. Backed up toilet, dirty cup, general disrepair of the place. Will not be going back.

The air was out when we were here in August so that wasn't ideal but the food was authentic and good. The service was great, the waiter was very friendly.

  • 3/5 Tim D. 7 years ago on Google
The restaurant itself is a bit run-down and in need of some attention, paint, repair, but the Thai food is excellent. They offer a weekly luncheon buffet in addition to their menu of Thai favorites, which are available in spicy levels from 1-5, with 5 being extremely hot.
