This'll probably be the most accurate and up-to-date review you'll find on this place. I've never experienced the old Phoenix Express; so my experience is only through the newest owners/dishes, recipes and so forth. I've experienced plenty of both authentic-asian food and also americanized-asian style foods over the yrs (my neighbors growing up were born in Laos and plenty of other asian friends). This place does a great job blending the best of both worlds. As you can see with the orange chicken, it's not your mall-style cheap asian orange chicken and also there's no fish eyeballs staring at you. Plates were well decorated. I tried all 3 types of egg rolls; all were great and you can't go wrong. My wife liked the Vietnam style egg roll the most. We both enjoyed the cheese wontons. You could eat some as an appetizer and save some for dessert, because there's so many, each PACKED with a sweet cheesy flavor you'll want lingering on your tongue, long after your main meal. The rice was a perfect 10/10. The place was super clean and comfortable to be in. Very neat decorations to glance at as well. I also ate here 30 minutes before they closed, and so it was empty and yet everything came out FRESH. Meaning it's likely to be freshly prepared always. And just look at those 'hot and spicy' wings. They were as good as they looked! YUM. If you dislike soggy wings, the way they prep theirs you can get the sauce and crunch. Nothing worse than wasting time reading about old reviews! This restaurant is under new ownership and the menu has changed to a vast combination of Chinese and Vietnamese food. Everything I've had here is amazing. Pho, Vietnamese and Chinese egg rolls, Beef lo mein, hot and spicy or salt and pepper (pepper as in spicy chilis) wings, and bahn mi are my go to. Also, ask for the chili oil with anything you order if you like to take things up a notch. Service is great...Have no complaints and so happy this place is in St. Cloud!

It's been nearly a decade since I've been here. The new menu is wonderful. The sweet chili wings were perfect. They had just the right amount of crunch and the flavor was exquisite. The pho was delicious with a serving size that satisfies. The egg rolls are without a doubt the best in the Saint Cloud area. Simply amazing. I will definitely be returning and often.

We went here for lunch , great service food was awesome. They even had Pho , I usually have to drive to Brooklyn Park to find pho. Now have a new favorite place.

Got take out when I was in town for work. Staff was very friendly and helpful ordered spring rolls and Peking chicken with white rice all was very well prepared, packaged well and tasted amazing would highly recommend you give them a try

This little place is the bee's knees.. we dined in. the guy who waited on our table was just the coolest... All the staff here made us feel so welcome. They are what give this place a real genuine charm. my plate of food was downright picturesque... The Vietnamese iced coffee is the love of my life. It puts others to shame. can't wait to come back and try a bowl of Pho.... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The. Best. Chinese. In. Town. We have tried so many places in town and near town. None of them were worthy of me writing a review. Nearly all have had some good elements, mostly average elements, and a few not-so-good elements. We were actually avoiding this place because of the reviews I'd seen from the past, and it just didn't feel good. Yesterday, we finally tried it. The smells that hit us as soon as we walked in reminded us of our time in Asia, so it had a great first impression! Then Robert greeted us with a friendly hello, we said we'd never been there so he explained the menu a bit. We tend to try a little of everything the first time we go someplace so we get a good cross section of a restaurant's capabilities. We ordered the Pepper Beef, Singapore Mei Fun, a combo pho, the combo bun (vermicelli rice noodle salad dish), and the salt & pepper wings. While waiting, we chatted with Robert, turns out his wife is Chinese and they bought the place about a year and a half ago. So any reviews prior to that should probably be ignored. The food did take a while to get finished, which was encouraging because it meant they didn't have a lot of pre-made food they just heated up. It smelled so good the entire way home! We got home and tore into it. Oh my gosh! Amazing flavors, perfect textures, everything was incredibly delicious! I will say, if you need your food to have a midwest influence, you may not like it. This food is authentically Chinese and Vietnamese, accurately reflecting those cultural flavors. It's definitely worth trying out, and then going back later. We're going back tomorrow.

The food was amazing and the service was great. The spicy wings are definitely a must try. The banh mi was delicious and meaty. The sesame chicken was crispy and delicious. The lo mein was delicious too. The pho was decent but not the best. Still good for a nice cold day. Overall great food and great service. Definitely recommend this place and I will definitely keep coming back here.

Amazing Food and service! Very high quality food, the spring rolls and Pho were delicious! A must try for anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine, both Chinese and Authentic Vietnamese food. Near crossroads mall actually a convenient place to dine in , take out or delivery.

Recently, Chinses Phoenix Express change it owner and menu, and I must said that it is worth it to check out their new menu. I highly recommended their Salt and pepper wing! it is the best wing I ever try. The wind is also freshly made and each bite, it is crunchy yet juicy. The flavor is the perfect combination between saltiness and spiciness. Right amount of salt in your tongue with a hint sweetness. There are two kind of spiciness. the first one is the heat being bring out to the maximum degree, i.e. hot with no flavor. The second kind of spiciness this the spicy that was mean to enhance your tongue taste, to make you want more, to make you yearning for the next bite, and that, that is what this wing has. I can't no longer taste any other wind like the same as before, they ain't just the same like they use to be.

Absolutely amazing food. The new owners and menu are fantastic. We have tried several new dishes and keep coming back, haven't tried anything I wouldn't order again. Fresh, Fast, and Delicious. Give this place a visit, it is now by far the best choice in the St. Cloud area for Chinese or Vietnamese cuisine.

Best overall Chinese style restaurant in Cloud. They allow custom orders to, eat exactly what you want. Always clean and relaxing with the mostly 80s R&B music playing. Owners are wonderful people.

I don't think I'll go anywhere else in the St Cloud area for Chinese takeout ever again. The gentleman that took my order and met me at the counter was cool, polite, and knows that Chinese restaurants can be a gamble if you've never been there before. This place had very good General Tsos and orange chicken. The fried rice was very good and not too salty! The cream cheese wontons were almost better the next day cold. Anyone who leaves a bad review probably walked in with a terrible attitude. Your search is over - this is the place you were looking for!

Stopped for some lunch and was so surprised how good the food was. The staff was also all so friendly and helpful. We come back to eat here or take out pretty often now!

Yes I gave them 5 stars because they deserve it…I was visiting from out of town and this was the best food I had since being in town. The customer service was amazing…thank u ladies for helping me pick this delicious food🫶🏽

The food is always phenomenal and the service is always top notch. We’ve done takeout and delivery and both have always been perfect - no issues with missing food or incorrect orders. I can’t recommend the Salt & Pepper chicken wings enough - they’re so juicy and have the perfect amount of heat (pro tip: sprinkle some of the chilis and onions from the S&P wings onto other dishes for added heat and flavor!) We love Chinese Phoenix Express and will be lifelong patrons!

We just had a date night here tonight and the food was amazing!! The staff were very kind and did a great job of preparing and serving our food! They have a very warm atmosphere. Our new favorite restaurant!!

I can not stand to write bad reviews but this is not okay… 60.00 worth of food and only the eggrolls were okay. Over food was eayyy over done veggies and rice was literally mash! The fried rice had spoiled chicken in it. There is no way that they did not know it was spoiled because the smell was to strong. This is not the first time I have had this issue about over done food

Food was decent and prices are great. Everything was fresh, if basic. No atmosphere to speak of, but at $6-7/meal, that’s a lot to ask. Owners were attentive and got us taken care of right away. I visited the store itself, so I can’t comment on the delivery, which seems to be where most of the problems happen.

Perfect! Server(s) was extremely friendly and suited my needs. Basic Beef and Meatball Pho with shrimps added. I feel extremely bad going to the counter to ask about the missing shrimps initially for my pho but the chef willingly corrected it by adding it afterwards.

Our new favorite in St. Cloud! We've ordered from here several times now. Good selection and always prepared fresh. Nice size servings.
