I had a wonderful stay at America's Best Hotel. Staff is great and friendly. Kelly went above and beyond making sure the $20 I lost she got it back to me. Room was clean and comfortable. Will be staying here again.

I wanted to take the time and give a realistic review on my experience so far, I truly appreciate the cleanliness and quality of the rooms. I booked a suite for my family and I and it was very nice inside. No yucky smell or trashy on the outside. The employees was very helpful and kind. Thank you American Inn and suites for the above and beyond service🫶🏽

Take this as a sincere and honest warning: do not stay here. Not just because I say you will have a poor experience if you do, but also because of all the other Google reviews that say the same thing. If you look at them, over 50% of them are 1 star reviews. There is a reason for that. Also their name is a bit misleading. It should be called, “.America’s Worst Value”. Yes, you might save a few dollars staying here, but you will pay for it in the value you receive back. But even far as saving money goes, it’s still debatable as to whether or not this is the best choice. When I stayed, they wanted $78 a night. Yet I have stayed at cheaper hotels, and gotten better value than I did at this one. My advice: Stay at a Holiday Inn or Best Western if you can afford it. The difference between those and this hotel is huge. If you can’t I’d suggest trying another low budget hotel instead.

If I didn’t live 3 states away I would sue them. We booked over a month ago, got an email 24 hours prior to checking in that due to Covid they stopped offering some amenities which was fine until we found out it was the pool and breakfast which is the main reason we booked here. I tried to call to cancel our reservation at least 4 times throughout the day and nobody answered the phones until after 5PM when they told us the cancellation window had closed at 4PM. Had they notified me of this upon booking I would’ve had time to cancel and book elsewhere. The manager refused to allow us to cancel without paying the $85 cancellation fee. I said I have proof of my outgoing calls that I tried to cancel multiple times today but nobody answered. She didn’t care and said “it’s right in the itinerary, we’re not scamming nobody” as if this is a common occurrence. So since this hotel screwed us we had no choice but to stay, only hotels left for a the weekend were in the $250+ a night due to a big hockey tournament in town. I don’t even know where to begin on how filthy the hotel room is. The bed and plastic sheets are horrific, they gave us 3 flat pillows. There was disgusting saucy peanut butter looking stuff splattered on the wall and what looked to be mold on the ceiling. I gouged my leg on a chair that had a metal piece sticking out of it when I tried to open the window to let out some of the stench in the room. In Mackinaw City there were hotel owners scamming customers in the recent past that were caught. I hope this hotel is also caught because it’s so wrong and unethical what they’re doing.

The room I was suppose to stay in was DISGUSTING. Sheets were clearly not changed from the last time someone stayed. Everything from the microwave to the toilet was filthy. The fire alarm was hanging off the wall tied in a plastic bag. The picture hanging next to that had broken glass. I went to use a side door to get into the hotel when guests that were in the parking lot told me that I should use the lobby entrance because it can get dangerous and “sketchy” using that entrance at night. As a woman who was staying alone that night, I immediately decided to return my key and not stay there. Never had an experience like that in my life.

Have been staying here for a couple months until my house is ready to move in. They have decent rates and great staff! The manager is so kind and caring! Housekeeping does a great job as well! The hallways always smell clean and fresh!

The Manager Mandy was really rude and unprofessional, she didn’t give me and the other guests time to grab our things at check out nor did she give us our deposit because one of the guests got a bloody nose on the towel so she called it destruction of property I gave her the towels nicely thinking that would be the best thing & respectful thing to do. I feel like nobody at this hotel truthfully gets their deposit back if she came up with a lame excuse like that for why we couldn’t get it back… She was saying she was gonna call the police if he hadn’t left quick enough for her & kept repeatedly knocking on the door yelling.. we had kept the hotel nice the whole stay and cleaned up after ourselves all day each day there. I hope this hotel can find a better manager because even one of the employees said her management wasn’t fair and they were going to quit on her the next day, I appreciate the housekeepers they were very sweet & did their job the right way!

I had room 110, perfect cause first room next door and never had to park more than twenty feet from the door. Best price around. I kept forgetting and losing keys and the staff accommodated. After staying at five other hotels in the area I should have just came here to begin with. There was only one hotel that was better and it was three times the price, and one that I would say I was indifferent too, but this place beats out days inn, Rodeway inn, comfort inn.

If I could give negative stars I would. The rooms were dirty, and smelled like something had happened.Things were broken, towels were disgusting. They allowed people to just be running up and down the halls at 330am knocking on doors. The GM was rude during check out time. I don't recommend this hotel for anyone. Had I not drove 12 hrs plus, I'd stayed somewhere else. The price was not worth it at all. Which was way more than it should of been. Do not stay here. I will definitely be calling someone and posting pictures everywhere. I wish I could.of taken a picture of the smell, terrible. Especially for 170 dollars

This was absolutely the worst stay ever. Rooms were very dirty and disgusting. The general Manger was a old lady chain smoker that didn't give two shots about the paying costumer. If the other hotels hadn't been booked we would of stayed some where else. People running up and down the hall knocking on doors. The front desk didn't do anything about it. Towels were dirty, it was a terrible stay. Do not stay here. I wish we hadn't. I'd stay in my car next time.

I found myself in a situation where I needed to rely on America's best value in and suites. The initial person behind the desk was decent and had good communicational skills and helped in many ways. The following morning I met the manager a 50+ year old chain smoking Karen with absolutely no filter. I've been disrespected numerous times on phone calls by her. I've been threatened with being locked out of my room. Etc. If it wasn't for my situation. I would never book with these people ever again. That doesn't even touch on the quality of the room. I booked a king bed but for some reason it has a twin bed frame. Their bathrooms are right next to their doors. There's people that roam the hallways. The door doesn't latch without additional input once closed. I often time need to chain my door when I go to sleep so I feel a sense of safety. The amenities are non-existent. The pool has been "under construction" since my first day here. I'm coming up on my third week at this location. The apartment has a abandoned wing attached to it which is concerning because of the homeless people living in tents behind the place. Etc

Scammers beware. Do not stay here. Biggest dump I have ever seen. AC didn't work. Then they asked to give them $60 cash after the fact, 30 mins after the transaction was completed. They said it was for a deposit. You don't ask for more money after the customer is already in their room and have a key. These people need to be put out of business literally the definition of a roach motel. And if you look at the other reviews they don't care. They post the same response to each bad review. And I expect to receive the same treatment.

Omg disgusting!! The room smelled so strongly of urine you could taste it. I told the manager at check in and she said there were no other rooms available and there was nothing she could do. Then accused me of causing the smell at checkout. She was the most snappy rude horrible mean loud angry yelling employee I have ever seen anywhere in my life. Stay at your own risk. Just horrifying.

NOOO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! we stayed for one night only in room 117 because of the refund policy and the fact that we did not budget for another place that night. the place was a total dump. not only did they place two women alllllll the way in the very back of the hotel, but the room was bare-bones, and said it slept three when there was only one bed and a wooden desk chair?? dirty bathroom with hair everywhere, cracks all over the place, holes in the sheets, stains on the towels, (shoe prints too??) holes in the shower curtain, bed was so uncomfortable and squeaky, door barely shut and you had to slam it/pull on it so hard to close and open it, pool doesnt work and hasnt for over a year apparently, no vending machines or breakfast options, staff was sleeping on the couch in the lobby?? the blankets are very thin with cigarette burns in them and DO NOT RECCOMEND FOR WOMEN. felt very very unsafe, and was so relieved to be leaving the next morning. you will never see me again and hopefully you’ll be out of business soon. wish i took pictures but was on facetime with my boyfriend all night just in case something might’ve happened.

It's a very very clean place. The staff is wonderful. I needed something from housekeeping and the maintenance man done for me what I was needing from housekeeping. The housekeeper later on came bye asking if I was taken care of also the General Manager stopped by making sure everything was fine. So your looking for a nice and quiet place to stay this is it and the rates are very affordable. The swimming pool is very nice. Thanks so Much Kelley

Rundown facility, rooms in dire need of repair, heater would not turn on, bathroom sink knob broken and you could only get warm water. Only needed a bed for 8 hours on long road trip and the bed was fine. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

All around just horrible. No pool. No breakfast. No elevator. No coffee. No shampoo, conditioner or body soap in rooms. Beds are extremely uncomfortable. Only 2 flat pillows per bed. Small TV that didn't work. Phone didn't work in room. Ice machine broken, guest washer was out of order. Cockroaches in bathroom. The general manager is very unprofessional and extremely rude. The whole place smelled like cigarettes, alcohol and vomit. Housekeeping is a joke here. Carpets turned your feet/socks black. Not worth the price.

You get exactly what you would expect from a hotel at this price but let me tell you… The manager here went above and beyond for me personally one night. A long story short, it’s always nice to know that a stranger can treat you better than some of the people that are in your life for years and she certainly did that for me. This Hotel lets my cat stay, which is hard enough to find… and the manager comforted me in the moment when things were overwhelming and she just happened to ask if I was OK. There was no judgment and there was compassion. she righted a situation for me, which she never had to do. Empathy goes a long way.. Great place if you have some gratitude for the simple life

Man at desk was a jerk. Other front desk staff were accommodating. Room was in need of a remodel. 1 towel per person for party of 2. 2 hand towel and 1 wash cloth. No bath mat. No breakfast only coffee. Didn’t use pool windows were dirty so we assum pool also needed cleaning. Pillows were a joke. Bed almost sank to floor but did give us a good nights rest. Couldn’t’t close curtain so sun woke us up. Not sure if we will stay there ever again.

The general manager at this place has changed this hotel dramatically in the last two years. I stayed at this place over three years ago and it wasn't at that time the best place to stay. I've been here for the last five months and this has been such a turn around since I was here last. The general manager has done her due diligence on how to make this hotel run better and be a hotel that you want to come to. So kudos for the management and having the right person in charge to make the changes needed to have this hotel be the hotel that you want to come to.

I normally don’t write a ton of reviews but this was the worst hotel experience Ive EVER had. Check in was fine but after turning the corner and walking down the hall I realized I had made a mistake booking here. Hallway smelt like drugs and flooring and walls were disgusting. I spent maybe a total of 5 minutes in the room before deciding to leave. Noticed a plastic bag over smoke detector? And then while I was leaving the handle fell off the door. Glad I did not stay, did not feel safe at all!!!!!

This place had some bad smells. The TV didn't work. There is no coffee pot in the room nor is there coffee or anything in the lobby. I had to stay there because I had my puppy with me and it was very late at night for checking in. As a smoker I had to go outside which was fine but the back doors don't work with your key card. Another annoyance. I had the door blocked but someone decided to toss it aside and I was locked out. If you stay bring some spray to help with the smell.

Place smelled of cat urine. Towel rack fell off wall. Door lock chain was fastened with one bolt.Bathroom door had been plastered where holes were not painted over. Window locks didn't work, could open Window with locks on. Felt unsafe there. Checked out early because. Gave notice that night i would be checking out and still charged me for all 3 nights, would not refund. Manager hung up on me when I tried to tell her about it.

Hello owner of this property. I am sad to hear your system could not find a reservation with my surname from your system from last night for room 263. Perhaps you have deeper issues. Americas Best Value Inn at St Cloud provides a place to spend the night. Of course, be careful getting in and out of bed, since the mattress is over 6 inches wider than the box spring. Smokers will feel at home in the hallways, home to the stench of stale tobacco. This hotel attracts the type of guests who think an appropriate place for a picnic, complete with a case of bottled beer, is sitting in a parking spot. Clearly, the motel has received many coats of paint to keep the walls looking fresh, but the building still looks tired. Some will appreciate how hot the tap water is, but take care for the little ones so they don’t get scalded.

Me and my wife stayed here for a travel assignment until our apartment was ready. The room we stayed in was clean considering where we were (I’d recommend wear shoes in the room at all times, carpet feels gross barefooted). The hallways smell like cigarettes most time, the towels and rags (which we never used) were sometimes torn and had stains. No coffee or any amenities that were in working order. There’s never a dull moment here with all the drama from the crackheads and God bless if you can get sleep after 11p some nights when they decide to come out , not to mention cops are often there because of this. Some of the staff were nice and well mannered like Hilary & Verona. Kelly the manager tries to be nice, but it’s beyond her, she’s loud and obnoxious, not to mention rude. While staying here, she snapped at me twice and I witnessed her been rude to another customer while waiting by the front desk. She has no customer service training and has no business being a manager!
