Been
going
to
St.
Croix
for
20+
years.
Took
friends
from
25-65
and
they
all
loved
it
and
returned
on
their
own.
Lots
to
do:
nature,
sea,
mountains,
rain
forest,
partying,
family,
food,
cultural
and
historic
stuff--take
your
choice.
Weather
always
perfect.
Language,
English.
Money,
American.
Laws:
American.
But
there's
enough
of
a
difference
from
mainland
US
to
make
it
feel
pretty
foreign--in
a
really
good
way
(like
driving
on
the
left!).
No
passport
required.
Affordable
places
to
stay.
Pretty
low
airfares.
Where
else
do
you
have
a
combination
gas
station
and
great
bar/restaurant,
or
a
moped
rental
place
that
doubles
as
a
bar?
Buck
Island
National
Monument,
as
far
as
I
know,
one
of
only
a
few
(or
maybe
the
only)
underwater
national
parks.
Thirty
feet
of
crystal
clear
water
where
even
a
non-swimmer
can
see
amazing
sea
life.
Great
place
to
retire:
your
children
and
grand
children
will
beg
to
visit.
Medicare
accepted
everywhere.
Wide
range
of
housing,
most
of
it
very
affordable.
I
bought
a
one-bedroom
condo
with
pool
in
a
"gated
community"
for
only
$40,000,
with
very
low
HOA
fees.
Mardi
Croix
and
St.
Patrick's
Day
are
major
festivals
and
completely
safe
fun
for
people
of
every
persuasion.
