So glad we took the time to visit such an interesting and unique place! We arrived in time for the guided tour at 11am with Edward, super informative excellent knowledge of La Hougue Bie.Then we viewed the hoard exhibit, really interesting and well set out,as was the long house. The onsite cafe serves delicious refreshments for when you've finished your tour.

It is interesting that this monument dates back many years and the artifacts have been beautifully presented for visitors to view. What I found incredible was the large stash of coins with the engraved surfaces making one realise the skills of these ancient people. Anyone visiting the island should try to visit this interesting site!

Personally, the highlight of a visit to Jersey. Not easy to get to if without a car, buses from St Helier run only a few times per hour. But once there, what appears just a quiet local restaurant turns into a historical masterpiece. You will hear several times that this is older than the pyramids in Egypt! Whilst walking around the hill it is incredible to think that humans used the site 6000 years ago already, at the same time there is also a separate memorial in a German bunker for the victims of WW2.

Very interesting place, has a really interesting museum building full of information. The mound is a fair size with a church on the top, has quite a view, there is also a German bunker next to it, plenty of parking and a cafe, friendly staff worth a visit.

Enjoyed my visit - quite a small site but packed everything in quite efficiently. Watched an intro video which gave a great background to the site and its history and it’s relevance. Visited the newly renovated museum which had a decent array of artefacts on site from the hoard of coins found on the island. Then progressed to the main site which was the Neolithic crypts, the chapel, German bunkers and a replica Neolithic longhouse. There’s also tea rooms and a shop. I used the bus to get there which stopped right outside which was super convenient too. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Extremely interesting place and lovely people. Crazy to think this structure is older than the pyramids. You can enter it but be warned that it's very low and dark but well worth having a look. The volunteers at the long house were brilliant to talk to and gave a lot of information on what it was like to construct with primitive tools.

Very interesting, historically speaking. The site is very well kept. However, even though the video at the start is informative they could have a bit more information to explain what you're actually looking at. But it is cool that you can actually go into the burial chambers (if you can get through the entrance - it's a bit low!) Well worth a visit!

Absolutely fascinating place to visit — thousands of years of history, from the Neolithic burial tomb to the German bunker. Friendly and helpful staff and a nice little cafe, too.

It was a great find, which was very educational and informative. I went on a wet and windy day, and it still didn't disappoint. The museum and long house were wheelchair accessible but the mount, bunker, and the church weren't. I didn't venture into the cafe, but I'm sure it had amazing food and tea.

Amazing place, amazing lady inside the ticket office, she was lovely! Though the staff in the cafe we found quite rude. Though the chapel, bunker and the long house plus the Neolithic tunnel was really great! Museum was amazing too. If you like history and have a passion for many artefacts then visit! Great day and thank you.

Very interesting place to visit, the museum had a lot of cool things to look at and pretty well designed to impart a lot of info. The informational videos on the passage grave and longhouse were actually very informative and not any longer than necessary (I think about 7 mins each). Would have appreciated a more obvious warning that the first part of the passage grave was so low to walk through (1.4m height) and I'm very glad I snapped a pic of the map + info in the video room as otherwise it was difficult to tell what you were looking at inside. The longhouse equally was very cool, but difficult to glean any real information from it. The occupation bunker/memorial was poignant. Went to tearooms to finish visit and overall very impressed by service and food (even including decent vegetarian options!). Would highly recommend - just remember to give the videos a go, and the room they're in a proper look round for extra information.

There is a lot to see here: a neothlic tomb you can climb into; an exhibition about Celts and the Celtic hoard; an old chapel; and a very moving memorial to forced labour in WW2. There isn't that much information about the actual Neothlic stuff (one room and some films). And a great cafe on site

Museum not open at the moment due to building work but this is still definitely worth a visit, the neolithic monument is fantaztic you have full access. Inside there is a very small amount light for after a while your eyes acclimatise. Very informative 2 videos to watch at the start in multiple languages, the church is also a quick visit too them the experimental archaeology long house, although I didn't feel they can call it neolithic as it was build using iron tools in the video, but it's great, and again you can explore inside fully. On top of this there's there's WW2 German bunker to explore too and all of this is within 100-150m of everything else You can get here and back from the main town by bus but they were very infrequent on a Sunday ( 2 hrs apart), still if you time your visit it works perfectly. Cafe was nice but a little slow( they cook fresh so say things will take time) so perhaps just plan that in. Lady at the gift shop also v helpful letting people store bags there...

Very interesting place with a rich history. You got the ancient burial chamber, above an ancient chapel, an underground bunker as a memorial and a neolithic longhouse all on the same site. Nice to see inside all these places. Just be careful in the burial chamber as it's about a 8m crawl to get inside.

If you visit Jersey you have to visit La Hougue Bike. It is a compact site rich in history and is genuinely fascinating and worth spending a few hours at.

We loved it here. From the cafe to the exhibition, it’s just fantastic. This site is a great day out for families and tourists. I’ve been coming to jersey all my life and only just visited this unique spot. So much history squeezed into a tiny plot of land!

Several trips to Jersey and have never visited La Hougue Bie, but glad we did this time! We did the guided tour with Annette, who was lovely, very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend going round with a guide or you'll miss a lot. The burial chamber is a wonder and the tale of the hourde of coins and gold fascinating! The cafe does a lovely cuppa and cake too! All well worth a visit!

Fascinating glimpse into ancient history. Amazing collection from a buried hoard, mainly coins and jewelery.
