This is a hidden gem, we found out about Peppa’s from our driver. He highly recommended we try the food there. We were a little hesitant while driving to the location, only because it’s in a residential neighborhood and do not look like there’s an restaurant there. But when we arrived it was a beautiful setup, side of a hill view overlooking the neighborhood was amazing, the bar was build around this huge tree it’s real cool. The waitress was friendly and patient, as for the place it is really cozy, the music was so melodic makes you just want to stay and relax. The portions was excellent and tasted delicious, we enjoyed refreshing tropical drinks as we were served freshly caught Red Snappers, Oxtails, Stew Pork and a couple of triangular shape fried Yucca (Cassava) Delicious!!

I gave 1 star for the atmosphere because there were so many damn flies, we had to pack up our food to go. I ordered jerk chicken (I had much better), and the meat was dry. I also ordered fried chicken and fish cake. The fish cake was delicious and the price was very reasonable. I won't be back because of the flies.

Pepper's Restaurant delivers an extraordinary dining experience that immerses patrons in the vibrant flavors of authentic Jamaican cuisine. I recently had the pleasure of visiting, and the culinary journey was nothing short of delightful. The food, a testament to the chef's expertise, was not only lovely but expertly seasoned, showcasing the essence of Jamaican cooking. The extensive menu offers a plethora of options, ensuring there's something for everyone. The atmosphere at Pepper's is truly spectacular, creating a memorable setting for a culinary adventure. The service is commendable, with a friendly and attentive staff that enhances the overall dining experience. The drinks bar complements the flavorful dishes, providing a well-rounded and satisfying meal. As someone with a discerning palate, I recommend trying the Fried fish or the curry fish – both exemplary choices that showcase the restaurant's culinary prowess. Pepper's Restaurant stands out as one of the premier dining establishments in Montego Bay. I wholeheartedly encourage others to explore the diverse offerings and experience the warmth of this culinary gem. From the welcoming ambiance to the delectable dishes, a visit to Pepper's is a culinary journey that transcends expectations. You'll find yourself recommending it to people from all walks of life, ensuring they too savor the excellence that defines this establishment.

Really nice atmosphere being on a plant filled green hill with views that are beautiful. You can sit “indoors” where it’s curtains that keep it an indoor place vs outdoors which has no curtains. Since the weather is lovely all year round and it’s 80 degrees with no humidity in winter (January 2024) it’s perfect. There are friendly and cute (and hungry) cats who are homeless and I wish I could take them home but I will resort to giving them a piece of my sweet plantains for now. The curry goat was good and spicy, the fried bammy (cassava) was really good and crispy and fresh, the sweet plantains were not very sweet, and the cabbage w the meal was cold and not cooked (I prefer it cooked) and not super fresh. Overall the experience is very lovely and there’s free self parking. The hut for indoor dining is centered w a beautiful tree.

    Wonderful experience.

The good part is that it has a decent somewhat rustic vibe. And our hostess and server were pleasant... Ordering a Caesar salad is not complicated. Romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, parmesan and fresh croutons... When you order a salad you want the whole plate to be filled with said salad...twas not... It was a very sad salad, a half chicken breast that was barely seasoned with salt and pepper, not romaine lettuce and very stale croutons. My fiance's steak was unfortunately chewy and the mashed potatoes had absolutely no seasoning. And on top of that the french fries were obviously fried in old oil because it tasted like old oil and it was burnt. Not even salt was added to it! What was also unfortunate, is when a customer dislikes a drink and does not drink it and asks for it to be changed that's common business practice to change the drink and not charge them for both drinks. I have never in my life of travel been to a restaurant and refused the opportunity to change my drink because of not enjoying it at first sip. I was told management does not allow it. There's no care or flavor added to any of the food served here. And for being a so-called hidden gem it falls very short. The food here definitely would put a bad representation of what Jamaican chefs and cuisine can accomplish. Even though the two of us not ever returning may not impact your business, but I will never suggest this place to my guests. I do hope that the quality improves in the future because I want all businesses to succeed.

This place came highly recommended by multiple locals so we had to check it out. The oxtail here is our of this world! We also had the jerk pork which was really good but prefer the one from The Pork Pit. Would definitely come back. Taxi ride from hotel was $15 USD each way (so $30 total which seems a bit steep considering the restaurant is less than 5 minutes away) There's karaoke, good ambiance and delicious food!

Yum! Yum! Yum! The food was SO GOOD! The ambiance was nice! The service... a tad slower than we'd liked, but you DEFINITELY want to check this place out if you are in Montego Bay! I can vouch for the ceaser salad, brown stewed fish and margarita. That fish was DELICIOUS! 😋

Great place to get some authentic Jamaican food. The server was fantastic! We were seated quickly and placed our order for lobster and chicken wings. While waiting for our food, we took the opportunity to take pictures of the beautiful hillside. The food was DELICIOUS and filling. So glad that we found this place!

Definitely going back, service was second to none. Food was very delicious and I loved the fact that if you order fish, you have the ability of going to the kitchen area and choose the fish you would like to have. Never had that experience in all my years of eating at any restaurant globally.

Delicious and reasonably priced! The atmosphere was great. Bonus if you love animals: there are a lot of friendly stray cats who will come up to greet you if you eat in the outside area. If you are a tourist make sure you take a cab up here as it is located on a steep, windy hill with no sidewalks. However, makes for a great view!

Place was pretty. Needed some kind of netting/ fly trap for the bugs while trying to eat. Brown stew sauce horrible. Had the fish well fried and seasoned but needed gravy for the dry food. Drinks were pretty and tasty.

Had an amazing experience. This spot has very good authentic Jamaican food. It is not far from the airport or beach. Always has good music and sometimes live performers. Very busy especially in the night. Prices are reasonable. Can pay in JMD or USD. Closes pretty late and can call in orders as well. Oxtail was falling off the bone!!! Try the mango spicy sauce on the tables as well. Delicious!

This is such a cool place as the name states, Peppa's Cool Spot in Montego Bay is a great place to get delicious food and drinks with a beautiful view. We got the goat curry, oxtail, conch and jerk chicken. My favorite was the goat curry and oxtail. The conch in the garlic sauce was pretty good too.

Arrived minutes to 2, and they were very busy. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. There's a really nice view if you know where to look. We were first seated outside, but it was too sunny, and the umbrellas didn't do much. We were then moved to the inside, which was very cool with a nice natural breeze blowing. Our order was taken, and we went to choose our fish, which were all snapper and my favourite type of fish. I ordered the brown stewed fish with steam veggies as a side. The veggies were salty, and the fish was bland. Very underseasoned. All in all, I was not pleased with my meal. But, I did love the atmosphere.

It was my first time attending peppers with friends who had gone a few days before. They enjoyed the meal and loved the atmosphere when they went. We went there for dinner and was seated immediately, our server was a young man and he was pleasant and kind. We ordered and within 15mins our meals arrived! Which was great timing. The food was really good! Highly recommend: Red Peas Soup, Oxtail, Curry Goat, Steamed Veg The side salad was good too. The roti wasn't all that nor was the white rice. The waiter came back and checked in on us a couple times and then when it came to the payment he sent the floor manager over to us. [This is where the 3* review comes into play] She came over and processed our payment on the card then she asked if we wanted to tip in cash or on card. I suggested cash because our currency was not in US nor JMD $$. I opened my wallet and started taking notes out not realised that I didn't have enough large bills to tip. I had cash reserved for a taxi the following morning so only offered the money I had spare. I handed the 2 notes over to her and she said "Let me see it” then said “So not even a dollar” before I could offer to tip on my card she rudely walked off. This was very bad customer service, and this costs our waiter a tip because I was willing to tip more, but I wanted to give the spare cash I had first while she was still processing the receipt from our card payment. So word of advice, either you don’t tip at all or just tip on card if possible cause It’s unclear how much cash would have been acceptable for them. But aside from her rudeness, the place is a vibe, good food and good views 🙂

Food was amazing. Authentic Jamaican cuisine at a great price. Can't beat that. It's all outdoor eating so be prepared for flies. At night Peppa's will be so beautiful with the lights. We were there just before dark.

We wanted to step out of our resort on our last day in Montego Bay and experience am authentic Jamaican restaurant experience. Peppa’s Cool Spot did not disappoint. The restaurant is entirely outdoors with a nice vibe. We came around 7pm so we got to experience it during the daylight and night. We were lucky enough to enjoy a karaoke night and a cool DJ playing some old school classics. The menu looked delicious so we ordered a lot! Everything looked beautiful and we enjoyed some meals more than others. The crawfish soup and the red snapper were amazing! Our oldest really enjoyed the chicken quesadillas. The curry goat and ox tail were liked by the parents and bravely tried by all the kiddos. The jerk chops were really tasty and carried some serious heat, too. The beef fajitas were served in sauce which took us by surprise. They were good, but not typical fajitas. All in all, a great time with the family at a really cool spot.

I could not stay away from Peppa’s in Montego Bay during my first trip to Jamaica. My hotel was within walking distance so I had dinner there all four nights. Service and drinks were outstanding and the food was even better. Salt fish fritters were an excellent appetizer and I had the red snapper twice. Oxtail was also amazing. This is a chill family owned business and my favorite part was talking to Peppa and his friends. Also came to appreciate Appleton Rum and brought two bottles home. Peppa’s is “real Jamaica” and I’ll be back for sure for the hospitality and vibe.

Good location on a hill. Breezy, good views. Chilled spot. Few cat and kittens were lingering by us waiting to be fed, bit annoying and slightly aggressive. I’m a cat lover too but still. We did see locals enjoying one whole fish for each person which we didn’t try. All spoke highly of the curry goat. It was okay. Jerk chicken was okay too. Good frozen Bob Marley.

So we get there at around 10: 45 about 15 minutes before they begin taking orders for the day. We wanted to sit near the flowers on the far side of the restaurant. We were told we could not and the young woman sat us in the middle. Okay, fine, it really didn't matter too much where we sat. Another family arrived 10 minutes after us and the same woman who sat us in the middle took their order shortly after they sat down. She didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink! The people who arrived after us also received their food before us. We kept telling the waitress that two of us had a plane to catch and that we needed to hurry and leave before 12pm. It seemed like we were being ignored. There were only two families in the restaurant to wait on so I can't blame it on she has so many tables to wait on and she's overwhelmed. Perhaps she had a lot going on in her personal life. When we received our food, it was 10 minutes until 12pm and the people who arrived after us were done with their meals. The food tasted really good but my rice came in a chipped bowl. Hopefully this was just a bad day to come. Next time, I expect to have a better experience but until then, two stars because the food was good and atmosphere was nice.

Peppa's was recommended by our taxi drive. All in all super happy we went. The drinks were heavy and delicious. The view and atmosphere were the main selling point here. The good left a little be desired though. The food wasn't bad but the flavor vs price was lopsided. Flavor was very mid but good. Definitely not upset we are here but good was a bit dry. The jerk chicken flavor was outstanding but the meat being dry took away from the appeal.

Good Day Everyone, As I frequent Jamaica I travel throughout the island at the suggestion of our favorite taxi driver we went to Peppas. We thought we could walk from our Airbnb on mango walk and a nice native gave us a free lift. On our visit it was an early afternoon. Unknowingly I sat next to Peppa himself and I had no clue who he was as his questions were only about my visit to Jamaica.Nice soft spoken gentleman who suggested I try the oxtails I said “you must come here often” he only smiled and reassured the oxtails would be a good menu choice ,they were perfect. The best Bob Marley I have ever had. It gets crowded pretty quickly and there are multiple locations but this one in MoBay had really good food. It was not until our taxi driver picked us up I was told it was Peppa. 😊Vibe is true Jamaican relaxed and the crowds were mature. When I go on top road again I will definitely stop to grab a meal. Follow Mi on Google Maps to see my Jamaican Journeys😊

The place was virtually empty and they would not let us sit at a table in the cool shade just in case a bigger party were to come, even though most of the tables were empty and there were plenty of larger tables. We waited very long to get our drinks and then longer to order. The waitress kept disappearing and did not talk properly. They served us cold oxtail. My sister had to ask them to take it back, and she ended up just sharing my food. The Buffalo wings and the chicken alfredo were very good. The mango daquori was good, but my sister asked for a virgin one, and they brought it with alcohol. It had to be remade. We ended up leaving without dessert because we were so turned off by the service. We had to wait a long time for the waitress to give us the bill.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was not impressive. My curried goat dish was mostly bones (it was tasty though), the shrimp kabob was burnt and the quesadillas had very little substance. We waited a long time for takeout.

Ya Mon! This place is actually really dope. Food was excellent to be honest and you can tell they had a little bit of everything , some American cuisine / Mexican / Italian (if you want to call it that) with the Jamaican dishes on the menu as well. The view is awesome , superb view of the ocean and a glimpse of the streets . They have nice shade and a cool bar lounge area , a smoking section and of course all the tables in the middle. I ordered a grilled shrimp skewers , very good nice and charcoal taste from the grill with a slap of bbq sauce on it. As main I got Surf & Turf , it was a flank steak and a lobster (I chose it to be made with the cream garlic sauce). I’m not going to lie the cream sauce was pretty good . 8-9 out of 10. Steak was a bit chewy man but the taste was good. I had to leave for the airport so I didn’t get to indulge desserts but I must say the sides were amazing. The rice and peas so full of flavor , not bland compared to a lot of other spots. Plantains were great and fresh as well. I was with some friends so I also tried some oxtail , that was great full of flavor as well (sorry no pic!). Again all the food looked amazing so I’m coming back to try more. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in Montego Bay, Jamaica ! Ya mon respect to the chef !

The opening hours are not up to date and when we arrived they told us that they could only bring us the food in a box. They took 40 mins to do so and even when we finished eating there were still people at the restaurant being served so we could have been served normally instead of in a box.

I have dined at this spot 3 different times. First time was horrible. I was in the large group of people and every single thing possible went wrong. We were waiting for water more than 45 min and another hour to hear that our dinner meal choices were not available. It took me another year to come back as I kept on hearing great feedback from others. This time around it was a lunch with a friend. Food came relatively fast, however rice had a strong taste of soap. I pointed it out to the waitress, she tasted it in front of me and couldn't even swallow it. She immediately took it back to the kitchen. She returned in 5 min stating that chef said rice was fine... That was odd as she herself couldnt eat it. I asked her to replace it with anything else and she said she couldn't... I got disappointed and only returned a year later with few friends. This time around, their menu had a mistake with pricing.. and they would refuse to take price printed on the menu. In addition, meal options were hit and miss. I truly believe they need to reduce a choice of items on the menu, especially the ones they don't know how to prepare I.e Cesar salad, every item in that salad was wrong as they used iceberg lettuce, Italian dressing and bread crumbs instead of croutons. It was a salad but definitely not Cesar. Jamaican dishes and burger were ok tasting but not great. On a positive side, service seemed better during my 3rd visit. But also there was only one more table and us. Overall, I am not sure I can recommend this place due to my previous experiences.

The food was not great and the service was bad, hopefully the service and food would have improved based on promises made by the manager. That is why they got two star instead of one

Food was really good, I didn’t enjoy the rice and beans too much however the curry goat and cabbage and my rum punch was so good, the views from this restaurant are amazing, beautiful scenery and lovely vibe to the restaurant and it’s not far from Montego Bay airport.

Peppa’s is a chill spot where you can either choose to sit out side under umbrellas or inside which ever you choose it’s guaranteed a great time and good service.

Outstanding customer service. Both the curry goat and the oxtails were delicious, and both dishes were reasonably priced. This was my first time patronizing this establishment. I will be going back.
