I had the curry conch and the conch scampi. The portion size was ok given the price. It took a while for the food to arrive as there was many orders and only one cook so be prepared to wait for a bit if it is busy. The curry conch was soft and tender and the texture was similar to that of abalone. The curry sauce was good, even though it wasn't as spicy as the curry conch at Roti King. I enjoyed the curry conch but the sides (cole slaw and potato salad) that I chose were forgettable. The conch scampi was also delicious. Soft and tender conch in a garlic butter sauce. Yum! For my sides on this dish, the fries were good, the macaroni pie so so. I would go back again for both the curry conch and the conch scampi.

From day one some 5+ years ago, Alligators has been my go to restaurant for affordable, delicious and satisfying meals. Stop by and it's like you're not in St. John's anymore 😊

It definitely was a top restaurant in Antigua. They have a different menu on Saturdays and Sundays. Food was delicious and served quickly, plus it’s located right beside Heritage Quay. Their closing hours defer from what’s written on their Google page so call in advance if you’re going after 6PM.

We love eating where the locals eat and this restaurant does not disappoint! The service is prompt and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. We loved the ribs in the rosemary bbq sauce! The vegetables were fresh and the fried plantains were sweet. If you like ginger beer, it had a strong ginger taste. We definitely would recommend this restaurant and would return again.

Usually my place to go in Antigua is Roti King as I am obsessed with their shrimp roti. However, on this visit I decided to try something different. I was terrified because I hate being disappointed with food. But I decided to take a walk anyway and I saw the Alligator Bar & Restaurant sign. Figured it can't hurt to try. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. My meal was the conch and shrimp in garlic sauce (done to order but service was quick) with a side of macaroni pie and fried sweet/ripe plantain and a tall glass of ginger juice. The garlic sauce was very flavourful.. so good that I did not have to add any pepper. I love my seafood dish with plenty pepper, but the sauce was so good that the pepper was not necessary. The macaroni pie was good (before you Bajans ask...no, not as good as yours 😊 but I enjoyed it). No comment on the plantain because plantain is life 😎. And the ginger juice had a serious kick, I dam near choked, but that's how i like it. Then to finish off, I had the local beer "Wadadli" and a piece of chocolate rum cake (why not, I was in vacation mode so alcohol on top of alcohol). I definitely recommend. One love and Safe travels.

Great location. In the heart of the city. Parking can be an issue. Food was less than stellar but not horrible. Only place on the island that I know of which serves rabbit meat. The local drinks were watery and not very refreshing. Not sure if I'll give them another try. Sorry.

We asked our taxi driver for a recommendation on where to eat and he told us about this place. We dined in and ordered the fried shrimp. We had peas and rice, macaroni pie, and potato salad as sides between the two of us. Everything was delicious. I only wish there was more shrimp with the meal. There were only 5 pieces. It was delicious!

The food is great, the setting makes you feel like you are not in the city. It is a nice place to have lunch with friends, you will forgot about the time and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Was recommended this spot from a staff member at the Royalton in which we were staying at. After taking a cab there to eat local food, it wasn't mad. Try the Conch! It is very good. I wasn't a big fan of the Fungi unfortunately. It didn't taste like anything. Not a bad spot for local food, and it is located in an area where you can shop for souvenirs as well.

Insanely reasonable meal prices. (Burgers for $12 ECD, US$4.50) The passion fruit drink is great, flavorful and not too sweet. There is a variety of food choices that will satisfy everyone. The conch was deliciously tender and nicely flavored. The fungi is a local favorite, it's like polenta. The fried sweet plantains were delicately crispy and slightly sweet. All the meals were tasty. The noise level was pretty low and being outside was refreshing.

An amazing place for lunch in the heart of St John’s! I was attracted by its colourful, inviting decor and its varied menu. I ordered a plate that came with two sides. I chose conch as the main dish and I loved its texture and the sauce! It reminded me of the meat of smaller conches that I used to have as a kid in southeastern China - but similar food is so obscure on menus in Canada. I chose fried plantain as one of the sides, and the portion was quite small, but I loved the fungee - thank you to the waitress for explaining what it is to me, I didn’t know it was the national dish of Antigua when I first saw it! Overall, a delicious, filling, and affordable lunch. Plus, the washroom was really clean!

This a busy little restaurant at lunch time! We went to Alligators twice during our recent stay near St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. It was such a good idea to go there in the first place. The chicken dishes are particularly good. Pineapple chicken with a side of rice and peas was a perfect choice. This clean restaurant (including the washrooms!) caters to both Antiguans and visitors. On both occasions, our server was just outstanding! Highly recommended!

Great place to grab lunch. I LOVE the variety. Thanks to Alligators I waa able to try rabbit for the first time and quite enjoyed the experience. The stir fry chicken and shrimp is also really tasty. Alligators will be seeing me many times in the future. You've got to try it for yourself. ** See Full Review On Instagram @gourmetdelion **

We had the chicken and shrimp in garlic cream sauce. Delicious and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the local beer and my wife had the rum punch.

Tucked away slightly off a main street, surprisingly spacious for eat-in, this eatery will make you leave with a smile. Local dishes, made on order, await the adventurous and the familiar. I saw tourists and locals having a ball,

The food was amazing. We took it to go. I had creole snapper with macaroni pie and green salad. My son had pineapple wings with french fries. The only reason why I gave a 4 stars is because it took forever for the food to come out. Honestly, it was really busy today with only 2 staff members (the cook and the server who did everything from taking orders, making drinks, packing the food etc). I certainly recommend though.
