Have you ever wandered in the back alleys looking for that quintessential local place that has real food and real prices where locals eat? This is your spot. I am a very finicky eater. I don't like a lot of cuisines...go figure, after traveling to 47 countries. I asked them to give me a typical local breakfast. I ate it ALL before I thought to take a picture. It was salt fish, choppum, and baks. DELICIOUS! I do not like plantain, so that was all that was left on my plate. The back of the counter was a busy little group of women who look like my grandma's club sisters preparing Sunday dinner for the pastor's family visit, but the outdoor space was bright, colorful, spacious, shaded, and inviting. Yeah...this is a great local spot for real food!

Enjoyed their plant-based meal. Chickpeas with spinach greens. Some nice options for non meat eaters

Hidden in a little alley in the building is this GEM! My boyfriend and I were looking for a place open early, and we found Paradise Cafe. While we were here we only saw locals. AMAZING local food, friendly, fast and good prices. We came here during breakfast and the customers were local. Service was pretty fast!!! All prices in pictures are in local currency!!!! Try the cheeseroll, roti or the fried dumpling!!!

What a find local food, reasonably priced, seating under shade or take away. Most customers were locals taking the food away with them. We ate there and took our left overs back with us.

Great variety of food. Update: Awesome vibe the decor has been improved over the years. Nice comfy spot. And the owners Richie & Simone are delightful and provide excellent customer service. Check out their Friday night karaoke.

My wife and I we're here on a cruise and wanted to find authentic local food. This was a hidden gem. We got the curry chicken and they put it in some kind of a wrap. We both found it very tasty. And we had some kind of pastry that wasn't too sweet but very flavorful.

On our excursion to St. John’s we discovered the Paradise Cafe and had an excellent lunch (oxtail stew and chicken curry). Many locals eat there or come for their takeaway. Food was just gorgeous. Very well organized and friendly.

A small cafe serving local food. There are a few plastic tables and chairs for outdoor seating. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was tasty. It is tucked into a mall area and a bit hard to find. I would come back here readily.

Came by to Paradise cafe at least 3 times for some good authentic guyanese food with a old friend. So yummy, fresh and worth every EC possible. My trip to Antigua was nothing without Paradise and RUNAWAY BEACH! Go to both and thank me later . Oh, parking is horrendous but you will find parking and it will be worth all the headache.
