St. John’s Cathedral is a short walk from the cruise terminal. Originally built in 1683, twice destroyed by earthquakes. Last time rebuilt in 1845. The exterior is in a somewhat romantic state of ancient ruin: a lot of windows are boarded as well as the second tower clocks. The interior however is what stands this cathedral apart: entirely wood laden (ceiling included) it resembles a ship of the era of great geographical discoveries complete with stained glass windows.

Definitely has the feel of being the centre of town. On top of a hill with great views. This Old Cathedral is crumbling and in need of love. In my opinion the most magnificent building in town. Worth a walk to see

This is a beautiful and very old Cathedral on the island of Antigua and Barbuda. It is currently under restoration construction, but you can still trip around inside and out. We did not take a tour, we just walked from downtown, at the cruise port. It's about a 10 minute walk, and worth checking out if you like spending 10-20 minutes looking at a bit of history. There aren't any plaques or posters explaining the history of the church, but there were individuals on sight if you had questions. The inside is beautiful and looks fresh and new.

Nice church located in downtown. On the outside on one of the side there is the cemetery and a store that sells souvenirs. Inside the church everything is done with wood, when you look from the entrance the church is a cross shape. The organ if beautiful.

We attended the Easter service 2018. We were vacation visitors to this parish. The congregation was very welcoming to us as newcomers. The music, service and historical architecture was awesome. If you are an Anglican tourist to Antigua, then you should share a Sunday service here.

This is a Wonderful Anglican Cathedral in the midst of a Massive Renovation!! It really isn't a Five Star, but I hope that they will succeed in this Huge Endeavor. The Church is only recently opened within the last year or so. See the graveyard and old weatherbeaten crypts. Inside the new refurbished pews are remarkably beautiful. Give them a few dollars and pray for their success!!

It was sadly closed when we got to it. Walking through town its out of place as the building around it are newer and colorful. But the outside is beautiful. Great place to see if your in town

Nice to look at from the outside I would have liked to go inside but the only open entrance had someone sketchy with a ripped cardboard sign demanding an entrance fee that in no way seemed legit.

Beautiful church in the midst of restorations. According to locals it falls 15 million short in money to complete the restoration hopefully they can find the money as it is the most majestic structure on the island. Definitely worth a peak

We came back in November 2021 after our 1st visit in 2018 to see how the renovations inside this beautiful Cathederal had turned out and found it closed and the grounds inaccessiable, so sad I was really looking forward to seeing the progress, It sounds as if it is still the same so won't be looking around this year either

Beautiful architecture for a historical church. Although it is under restoration it is worth visiting. Great view of the cityscape from the top of the church.

This was a truly magical experience because a children’s choir was in the middle of practicing and the directors were kind and allowed some of us to sit in and listen. The architecture is beautiful, but the true beauty, for me, came from listening to the songs fill the room.

A very decadent, interesting exterior on the top of a hill overlooking the city centre and the harbour. The local stones are dramatically blackened by lichens and the overgrown vegetation might make the cathedral look a bit spooky. The wooden tidy interiors don’t really match the facades, but it’s overall a pleasant, quiet place for relax, meditation or just a quick stop during the city tour.

A wonderful cathedral just on the outskirts of the town. We were there on a Sunday a service was being taken so could not look around as much as hoped. The fabric of the building is certainly in need of some tlc.

👍👍 Beautiful catholic cathedral devoted to the Lady of Lourdes. Big enough to seat at least 600 comfortably. Sundays morning holy mass is celebrated at 9 a.m. The choir is good in their Caribbean drums, just amazing.
