Beautiful beach, great to snorkeling. You can see sea turtles

This place was exactly what you want in a Caribbean beach...at least in the off season. A sting ray jump clear out of the water about 50 meters from shore. The turtles were poking their heads out of the water to catch a breath as they munched on the seagrass below. There are no currents and the bouyancy makes it impossible to sink, so the kids can snorkel and frolic freely. There is a small shipwreck. I snorkeled out with an eight-year-old who is afraid of EVERYTHING, including the shipwreck! We only had full face snorkel mask, no fins. It was off-season, so I was alone on the small beach, Freeman Beach, which had really good shaded area, but bring a sitting towel or beach chair. There are a couple of hotels and one defunct hotel with abandoned bungalows on the beach. You can climb a small hill and get a great panorama view. All-in-all, this is a nice little place.

Now there's no such thing as a guaranteed turtle sighting, but we came here twice and saw turtles both times. Also saw a family of squid which was cool. There are two shipwrecks in the bay as well so it's absolutely work coming here if you are in Antigua. Only downside is a lot of tour operators come here (you can understand why!)

Galleon beach ia a great beach, took a smallboat from the harbour to the beach. Don't know if this is a regular service, the guy was there in his boat and charged us about 20usd to take us across to the beach and pickup from the beach later. Guy did return on time. Sand is clean and water clear. At the southern end is a trail you can walk which goes around the headland with great views out to sea ending at Shirley Heights.

Stunning Beach ! Galleon Beach is beautiful! The color of the water is bright and pretty; It’s also not very cold of a temperature in it. It is however rocky on the entrance of the water so you may need to consider that for kids. There is a beach bar on the beach (kinda pricey but good vibe) . On one end is also a high end resort and on the other end is a view right beneath Shirley Heights. There is a restroom on property as well. I saw groups of people snorkeling and having great fun and a few other water sports activities happening. I enjoyed it.

Absolutely amazing beach , shallow calm water and a shipwreck with loads of fish swimming around it, saw a hawksbill few times also , probably my favourite beach. There are couple of hiking trails starting not far from this beach going to Shirley heights.. stunning views over Freeman's bay and English harbour.

A beautiful location for the views but the beach has lots of broken shells, and coral chunks. The water has large rocks and seaweed close to shore. Parking is very sparse. The breakers have great turtle grounds we'll see later.

Beautiful beach 🏝️ great piña colada. If you’re lucky, you can see some sea turtles 🐢 in the left side of the beach when you snorkeling 🤿

Snorkeling with Berni at this location was such a great experience. First time we snorkeled and was so great to have a great snorkeler like Bernie to take us out and guide us to so many places of interest in the bay. He didn't quit till he found us some turtles ... FANTASTIC!!

In our short stay on Antigua we visited Galleon Beach twice: first - because we visited nearby English Harbor and wanted to go to a beach close to it, and second time - because we liked it so much and because we wanted to get to the Hercules Pillars. One note on the latter, btw - have a pair of good swimming shoes with you if you want to hike there (very doable). The beach bar on the Galleon Beach isn’t cheap (what is on Antigua?) but it worth it - food is good and cocktails are well made.

This beach is truly a sight to behold, with breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. The crystal-clear water is so inviting, and the soft, powdery sand beneath your feet feels like walking on clouds. It's the perfect place to spend a leisurely day, basking in the warm sunshine and listening to the soothing rhythm of the waves gently lapping against the shore. The rum Academy is also close by.

I stayed in English Harbor and rented snorkeling gear at AVA water sports ($15/day) and was told by the owner that Galleon was the best snorkeling on the island. You can go right off the beach, but I would walk all the way to the left and use the path to walk further out before getting in. The pillars were harder to access because there’s no easy entry point so be careful!! Great beach and a very good spot for lunch and drinks.

One of the nicer beaches in the southern/Atlantic side of the island. Decent restaurant, pool and bar on the west side of the beach and you can even bring your drinks into the sea of that's your thing. Sea life is easy to find with schools of colorful fish, sea slugs, anemones, shrimp and other assorted critters. Sea turtles apparently nest on the eastern side of the beach but we didn't see any. Bring lots of sunscreen, water, and ideally googles and a snorkel.

Love this beach, it’s quiet and the sand is smoooooth. There are two ship wreaks so look out for them if you’re snorkelling. You might see some turtles too.

Gorgeous clear water perfect for snorkeling with so much to see. Watch out for sea urchins on the rocks.

Amazing place to snorkel and swim! Can be a bit busy but it’s a beautiful sandy beach!

👍👍 Colibri is a breath of fresh air into the English Harbor area. The French menu is well thought out with options for all while keeping a pinch of the Antigua flavor.
