Our
10
year
old
believes
donkeys
are
his
spirit
animal.
When
he
saw
the
signs
for
the
Donkey
Sanctuary
he
got
super
excited.
We
visited
mid-way
through
our
week’s
vacation.
He
wasn’t
disappointed.
It
is
a
simple
rescue,
nothing
fancy,
but
Carol
was
warm
and
welcoming.
Told
us
the
stories
of
how
the
donkeys
got
to
their
new
home,
gave
us
brushes
to
groom
them,
we
came
close
to
feeding
time
so
we
heard
the
donkeys
braying
in
excitement.
The
sanctuary
is
on
35
acres
but
the
area
close
to
the
main
entrance
had
approx.
20
donkeys.
Full
disclosure
-
massive
amounts
of
donkey
poo
everywhere
🤣🤣,
but
shockingly
enough,
we
didn’t
smell
a
thing.
Our
son
left
with
a
t-shirt,
a
crocheted
donkey
keychain...and
an
adopted
donkey
named
Pumpkin,
full
with
adoption
certificate!)
who
Carol
said
she’ll
email
updated
pics
of
this
summer.
The
entire
experience
made
our
little
guys
day
♥️.
