My overall experience was very pleasant but as a Black family I felt targeted whenever I went to the beach or walked around the grounds. Members of the staff and a security guard on 2 occasions, questioned why I was sitting on the lounging chairs reserved for guess. They apologized on each occasion but left me feeling very uncomfortable as if they did not feel I belonged and that hurts. On one occasion the staff admitted he had mistaken me for an Antiguan and didn’t realize I was a guess. Aside from those experiences, my overall stay was beautiful, the staff and management were mostly friendly and accommodating. They did whatever was necessary to ensure a great experience. The food was delicious. You had a choice of 3 restaurants. Two of which were romantic. The entertainment was ok. I would incorporate more Caribbean music, some comedy or maybe Karaoke.

A very nice all inclusive resort on a quiet beach. The property is really nice and the service is top notch. The most surprising thing is the culinary level of the food. It is 5 star level for a hotel. I wish they had some more top shelf liquor options but nothing is perfect. This year the bugs are crazy so bring lots of bug spray and After Bite. A special place that is highly recommended.

This has to be the most incredible place I’ve visited on the island The staff are incredible, the scene is beautiful and tropical, the location of being on the beach and waking up to the sand and the waves every morning, and the local food along with the menu changing every night for variety! If you are visiting Antigua I would recommend this beautiful resort I’m really sad to be leaving here!

This place is absolutely amazing!! My husband and I went for our honeymoon and were so impressed. This place is perfect for a quiet, peaceful, & romantic getaway (not a good match if you're looking for more of a party-vibe - it's pretty quiet here). Pros: - incredibly clean rooms & attentive housekeeping/staff - towels replaced & minifridge restocked daily - staff are all so friendly & helpful - see blurb below for an example - DELICIOUS food and great drinks - they don't skimp on the alcohol! - gorgeous grounds - all the plants/landscaping are perfectly tended to and it creates such a lovely ambiance - eco-friendly - they grow almost all of their of produce, compost food waste, and have bird & tortoise sanctuaries on site - quiet and not crowded - they only have 98 guest rooms and no hotels next door/in the same area so it's very peaceful overall and lots of space on the beach - live music nightly Cons: - no late night food - I just want some 11pm nachos ya know - occasionally run out of beach towels but not a big deal - just wait like 30 mins and there'll be more Also, I want to highlight how incredible the staff is with a quick story: I lost a diamond earring but only realized when we got home. I called the resort and they didn't find anything in lost & found, but they had housekeeping search the room we stayed in (it was still unoccupied). They found my earring and made arrangements to mail it back to me in the states! This was such a wonderful surprise and I am so grateful to the staff's dedication, attention to detail, and overall level of care.

If you are considering vacation on Antigua please look here! Absolutely flawless experience! I came here on my honeymoon and everything was perfect. The resort is stretched out across a beautiful beach with 3 incredible restaurants plus snack bar, coffee shop, and a rum bar. There are water sports available included in the fee (snorkel, sailing, etc.) and delicious drinks served all day. The staff is so friendly and genuine. The manager Derrick and the front desk staff were so helpful when on the resort and helping to plan off resort trips. The food was so amazing and the views are incredible no matter where you are on the resort. They even had bands performing each night we were there. Overall they just made everything perfect for our special occasion.

We had a great time here. Food was great, portions just right. Drinks great what ever you wanted . Not crowded , nothing rushed, everything in good supply. Good service with a smile every time . The rum shack was excellent. It's not just for rum tasting, it's a great little bar and drinking place - so try it if you get the opportunity. Try rums you won't see elsewhere on the resort. The main thing is that you can't say which of the staff or management are best or most friendly. They are all, bar none helpful, friendly , welcoming and efficient. We even spoke at length to the chief gardener who explained what plants and trees where where and when he planted them - some 25 years ago. The plants, shrubs and trees on the resort are stunning . They should organise a tour by this horticultural genius , He's an unsung hero of Galley Bay. We enjoyed our time at Galley Bay and look forward to returning .

We just returned from our second visit to this wonderful resort and we already cannot wait to return. It truly is paradise. The staff is top notch and so friendly. We felt at home the entire time. The service and level of professionalism is impeccable. The resort is stunning and everything is so clean and fresh. The beach is fantastic and so relaxing. The food is delicious and fresh. We love the option of 3 restaurants and the nightly live entertainment is a big plus after dinner. You will not be disappointed in Galley Bay. We didn’t leave the resort once during our week and couldn’t have been happier!

I can see why people return to Galley Bay again and again, it's simply incredible! The food is outstanding, even if you're vegetarian or plant-based they cater to it with delicious options. They even have a whole separate vegan breakfast menu, all of which are outstanding and full of flavour. We also loved how the food felt so clean and wholesome, everything was so fresh! Ground floor rooms open directly onto the beach, they are so beautiful! The upper floors have incredible views and vaulted ceilings that are just breathtaking. The pool is gorgeous with a waterfall feature that is so relaxing, and perfect for when the sea is too choppy! We loved seeing baby turtles going out to sea, this hotel is a nature haven filled with different wildlife that always made us smile. What sets it apart is how personalised the service is, even though it's an all-inclusive, the standards are so high whilst still keeping a true Caribbean charm around the place.

Absolute 5 star experience. I did a lot of research about an all inclusive I could take my Mother to to celebrate her 70th birthday. I wanted a spot with top notch food, fun activities, a beautiful beach- somewhere we wouldn't need to leave for 5 days, and where we can relax. This place fit EVERYTHING I was looking for and was so much more! We went out on the hobbie cat to explore and snorkel (included!), I went paddle boarding, my mom loved seeing all the different birds and lizzards- and we thought everyone who worked there was so friendly, and each meal was so delicious. I wish we had longer to stay. I highly, highly recommend.

Relaxing luxury break We had an unexpected bonus in watching a leatherback turtle lay her eggs on the beach. The hotel called in a specialist team who made sure the turtle was safe and got people involved taking measurements and photos. The location is perfect - a 1/2 mile stretch of beach with most of the rooms having direct access. The restaurants are all excellent - ranging from a beach bbq to formal dining. All a la carte. We drank in the teepee bar and run shack - both very friendly I think the hotels biggest asset are the staff. All a credit to the place - friendly & professional. This was our second visit to Galley Bay and we’ll be back again.

All around an AMAZING resort. My husband and I WILL be back . The staff was outstanding. The food was unforgettable , the beach was breathtaking. Not a single bad thing to say . If we didn't have a flight back home we would've stayed longer. Loved our stay at galley bay resorts!

We went here for our honeymoon in October and this place is romantic and quiet. They have tasteful, live music every night, very chill, just what you’d want on a relaxing vacation. I’ve traveled quite a bit and I have to say this was one of the nicest resorts I’ve ever stayed in. Most notably the food was top notch, breakfast, lunch and dinner were equally amazing. Even the Barefoot Grill for snacks had the most delicious burgers and quesadillas. Everything was just so fresh and tasty! And the chef Nathaniel introduces himself to guests and checks in to make sure food is satisfactory. In fact, the manager introduces himself to guests as well, checks in to make sure you’re enjoying your stay. We stayed in a beachfront room which was delightful. The rooms are clean and updated. Our AC had some leaking but maintenance did address the issue and guest services followed up with us to make sure it was resolved. Ample availability at the pool, no need to reserve seats. My only recommendation would be to add a swim up bar. But they do have servers and there’s a little button on the chairs/umbrellas to request a server. The only other thing I would caution about is we traveled in October which is their rainy/hurricane season. We did get hit with a level 1 hurricane (which was more like a tropical storm). Food was delivered to our rooms the night the storm hit as the restaurants had to close but were up and running the next day as the storm was winding down. With rain does come sand fleas and I got eaten alive. We tried to go to Ismay’s one night after the hurricane and had to leave because the bugs were so bad. A couple other parties left as well. Too bad because it was lovely, romantic, had little huts but we just couldn’t bear the bug bites and bugs all over the tables. Normally they fog to prevent these bugs but this storm was unexpected and they were super apologetic. We did a couples massage which was exquisite! We heard other people had massages and were as equally impressed. Overall, we had a wonderful honeymoon at Galley Bay.

Thank you to the team at Galley Bay for taking such good care of us. Special thanks to Colina at reception, head chef Jeremiah, Elaine at the Rum Punch bar and Sandi at the Sea Grapes. What a beautiful resort, the food was delicious, excellent customer service and very comfortable surroundings. Richard from the front desk showed us around the resort on arrival and we fell in love with the place. Make sure you try the Five Island Flapjacks, you won't be disappointed.

Galley bay is a really lovely resort with something for everyone. Beautiful setting .Romantic if that’s your thing. Activity as you’d expected on a resort but really unobtrusive. Normally I won’t stay in a resort style hotel but I’ve stayed in a Gauguin cottage- very quirky and fun to live in for a few days , and I’ve been able to have the quiet undisturbed holiday I’d hoped for. Wildlife around the lagoon is amazing. The sea can be a little rough for swimming and I have to say that I was a bit moody ( sorry Alfred - but you made me laugh anyway ) when I first arrived and saw the waves however don’t despair, talk to the guys at the waterspouts hut ,they showed me were to swimming and took me out snorkelling - thanks Shiloh! Finally I have dietary restrictions and the chef came out to talk it through with me on arrival ( veggie food was good) all of the staff have been friendly and helpful and I am not an easy customer- so many thanks !

Well, not really sure where to start. That's how amazing this place was. The staff, the beach, the food, the drinks... Everything was PERFECT. The staff knew our names after day 1. Lynette, Mike, Natasha, Joan, Cheryl... and many more. I cannot express in words how wonderful of a time we had here. It's the perfect place for a honeymoon. I have severe allergies to about 4 things and this place knew what they were doing. The head chef went out of his way to meet with me every few days to make sure everything was OK and I could eat what was on the menu. It's romantic, quiet, beautifully kept, and all around dreamy. We will be coming for years to come as this is now our spot. Thank you for making our honeymoon perfect, Galley Bay!

Blown away. Amazing food, top notch service, incredible location. Quiet, adult only with virtually a private beach as its contained between 2 giant hills, one with Georgio Armani's house! I have been to a lot of resorts throughout the Caribbean, and this was the best. A la carte dining for all meals with huge variety, fresh ingredients grown on the property, and always interesting local choices you have never experienced anywhere else. Head Chef Nathaniel needs a raise ASAP! Service level is high with a very large staff, all of which are very professional and most very friendly if you get them chatting. Thanks to Arianne for making us smile every day, she was a gem! Romario in water sports gave us our own private sunfish sail narrated tour into Deep Bay, which was a blast. Great guy! I don't know when, but we have to go back. Keep up the good work Galley Bay!

We just came back from our first visit to the Caribbean and to Galley Bay Resort and it was everything we had hoped our vacation would be. It’s a smaller and secluded adults only resort that is quiet and has an older clientele. The grounds are tropical and beachy with wildlife like the Whistling Ducks with their mohawks, the Antillean Crested Hummingbird and some tortoises. Our large beachfront suite was on the ground floor so we could walk out onto our patio and directly onto the beach to enjoy the amazing ocean views. The water can get quite rough with no swimming allowed but if you want a dip go and enjoy the resort pool. The food. It can make or break a trip but there are no worries at Galley Bay. Everything was delicious. There are 3 restaurants and a grill. We ate at all of them and were never disappointed. The food is fresh, flavourful and innovative. For lunch and dinner there are 3 courses with 5-6 options in each course. Portion sizes were perfect. We had the pleasure of meeting the head chef a couple of times, a friendly gent who asked about our stay and how we were enjoying our meals. Overall, the staff were very congenial and hardworking with just a handful who appeared to not care or want to be there. We truly enjoyed ourselves and the relaxing week we spent at Galley Bay. This is not a party resort. It’s a beautiful serene place to unwind, enjoy the warm sunny weather, have a few tropical drinks and wish you could stay forever. We would definitely go back again!
