Just come back from a great holiday. We stayed on the side with the pool. Had a really nice time. A hotel can be good but often what makes a great hotel is the staff and it was so nice to meet some great staff. Sorry I’m not good at remembering names but Sharma (receptionist on pool side)was really nice and the Scottish lady. Both were really friendly and took the time to talk and help us with anything. A real credit to the hotel. Also the nice chap that worked on the boat Cecil I think he’s been there years. He was also very friendly and clearly good at his job. My only negative to the hotel for me is when paying a lot per night I would expect fresh orange juice. It’s a little thing but for me it’s what I like. I do understand you might have to import that as the waitress told me but we have to do that in England. If people are paying a lot I think fresh is not asking to much. 👍

We were honored to be guests of this incredible hotel. Photos that we can find on internet doesn't reflect the reality : this place is magical. First of all, the hotel is located in a very historical place : Nelson's Dockyard. It means that we are staying in Horatio's Nelson's ancient property. This is absolutely insane, being so close to the history. Then, we came during the Sailing Week, so the place was always animated, we even assisted to a Reggae's Festival and saw some traditional dancer's. Besides, we can really relax and feel calm in this place. There's nothing about very American ou European resort, without a personality. Here, we are surrounded with culture, with the soul of the island. The staff was the best I've ever met. These people are the most friendly guys in the world and I can't be more grateful for the experience that they've offered us. Everyone was kind, helpful, super interesting and extremely professional. We learned a lot during this trip and we're on our knees with gratitude for being welcomed so warmly. There's nothing bad that I can say about this place : wonderful pool, great cocktails, breakfasts and truffle fries. The accommodation is very clean and we stay in a historical place. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, this is a true jewel in Antigua.

We stayed at the Admirals Inn for 9 nights over Christmas. Had a great time. Staff were extremely friendly fro the front desk to restaurant staff to cleaners. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had breakfast a few times in the restaurant and it was really nice and great value. We also had the odd evening meal which was also excellent. There are canoes, kyacs and paddle boards available for use. The pool is over at the sister hotel (Boom) but this is via a very short boat ride (100yards). Would definitely stay here again. My only negative comment is that the Christmas day dinner wasn't as refined as all other perfect meals at the restaurant. Was a bit messy and quite salty. But that wouldn't stop me going back. A little tip: take ear plugs as the frogs at night are pretty loud.

My great-grandfather was born in one of these buildings back in the day! He then owned and ran the inn here for quite some time. This was back in the 1800s though. Perhaps I should have asked for ownership back...?

This is not a review of the hotel, but the outdoor seated bar. You’ll find this is about the only place to get a well needed drink in Nelson Dockyard and as such is reflected in the prices. There’s ample shaded seating outside to mix with the local Grackles, but expect a hefty bill for those drinks

An absolute gem, the hotel is incredible, the staff are fantastic and the food is superb. Great service by boat to Galleon beach, Boom on the Gunpowder side is a great place to relax, eat and drink. I love this place!

Go to the restaurant here! We didn’t stay at the Inn but the restaurant was gorgeous! Absolutely loved the feel, look and vibe of the entire place. The food was the best we had on the island!

Lovely boutique Hotel in the dock yard. Fantastic location. Loads of nice spots to do lunch and dinner are easily accessible by boat, on foot or cab. If you stay at Gun Powder Suites as we did you can walk or get the hotel boat to the main hotel for breakfast. That’s a nice experience. Fantastic views. Absolutely spotless and the housekeepers will do anything for you. Pool is much smaller than it looks but the pool, Boom Restaurant and garden area are nice places to hang out. It’s well run, the staff are lovely and the food is nice. It’s very casual. It can get noisy if large groups or families with small children are booked for the day. Other days it’s tranquil. The hotel boat will drop you off and pick you up at Galleon Beach. Gorgeous little beach with fun beach shack. They have a few beds for rent but no shade. You can find the odd bit of shade under a tree if you don’t mind relaxing on a towel. The harbour/dock yard has a really fun social life and it’s very joyous. We loved it. One negative for us is that if you do want to relax in the shade on a sun bed on the beach you can’t unless you book a beach club, which we did. However, it does mean you explore the island. The other negative was that we initially booked for 7 nights and before we arrived, extended to 9 which meant we had to move rooms. That was fine. However, we couldn’t use the balcony at our first suite because, depending on the wind, we were rendered nauseous from the sewage smell. We spoke to the hotel and they never quite got around to addressing it…….I put it down to a historic property and island life. The second suite was interconnected to another which meant that we could hear the bodily functions, sex noises etc of the people in the next room. We didn’t mention it until we left as we only had two nights and we were out most of the time. Don’t book an interconnecting room unless you’re a family. All in all a good spot to explore the island despite the negatives. People on the island are very friendly and it’s fun without being too crazy. The food has certainly improved since our first visit many years ago.

I only had one night. The room was welcoming. I like the no TV in the room. You get to tune out. My only disappointment was that the coffee was weak and I had to pay extra to get some expresso

Absolutely wonderful boutique hotel - highly highly recommend! The place is brimming with history and heritage, with old artefacts and paintings dotted around the hotel. Breakfast is excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful, there are kayaks to use for free (recommend exploring bay at sunset), hammocks to use, and a boat shuttle that goes to the partner hotel across the water (which has an infinity pool and great views). Plenty to see, do, hike and eat within walking distance of hotel as well

Superb hotel, we were there for an escape and rest and that's what we had! Staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are so quirky and comfortable. No t. V. which suited us! The whole hotel and suites are converted 18th century working harbour buildings, including a gunpowder store, sail loft, pitch and tar store etc. Beautifully converted and with stunning scenery, you couldn't ask for a lovelier location. With pelicans diving for fish across the bay and getting a boat to take you across the water for the Boom restaurant and pool, I can't recommend it highly enough.

A favorite here on the island. Nice everything. We go to the Pillars at least once each time we come to the island.

An absolute wonderful place to stay. Dockside dining and drinks, a superb swimming pool and very attentive staff. The upper floor rooms are quite tiny, but ok for a day or two. Within walking distance of many bars if that’s your thing.

What a perfect corner ofAntigua. Stayed in Boom and the setting was idyllic... loved sitting on our veranda overlooking pool and marina. Short walk to the local restaurants. Found a couple of great ones. Loved this neck of the woods. Perfect for those who don’t want one of those all inclusive resorts.

Location location location plus the staff were very helpful. However the pool is not exclusive and gets overcrowded you can’t book a table on the same day and they run out of towels They need to put beach towels in every guest rooms plus more pillows took 2 days to get more. The food is fine but we had over cooked steak, cold tough lobster breakfast is great if you don’t have English breakfast as this very small 2 pieces of American bacon and two eggs with a teaspoon of potatoes

Very tasty food with amazing views, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The rooms are quite small with no TV, but a very nice experience for a short stay. There is free access to a swimming pool across the bay(free boat service available for crossing).

Customer service excellent . Price for the rooms was kind of high though for the quality of the furniture. And there was no tv in the two rooms we stayed with our kids

Absolute treasure of a hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, responsive to any and all needs that we encountered, and were an absolute pleasure to talk and interact with. There are many places to stay in English Harbor, but I truly felt like this was THE SPOT if you want to experience all there is to see and do in English Harbor and Nelson's Dockyard.
