Made my way here more than a couple times, prices on food and drinks were great and the staff was friendly and made sure I never got thirsty. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island as well. Don’t miss it!

One of the most nicest beaches on this coast! We ordered Curry Coch and Catch of the Day (snapper). Delicious!!! Really enjoyed our day here! Also, kudos to the artist who made the tables. Very original.

First time in Antigua and at Darkwood Beach Bar and Restaurant! We will definitely be back before we go back home. Everyone here was so friendly and the drinks were so refreshing and flavorful! The female bartender makes excellent drinks and the staff was very friendly! Can’t wait to go back and try the food! It smelled heavenly! If visiting, please remember to tip the staff and respect the island!!!

Delightful spot. 10 USD for an umbrella, 5 for a lounger, rented out by the bar. Take exact change as this is the only bar I've ever been to that doesn't carry any (if you're a tourist)... Could be the most expensive drinks you've ever bought! Beach is great. The sandbanks are a bit random and when we visited there was quite a cross current.

Great beach restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Great menu with vegan food avaliable. Can also take food and drink onto the beach. Can't wait to return.

No cruise ships today so we had the place almost to ourselves. Good service by Shandon, and lovely chef, we had a great lovely meal.

An absolutely stunning location with a good beach. The water park is great fun and good value too. We were lucky enough to have Darkwood on our doorstep during our stay in Antigua and we definitely plan to return. The food, drinks and service provided at the beach bar were all really good and reasonably priced too. A great place to stay or visit when on holiday in Antigua!

The beach was not busy, the swells most have put people off! There were a fair few sunbathers. The bar was fairly busy, we stayed to watch the sunset, great view from the beach.

If you need a reason to go, the rum punch alone is enough. If you’re still not convinced, the jerk wings should sway you. But if you’re still not sure, there’s amazing staff and convenient beachside service. Great way to have a resort feel with local vibes.

Beautiful beach with. Wonderful beach front r Bar and restaurant. Food was amazing and service was fast. Staff are friendly. Beach is clean and beautiful. If you sit under a brolly they do charge you but it's not Alot and you Will need the shade so advisory to get one. Brilliant little spot close to jolly Beach.

Nice beach location selected by our taxi tour driver, who then got his free lunch. Pleasant server. Had the goat curry, pretty good. We didn’t have the chicken but it looked good. Had fish burger, disappointed — edible, but was very average / nothing special / sorta small and to us not good value given the $13 US price. Seems to be a ban on tartar sauce in Antigua, so mayo it was. The day we visited there were MANY flies in this fully open air place, never knew flies were so beer crazy, and after first swallow of beer and not keeping hand on top of bottle, had two flies inside the mostly full beer bottle, looked like the flies died in drunken agony. So $5 US for no beer but gained a humorous memorable moment. Staff had not yet provided fly fan, they saw the flies in my full beer bottle but still charged for the not consumed beer (had no big problem with that, presumably they would be out of business if they covered customer inattention to fly dispersal, but would have appreciated a heads up to keep hand on top of bottle at all times). The waiter looking forlorn at my beer, did ask if I wanted to order another beer, worded like I would pay for that one too, passed on that to “save the flies.” Anyways protect your food and drink with zeal or hope for lower fly count.

We stopped here quickly on a Thursday afternoon during our taxi tour of Antigua. Wished we had more time to sit at the bar and swim. They had ice cream and chips for our son. Then we had two different beers and the really fun Tipsy Shots of the day that were adult themed lol. Staff was very, very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The beach was picture perfect. Super soft sand and gorgeous water. Lots of shaded area if you needed an umbrella.

My husband and I both had the darkwood burger and we both thought it was one of the best burgers we’ve ever had. Absolutely loaded , juicy, delicious. Food 10/10 We also rented chairs and a palapa around 9 am and stayed till 4 pm. A lot of cruise ship tourists came and went during that time. Cost $20 usd and they had a deal for a bucket of beers if you bought the chairs. We brought our own in a cooler. The beach is very nice for swimming!

We missed dinner here, since they closed early in the off-season, so we came back for lunch. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is fantastic. Food was great! Then we rented an umbrella to enjoy the beach.

Awesome little spot and not to expensive. Flies were absolutely brutal and forced us to eat fast and get out of there. Service was amazing and food was good

Xmas day 2021 - Lovely place great staff, proper jerk chicken, and the coconut crush and cake was very good too. Beach is lovely with yachts sailing by...Toyah was great and made it a great day, as I was away from family at Xmas, enjoyed the Reggae carols playing too...

Beach is nice, prices are average, service to the lounge chairs is nonexistent but they do add an automatic service charge. Bathroom had wastewater deep on the floor. Not a bad day but not great. Come with low expectations and have a good time ;-)

Oh man, it feels like this place has all the ingredients for an excellent bar and restaurant. Great location, super friendly staff and nice food. Unfortunately the service is painfully bad. Continually asking for the same thing gets awkward after a while! If you've got a couple of hours to spare, then you'll be fine here.
