This place was recommended by a family friend who knows the owner, Hamid. I was really looking forward to the food and called in for a small carry out order! As I came to pick up the food, I was faced with extreme rudeness by the owner (which is fine because everyone have bad days). But in addition to that, he made a huge fuss about how I wasn’t adding enough tips for my carry out and was pressured into add more. I felt really embarass for Hamid by his action, especially since a mutual friend recommended the place and because he made a fuss infront of other customers. I love supporting immigrant-owned restaurants but it’s really hard to do so for KC Kabob after what I’ve experienced 🙁. On a side note: I did enjoy the food despite the horrible experience. I ordered the chicken and beef skewer.

Ordered for pick up. Asked for them to add Zereshk to my rice which I was charged an additional $3 for it. When got home, I noticed that they’ve added dry cranberry instead of Zereshk. It’s a completely different ingredient that gives the food a different taste. When called about it, they told me it’s the same thing and tastes the SAME!!! Very disappointed with the dishonesty of this place. I grew up with Zereshk and I know the difference. I had to take the dry cranberry off my food before eat it.

Delicious. We ordered takeout and arrived a little early. TK was still working on our food and gave me the most delicious Baklava while I was waiting. It’s so hard to find a good Mediterranean place, so glad I stumbled upon this one. We will be returning soon!

I definitely recommend a trip to Amir Mediterranean! This was our first time here and it won't be our last! My friend and I both got the Gyro plate which has a build-your-own Gyro, tatziki, your choice of babganoush or hummus, and choice of soup or salad. Very reasonable prices with great portions. The owner, TK, also shared samples of the stuffed grape leaves, lentil soup, baklava, and true Turkish coffee. Everything was freshly prepared, had great flavors, and wonderful seasonings. The food is truly a sensation for your senses and palate, and TK is very friendly, takes great pride in the food, and extremely friendly.

KC Grill N Kabob closed in the wake of the pandemic, so a lot of what you see on Google right now is from their earlier incarnation — for instance, there isn't a buffet anymore (at least currently). You may encounter some hiccups when you dine in that you may find charming or frustrating, like how the sign still says it's a Lebanese restaurant called Amir. But lovers of Persian food can rejoice that Hamid is getting back on his feet and is offering lamb shanks, adas polo (rice with lentils and raisins) and of course kebabs galore, glazed with saffron. I had the ground chicken with barberry rice, which came with a grilled tomato and a bit of mast-o-khiyar (cucumber yogurt). Hopefully we'll see some ghormeh sabzi on the menu again soon.

PERSIAN DELICIOUS!!! Fantastic buffet options. 3 different types of rice. Crackers and pudding for dessert. Varying sauces and meats. They even have lamb as part of the buffet!! Great use of spices and plenty of options. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!♥️♥️ They even offer baklavas and bottled glass sodas. For dessert, you have the option to purchase individual ice cream. Overall, $10 lunch buffet, DEFINITELY RETURNING!!🎊🎊🌮🌯🍱👨‍🍳😋🥘

Ordered the gyro plate and it literally fed two of us. Clean and bright restaurant with excellent food. So many options and they all look so good. You can't beat the gyro plate though. flavorful gyro meat, pita....you really can't go wrong with it

This space is not very big, not more than 10 tables. There were a variety of Mediterranean items and American breakfast items. It is a great brunch outing. We started with a cinnamon roll, absolutely delicious. Great pairing with a Turkish coffee. I had a main salad with gyro meat. The dressing and overall salad was perfect. The gyro meat was thickly cut and nicely spiced. Hubby had the egg Benedict with turkey. It came with roasted potatoes. The eggs were perfectly poached. He enjoyed the entire plate. We suggested a gyro egg Benedict would be an amazing option, or using the shawarma burger patty would be great too. We also tried some spinach soup which was creamy and satisfying. The servers were very attentive. We will return to try other menu items. If you are near 83rd & Metcalf in overland park, swing by to give it a try. I'm hoping they will have falafels on their menu soon!!

I bought Spanish pies, and they were so tasty I have bought Spanish pies from others, but Amir's pies were so kuch better. First they are at least twice as big, second, filled with a delicious filling. Highly recommended. Oh, did I mention the great service.

This place has amazing food! The owner, Tarek, is really nice and takes great care of his customers. The food was quick and very tasty! We had lentil soup, salad, lamb kabobs and chicken shawarma. Everything was so good! One of the best restaurants I have eaten at! The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend and will be back!!

The carry out was okay. We thought the meat was good, but I got way too much rice and not enough vegetables. Not sure if we will try it again.

Worst experience ever! we went there hoping to try authentic Persian food. the place was dirty and the chairs were flipped , so we asked the waitress if they are open and she said yes and there was only one table available so we sat on it. the food was obviously frozen and heated in the microwave, the salad was old and soggy. the service was very bad and. finally the check came with handwritten prices that did not match the menu, they overcharged us on everything. we asked for the menu to see the prices again, she said that the manager changed the prices but it’s not updated on the menu. I’m really disappointed and would never recommend this place to anyone. very unprofessional and they have no right to change prices and not mention that to customers.

Amazing people amazing food and the prices are so great! I’ve ate in so many Arabian restaurants but this is the best! The owner Adam is so amazing and very heart warming person. We spent about 40$ but the god we ate was so much!! We had 2 shawarma combos they came with drinks and fries, 2 pies ( similar to pizza but used pita bread ) and Turkish coffee that was the best to end the meal. I recommend this place to anyone into Arabian for this is the closest you will get to being in the Middle East. The flavor was explosively amazing!! Will be here at least once a week that’s for certain !!

My family and I came from out of town and found this amazing gem. We were immediately greeted and shown around the buffet. Everything was absolutely wonderful, beautifully seasoned. Their house made naan is the highlight of the meal, along side their curries and kabobs. This is a great place to try some authentic Persian cuisine.

The chicken shawarma on my plate is some of the tastiest tender chicken I've had. The hummus and garlic sauce are also a must-try. My second visit and I Will be back again :-)

Food was extremely delicious! The buffet was easy to get to, and well-stocked. The service was excellent, and all of our needs were well met. Definitely a place I would go back to again and again! It’s in a new location which is much better than the old location. The place is much cleaner and more welcoming.

This is hands down the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Salad was soggy and had cheap dressing. One bite and I pushed the plate away. The chicken “shawarma” plate wasn’t what I received. I don’t know what chicken seasoning was on this, but it wasn’t Mediterranean. No rice, hummus was lumpy and wasn’t good, chicken was awful. Soup and pita were decent. Honestly, a home cooked meal tasted better than this. For the first time in my life, I left a restaurant to go eat somewhere else after.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. I had the Chorizo scramble with pancakes and coffee, and this was the best breakfast I’ve had in Kansas City. I was caught off guard on how fresh everything was the peppers and tomatoes and onions seemed like they were just picked. Probably due to them coming from the farmers market. 10/10 would eat here again. If you’re ever near the market I recommend coming here it’s a short walk.

Highly recommend! Had probably the best Mediterranean food I've ever had! Don't miss out on the lentil soup! I would highly recommend dining in. The owner will be around making you feel at home. He brought out samples of dishes he thought we might enjoy in addition to our dinner! We had a mishap on our order, but he quickly helped us out. The restaurant is open very late (midnight to 1am) as well! Please support this amazing restaurant!

I've eaten at Amir's restaurants for years. Always delicious, never disappointed. The chicken kabob plate I ate at his new Metcalf location was exceptionally tasty, tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The plate also included a delicious crisp salad, plus pita and humus. For me, the best chicken kabob I've had and I've eaten a lot of kabobs over the years.
