Had some fish and chips here from a local fish and chip shop. Green grass, shade for picnics, multiple benches, bins, water, and free BBQs. Benches and tables were really clean and so were the BBQs so obviously maintained regularly. Parking is really difficult as beach road is extremely busy and it was quite difficult to cross the road. Very very very limited parking, this area is obviously mostly used by locals who can walk there.

This is another wonderful city beach, and to be honest, if it was summer, that car park - and every other one around - would be full and the sun bathers would out number the seagulls ten to one. But on a sunny autumn day, it's a dream to spend some time on the sand. We grabbed lunch from a take away on Hampton Road and then walked over Beach Road to eat it on the wall along the walk way. There is a wide, paved walk along the beach, and a gravel path up higher along Beach Road. That one has some steps, so is not idea if you have limited mobility. There is also a basic loo at the surf lifesaving club, up the back, if you need one. Apart from that, this is an ideal beach for families with lots of sand when the tide is out and barely any waves unless the wind is up. There's space for kids to run around...and dogs as well, check the signs...and significant line of sight for parents to let them. There are also a couple of breaker walls poking out. They are made of rocks and offer some texture for anyone keen for a little adventure. Definitely recommended, and now's a lovely time of year to visit.

Lovely place to come and relax, parking is available along the street, easy access to the beach. Will come back in a few days, this time will experience going down to the sand and water. πŸ˜€

Great for younger kids as there are large sandy areas and a small playground nearby. We usually go there to collect shells and enjoy the water. It is leash free in the winter so be aware there will be quite a few dogs running free.

I like this beach because it also has cliffs and shrubs and trees near the beach for shade and grass to lay on if that’s a preference. Very picturesque and very nice beach sand

Really quiet beach, great open area for training on sand, watching the sunset, shallow water for dipping your legs in, generally calm waters. Great walking path along beach level or higher up at street level.

Beach was nice and quiet even on a hot day, parking is a bit hard unless you park in the streets or station in restricted spot. All day parking is about 15. Good restaurants to eat at and Woolworths isn't too far down the road if you want to buy snacks. Can be a bit wavy for the littles.

It's a narrow and sandy beach which is usually not crowded. It's nice to relax in the beach or go for a stroll along the coastal path with family and friends. It's also a good place for fishing and sailing. There's public transport and public toilets nearby.

Hampton Beach is a narrow sandy beach situated below cliffs. It can be reached by stairs and a long incline.

Very pleasant place to go for a stroll. Both high level and beach level promenades. Dogs and bikes as well as pedestrians. Views across Port Phillip Bay to city and Mount Macedon beyond and across to the You Yangs. Yachts in and out of Sandringham Yacht Club.

Good for a walk with dog, not very family friendly, especially with kids. Also the sand is filled with thousands of broken shells, nut comfortable for a walk on the sand either.

The beach side of Hampton Beach is beautiful, clean, and fun. The beach goes on for miles, and you can experience soft sandy beach, or rocky beach where you can step from rock to rock and get as close to the waves as possible.

Beautiful beach to visit. It's very clean and very safe there's life guards always watching and guarding the area. The rest room is available. On the other side of the beach, there's a dog friendly area. Great place to take your family.

Great beach. We sit in the middle beach (which is dog friendly) between Sandringham dog beach and Hampton main beach

Been a great escape during lockdown. Not the best sand but definitely more accessible than most beaches bay side (with multiple ramps and access for prams/wheelchairs). The large sand area means you can let your kids run wild without losing sight of them. And as a added bonus; the sunsets are something else.
