Had the best Christmas day lunch at this hidden gem! Excellent service, very attentive and hospitable. No menu as the chef cooked to order. The spinach and ricotta ravioli with fish was amazing. Highly recommended! ...with love from Scotland ❤️🇧🇧🎄

Do yourself a favor and go eat at Café A La Mer! We found this little gem, which only opened in the summer of 2022 by chance while looking for a good restaurant near the beach. You'll get outstanding food here, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. Don't even ask for a menu, bring a little time and allow the owner and chef Igal to cook for you. He will ask you what you like or don't like and will prepare fresh, delicious food at a fair price. If you are lucky, he will also allow you to try new food creations. We spent almost our entire vacation here and really appreciated Igal. There is nothing like it in all of Carlisle Bay. We will miss him and his cooking. Absolutely amazing food, some of the best I’ve ever had. I got the falafel vegetarian option, it was really nice to have such a filling veggie option! Definitely would recommend!!

Quaint cafe. The ambiance was nice. There was Spanish music playing. Was quite relaxing. The food was of a good quantity and quality. I had breakfast and I really enjoyed it. Just needs a card machine now.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in my life and what a memorable personality to have encountered in chef Igal. Me and my entire family were left speechless during and after our meal. He is truly a magician in the kitchen….. and humble soul to talk to. Good energy, good vibes, incredibly fantastic food.

We read the reviews but no words could prepare us for the feast we had this evening at this restaurant. Igal the chef and owner cooked from fresh each course after our initial conversation with him, we didn't look at a menu, he just cooked. It was the best meal in any restaurant we have ever had. He also picked a Chile white wine that complimented the meal. Honestly, if you don't do anything else in Barbados, you must try this place. You will also be pleasantly surprised by the cost too. Amazing food! The best restaurant where we ate in Barbados, not only good looking but also delicious food. Fresh fish well cooked and very tasty. Very good smoothies and desserts. The chef is great and the waitress is really nice. Definitely recommended!

Can’t recommend this place enough! The chef and owner, Igal, greeted us and asked what kind of food we liked, then prepared a lovely caprese salad and fresh sea bass with gnocchi and salmon with prawns and vegetables - all were delicious! A great experience with a personal touch. Definitely the best food in the Carlisle Bay Area! 5 stars for a very reasonable price!

My wife and I did not fancy anything on the menu so asked the chef to create something for us. We had a stir-fry rice with lots of garlic, veggies, herbs and spices. All ingredients were fresh and freshly cooked. With just the right balance of chilli heat. My wife had a nice piece of chicken on top of hers. Come here if you like fresh tasty food. Be advised though, currently the opening hours later in the evening may vary. If you can ring to confirm.

Visited the Cafe. Simple but effective. I was still damp from the beach and while speaking to the chef from the outside (not wanted to drip in the cafe), he invited in. He was very accommodating and understood we were on a budget. I appreciate he gave us time to think. He is passionate about cooking and gave us a taster. Would live to visit again.
