This
is
our
second
time
in
Barbados
but
first
at
sugar
bay.
The
first
visit
we
stayed
at
sandals.
I
would
have
been
leaving
a
two
star
review,
however
allowing
second
chances
is
more
important
to
me.
When
we
arrived
at
sugar
bay
we
couldn’t
wait
to
get
to
our
room
shower
and
find
something
to
eat.
We
were
greeted
at
reception
by
the
front
of
house
team
who
were
lovely
&
then
we
were
shown
to
our
room.when
we
arrived
at
our
room
we
were
greeted
with
the
over
whelming
smell
of
damp
and
mould.
We
sat
in
the
room
for
about
15
minutes
and
couldn’t
take
the
smell
anymore.
There
were
leaves
all
over
the
bathroom
floor
and
the
toilet
did
have
a
few
dodgy
looking
hairs.
We
went
to
reception
and
told
them
that
we
couldn’t
stay
in
the
room
and
they
advised
us
to
grab
something
to
eat
and
they’d
sort
us
a
new
room.
We
went
to
the
buffet
my
husband
is
autistic
so
he
has
sensory
issues
with
touch,
smell
and
taste
.
He
walked
in
the
buffet
and
walked
straight
back
out
again.
There
was
hardly
any
food
left
and
what
was
left
he
would
never
have
eaten.
We
asked
if
there
was
anywhere
else
open
to
eat
&
the
answer
was
no.
We
were
shown
to
our
new
room
which
was
much
nicer
and
didn’t
smell
and
hit
the
sack
for
the
night.
The
next
morning
we
went
to
give
the
breakfast
buffet
a
try.
This
was
more
successful
with
a
range
of
hot
and
cold
food
we
both
managed
to
eat
here
and
throughly
enjoyed
the
breakfast
Every
morning
.
The
sea
view
whist
eating
was
just
beautiful
And
the
staff
were
lovely
&
friendly.
After
a
more
positive
start
to
the
morning
we
went
to
the
bar
to
get
a
drink.
Helen
served
us.
We
asked
for
cocktail
recommendations
but
she
very
abruptly
told
us
she
makes
them
&
doesn’t
drink
them
&
to
just
tell
her
what
we
want.
I
have
terrible
anxiety
&
I
didn’t
want
to
go
back
to
the
bar
again
as
she
was
just
so
stern
and
abrupt.
Almost
like
we
were
a
huge
inconvenience
for
asking
her
opinion.
Iv
never
been
anywhere
l,
where
bar
staff
do
not
recommend
a
cocktail.
Unfortunately
lunch
&
dinner
time
my
husband
couldn’t
eat
again
so
I
messaged
Morgan
who
it’s
the
manager
and
asked
him
if
there
was
anywhere
local
we
could
go
for
pizza.
Morgan
advised
he
would
get
the
chef
to
make
pizza
every
night
for
us,
we
just
needed
to
let
him
know
what
time
we
wanted
it.
We
then
also
discovered
Colin’s
bar
for
lunch
.
They
serve
burgers
and
fries
so
my
husband
was
finally
in
food
heaven
.
We
chose
sugar
bay
over
sandals
as
we
wanted
to
experience
a
traditional
hotel
but
still
have
some
home
comforts
when
it
came
to
food.
Tyrese
is
the
king
of
cocktails,
he
came
over
whilst
I
was
on
the
beach
and
asked
if
I
wanted
to
try
a
cocktail.
After
my
disaster
with
Helen
I
was
excited
to
be
offered
a
huge
choice
of
drinks.
Tyrese
is
lovely
and
so
friendly,
he
always
brightened
our
day.
I
managed
to
find
something
to
eat
every
evening
at
the
buffet
and
my
husband
had
pizza.
We
dined
at
the
steak
house
twice
which
was
also
lovely.
When
we
first
arrived
we
were
devastated
and
just
wanted
to
change
hotels
but
after
24
hours
the
staff
had
made
us
change
our
minds.
Nothing
was
to
much
trouble
and
they
wanted
us
to
be
happy
with
our
stay.
The
beach
and
the
views
are
breath
taking.
I
did
avoid
Helen
at
all
Costs
.
I
am
all
for
second
chances
but
she
spiked
my
anxiety
with
how
abrupt
she
was
so
I
did
unfortunately
avoid
her
at
all
cost.
So
the
all
important
question
…
would
we
stay
again
YES,
would
we
choose
this
hotel
over
sandals
YES.
-
[
]
The
reason
that
I
didn’t
give
this
a
5
star
review
.
-
I
just
think
they
need
a
few
little
touches
such
as
the
fridge
stocked
with
some
soft
drinks
and
water,
a
snack
bar
that’s
available
24-7
or
until
at
least
midnight.
Doesn’t
have
to
have
anything
hot
but
even
if
there
was
just
some
pastries
or
light
nibbles
.
You
can’t
get
any
food
here
past
9:30
and
I
just
think
a
late
night
snack
bar
would
be
a
nice
touch.
Entertainment
was
good
on
some
nights
but
ends
at
10pm
and
there
isn’t
much
else
to
do.
So
other
than
the
issues
that
we
have
in
our
first
24
hours
ended
up
throughly
enjoying
the
hotel
.
