This was an absolutely breath-taking experience. You auberge to depths of almost 150 feet and get to see all of the beautiful coral, aquatic organisms (like fish, turtles, etc.) and even a ship wreck! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and definitely don’t miss out if you visit Barbados! The only downside is that when you transition from the boat to the submarine and from the submarine back into the boat, it fluctuates like crazy. Especially when your waiting in the submarine to descend down and when you’re waiting to get off. I felt super nauseous and dizzy and I don’t typically get sea sick. If you DO get sea sick, consider taking some Gravol or chewing on some ginger candies before going.

Great experience under the sea. Lots of portholes to view the underwater creatures and seabed. Fantastic crew, great sense of humour

Entire trip underwater is around 40minutes. If you’re driving there like we did, follow the signs for it on Google after you pass the gates it’s on the left hand side. Parking is free there. To enter you need an email with the QR code to get past the gate which the company sends you. I found the staff at the port very impatient and irritated. Even asking questions like using a bathroom wasn’t met pleasantly. Please be aware for this experience they still require you to wear masks! We were there on the 20/12/22. I didn’t see this anywhere on their website and they charge 1$ per mask. The voyage out to the submarine is only maybe 5 minutes on the boat, Inside the submarine is pretty warm, but you do get your own air vent and there are sick bags at every seat. Be aware you are crammed in shoulder to shoulder as you’d probably expect since it’s a submarine. There was only 29 people aboard our trip but I dare say it’s a bit more uncomfortable with a full party. We were again met with irritation while we tried to take a picture of the submarine when we were departing. The submarine goes down to 150ft however at that level there is no coral as the captain explains. Most of the trip is around the 60-40ft level. Plenty of fish to see, also seeing a wreck too which was purposefully sunk to attract coral. All in all this was a good experience. Our first time on a submarine. However the staff at the port and on the transfer boat made it more of an unpleasant experience as well as the use of masks. The captain and his co pilot were great and very informative about the things we were seeing. But I wouldn’t do it again and I’d have my reservations recommending this place because of the staff.

A simply stunning experience, there's just nothing else like it. I was amazed at how deep we went, but also by how serene it was. It's a real must-do if you are there.

I liked the tour, operators, and staff but I will not do it again. We really did not see anything out of the ordinary.

Unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this experience if you happen to visit Barbados. Very friendly staff and the captain was awesome. I booked my experience via Viator.com, and this afternoon adventure did not disappoint.

This is a real experience and you get a dive certificate to prove you went down the deep! The captain and co-captain and entire crew are really good. The commentary or presentation as we delved down into the sea was excellent, light-hearted and a joy to listen to. The sub itself is designed for viewing passengers. We were approx. 40 or so. There is a viewing window for each passenger. The captain has the best view 😍 so if you are lucky enough to have a seat behind him, you get a wider view of the marine life as it unfolds before you. This sub is not particularly designed for the quesy of tummy or weak bladder, so make sure you are able to last a while without answering the call of nature before you get on board. It is also family friendly. Yes, five 🌟 stars.

Awesome experience. A must try when visiting Barbados. We only experienced the day and plan on going back at night. Use the bathroom before getting on submarine.

Great overall tour. The views from the submarine are amazing, just wish they didn't pack the sub quite so full - feels like you are crammed in. The tour guides were very friendly, funny and knowledgeable.

Heading out to meet the submarine we had an extra treat of a whale sighting. So the captain sped off to it. What a treat. The submarine tour was spectacular and just as in an airplane, they go through safety checks before descent. At 132ft below sea level the corals, ocean floor, ship wreck, fishes and turtles were a sight to see. Great for adults and kids.

What an awesome experience this was. The staff is very polite and very detailed in all instruction given prior to boarding. While in the first vessel to get to the ship, it was great. When getting into the sub they really did everything to make us feel at ease. This was an amazing experience. I love the water, so this felt like something out of this world.

This was a super fun excursion! First things first, don't bother with pictures, it's way more fun to just experience it and as a photographer none of my pictures came out on my phone or on my DSLR so just get some fun videos and enjoy the view. The crew of the ship are all so knowledgeable and it made for a very educational tour. There will likely be LOTS of kids, and although there is absolutely nothing wrong with kids being kids, when you are trapped in a tube with 10+ of them all screaming in excitement it can be a little difficult to hear anything the tour guides and captain are saying. Highly fun family event! Would definitely recommend!

Really cool opportunity to take a deeper dive under the sea. As scuba divers, we love swimming around in the sea with the fish, but we enjoyed the submarine experience and the music and jokes of the staff. A lot of fun. Must do for all ages. And you get a certificate of completion!!

Great staff! We purchased tickets in advance and the wait for the next tour was less than 10 minutes. You will walk down towards a boat that will ferry you to the submarine location. The VIP pass will allow you to be seated first, upfront, and next to the driver(Great view). This is not an aquarium where the sea life is guaranteed to show up so I would definitely keep that in mind. Plenty of fish with Audi commentary from the onboard guide. I enjoyed the entire experience(90 minutes). There is no cramped or stuffy feeling and definitely worth a second visit!

Interesting submarine trip.parking available at the site. Check in 30 minutes before departure. Few minutes boat trip before you transfer to the submarine. The guides are good and keep you informed. Saw one tortoise, many fish variety but not much coral as seen on tv. Also ship wreck. Went to 140 feet deep. Overall, good trip but expected more.

This was my favourite part of my trip to Barbados. They picked my up from the hotel and drove straight to the marina. We met the submarine at sea and boarded. We went down 150 ft and saw a shipwreck, turtles, reefs, and scores of fish. The morning excursion was less crowded than the afternoon excursion. I only regret I didn't book a nighttime dive as well!

Amazing experience, would definitely go again. Next time, I'll do a night dive.

Loved it, got to see different types of fish and even a sea turtle. It is quite compact down on the sub and once you down there is no shuffling so stick with your travel companion if you want to sit together.

We were picked up from the hotel by the president of the taxi association of Barbados Mr Bailey, & taken privately to one of Bridgetown’s harbour to go under water on the Atlantis Submarine. The guys on the Atlantis Submarine were very professional, COVID-19 hygiene standards very high. We went down to a depth of 145 ft seeing all marine wildlife, & coral. The guys explained everything in great detail, what we were seeing, giving both the facts & humour.

A must do! The crew onboard of the submarine where really knowledgeable and made the trip very entertaining telling all sorts of jokes and anecdotes. Very safe adventure to those who aren't brave enough, and worth doing if you want to check the sealife in their actual habitat

This was a great adventure for me and my family. I know my kids will never forget about it. The staff was very helpful and funny (Chris you got jokes lol). I suggest walking with alcohol pads to help the nausea you may experience from the rocking of the boat. May be wise to have headache/migraine pills handy as well but I definitely recommend doing this if you're in Barbados.

Absolutely Amazing Experience! Such an adrenaline rush to actually get to 140 feet under the sea. Breath taking views. Very cool and humorous tour guide and captain. This is a must when in Barbados! We even got certificates after as proof we explored under the sea! Loved that!

The view was outstanding to the eyes. Make sure you have the right camera to take underwater pictures or you will bee disappointed that your pictures will be blue and gray. You will have to remember the beautiful scenery in memories only.

Wonderful way to see the beauty of God's under water creations. Courteous and welcoming team at this place. The icing on the cake is the certificate I received at the end of the trip.

It was a great experience. We enjoyed it. It takes about 2 and 1/2 hours for everything and your underwater for about 40 minutes

  • 4/5 Trenesha C. 1 year ago on Google
Trips too alot longer. Reservation was at 1400, and we did not board until after 1500. Aside from the screaming child onboard, we enjoyed ourselves. Barbados always takes care of us.

The submarine experience was great and the crew were friendly, the submarine itself was clean and comfortable. The crew know what they are doing once you get on the ship. My gripe is their poor communication. we waited for about 30 minutes, while waiting for the previous tour to finish , but waiting in the heat outside, there was no communication from the staff why we are waiting. There staff acted like we are inconveniencing their day

Wow wow wow. What an experience. Highly recommended. A great way to see the ocean from a different perspective. The submarine went down to around 140ft to a ship wreck and then along a wall of coral before moving along the ocean floor. The guides point out the different fish (along with some cheesy jokes/music) and also give some information about the local area and environment. A wonderful experience if you have the opportunity to go.
