This one was a surprise for me, landing in Minneapolis wanted something delicious for breakfast. Somehow this place popped up, and let me tell you, I was shocked to see how good it was. Only had time for one thing, so I asked what their specialty was and they told me the birria tacos. Amazing, very tender beef, crunchy tortilla. I can go on and on, but it was very delicious. Talking to the locals, they told me that I need to go through the menu to truly enjoy this place. Parking is a little tight, but it wasn’t hard to find on the street. The restaurant is located inside the neighborhood market, which has plenty of cool stuff. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Extremely happy I found this place, hoping to come back to St. Paul again to try the rest of the menu.

Great place but moderately overpriced for everything. The food looks good and it’s a cozy place. The marketplace has a lot of things that are unexpected. More virgin Maries than you can afford. This place is awesome because it’s huge.

This is a very true authentic Mexican cuisine in the heart of St. Paul, Minnesota. Not a shocker when you arrive here. You're in the heart of the Minnesota and the Mexican and Spanish community. Diversity is good, especially when you live in Minnesota! There is not enough diversity going on way up here, but places like El burrito mercado help with that for people like me that suffer from diverseitis! Lol. The food here was incredibly amazing!!!!! Those are words that can't even describe how truly tasteful and scrumdiddlyumptious this place is. Check it out for yourself. I dare you and tell me if this is not one of the best tasting local Minnesota Mexico places to eat. FYI go here for lunch and it is really cheap. Their chips and salsa are hands down. Probably some of the best I've ever had.

Never disappointing, now with pozole verde on Sundays - so flavorful! Ample servings and take some home. Best tamales around with jalepeno cheese and sweet varieties, fresh salsa and chips, nom, nom.

Super tasty food, and great service. We loved being able to shop while we waited for our meal to be prepared.

I love that they had alot of variety of foods. Even hot food and can dine in. Its very nice decorated too. As for prices some food items were pricey. So if u can find it else where then buy it else where. As for me I dont live in Saint Paul and where i live I dont have the choice of going else where to compare prices.I must say the meat vairety was really good. I bought sweet mexican bread and the conchas were delicious! Per each was 1.25. When i have bought them at .79cents in Texas. I hope my photos will help anyone trying to see what they have in store even though i didnt take photo of every isle. Service was great too! Very attentive and friendly! They also sell corn outside and they were DELICIOUS!

Loved this restaurant! It was so good! The best part? This place has an incredible atmosphere inside and out. We sat inside because it was so hot out but their outdoor seating area is so cool. I’ve been told they even do mariachi and I want to go back to hear that. I ordered chilaquiles, hibiscus drink and a choco flan and it was all amazing. The worst part? Not much to add. Our waitress took a bit to come to us, especially after we were done eating but it was fine because we chilled and hung out for awhile and no one was rushing us or anything. We also got good street parking right next to the restaurant which was a bonus. The salsa that came with the chips were both super good by the way.

We had been looking for a go-to Mexican restaurant in St. Paul and El Burrito Mercado exceeded expectations. The sopes al pastor were fantastic, and the beans and rice on the side were delicious additions to the meal. We also picked up a pastel de tres leches from the store which was also tasty and well made. The service was friendly and we will definitely be back again.

El Burrito Mercado es fantastico! One of the most authentic restaurantes de Mexico in St Paul. The chicken mole is worth every penny and more. The mole sauce makes me so happy I would lick my plate if no one was watching. The staff is so nice and are always smiling and laughing. My chicken was a tad dry but I was also there at the end of the night. Either way, I don't care because the mole is so deep and layered in flavor. I love it here.

such a wonderful place. inside there is a market, a pastry counter, a deli and small food court, and also a restaurant. bathrooms are locked and you'll have to ask the cash register for the code. inorder and outdoor seating. hands down the best horchata I've tasted in the cities. its not watery at all, the cinnamon taste is smooth and there is a pleasant kinda thickness/texture to it from the rice. we got sopas, enchiladas, and tres leches.

They change the chilaquiles recipe from last time was there. Salsa was cold but they where crunchy. Red salsa needs a little bit of work.

Great one stop shop for most groceries and especially any Latin/mexican foods. Been going here with my family since I was a child and it’s been amazing to see it grow and offer more and more for catering and grocery! My family owned a Latin restaurant and we relied on them for much of our specialty items. The gift shop is growing and I love checking out what’s new.

I ordered some tacos here, cheap tortillas, cheap meat, couldn’t enjoy my food. The drinks were okay but the food was garbage 🤮

I do my best to often make the trip out to Burrito Mercado and every time I do it feels like I’m transported back home. They have all the Mexican staples I grew up with and their selection of brands is great and familiar. Check out their hot foods section - great for dine-in or take out.

Amazing restaurant, deli, patio and mercado. Love all i can get here. Ordered catering for 2 grad parties and my guests were racing about the food! I also love the happy hour as hey a $5 margarita is a win! $5 nachos at happy hour. Grab some mole from the deli too! Family owned #Westside!

El Burrito Mercado is an excellent choice for your next catering event. I placed an order for a hundred individuals last week. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, in comparison to all other Mexican restaurants in the area including (B.C.). El Burrito Mercado gives by far the greatest service and accommodations. I'd want to express my gratitude and tip my hat to them for all their help. I'd want to point out that they their website was down when I tried to place my purchase, but I called and a lovely lady helped me out by answering all of my questions and accepting my order over the phone. El Burrito Mercado I will give you a ring again for our next event. Thanks!

Happened to be there during the lunch rush. It was busy, but the line went by pretty quick. Wanted the Sopes platter, but the were out so got the Mole platter instead and 1 chicken taco.

We went here on Cinco De Mayo so it was VERY BUSY. But I would like to come back on a day what they are not busy to try other foods they had. They also had a bar area that we didn't get to try. But they also have a marketplace area with baked goods, deli and other things you would need from a grocery store! Check it out sometimes!

This placed has changed very much since their renovation and since covid, and sadly not in the most positive ways. The menu prices have increased by about 1.5 to 2x as much. You go to Mercado Central in Minneapolis and the prices are almost half the price. It's very rare and kinda a red flag if you ever see prices more than 20$ at a Family owned Mexican restaurant. The interaction with the kitchen staff has been completely removed and the cashier at the kiosk wasn't very helpful or nice. The people cleaning the tables didn't even wait until a member of my party had gotten up before spraying down the table, like at least wait until we've all left the table before you start cleaning it. The food quality hasn't changed and it still very good, the tortillas are definitely made in restaurant and are high quality corn tortillas, but the price of the food makes it very hard to justify. Side note, they ran out of a lot of menu items and meats about an hour before close which was kinda disappointing Makes me very sad to see this happen to such a beloved place in many people's and my own heart.

We held our 100th school anniversary in October and El Burrito on Wheels is ALWAYS a favorite. The line got back up a bit at times, but none of our guests seemed to mind waiting for the absolutely AMAZING food. One of the most affordable and consistent in quality and service food trucks I've ever worked with. HIGHLY recommend to anyone for events large and small.

I love this grocery store and always feel very festive when I go inside. I do an annual trip for Christmas ornaments because I love all the colors. I have never had a bad experience at this beautiful grocery store.

I can not say enough about out experience here last night! We had a party of 12 there especially for Mariachi night. The Mariachi was amazing and they made us feel so welcome and encouraged us to get up and dance with them! Our server, Jo Jo i think? Was amazing! Perfectly explained all the foods and drinks! Him and another employee went out of their way to help us get great group photos! Once outside for more photo ops we were then helped by one of the owners, Suzi I think to get more good shots! This was a great night for us and we will be back!

The cafe used to be one of the greatest dining experiences in Saint Paul. You could engage with the people making the food. The cafeteria style layout made it possible to visually browse the amazing food they made, which was the best way to explore what you wanted and discover new possibilities. It was vibrant, human, and one of the hearts of the city. And then they killed it. The buried the cooks behind a dead wall. And now instead of engaging with people, you engage with iPads to order the food. You can’t see the food anymore. It went from being lively, warm, and amazing to dead, cold, and depressing. They really should recognize the tragedy of the error and go back to how it was. Really, they should.
