The food was really good. The atmosphere was a bit fast-paced and noisy....but getting items cafeteria style was fun. They have lots of choices and are willing to adapt to anyone's food preferences. The Latte Caesar salad was amazing. Their pizzas seem small but are very flavorful and filling. The ham sandwich was simple, yet it hit the spot. This is a great place to go either by yourself or with friends. We got multiple items, and everyone shared. It's definitely worth a trip there. Parking can be a bit tricky though....the street parking was free but limited near the cafe....otherwise you might have to walk a bit. The German chocolate cake was absolutely delicious... and the perfect way to end my meal. I also appreciate the helpful and amazing staff that works there!

Always a pleasure buying cakes from this place. My number one place to go to for any tres leches cakes! For limited time, definitely try the mango flavor! It is definitely better than the vanilla! I would love to have some mango on there tho. Other than that, I’ve always placed an order via phone for the cakes. There’s no option to do that online.

Always a good experience. Kept it Light today with a cup of Creamy Tomato Bacon Soup and St Paul Sourdough bread. Both hit the spot. Upstairs seating is always fun!

The food was so amazing and the cafeteria style ordering was fun and simple! All of the workers were wonderful and knowledgeable when I asked a question. It was a little loud and cramped but still a great place to eat.

Been going to Cafe Latte for nearly 30 years and it’s still amazing! The salad and breads are near perfection. But tonight we ventured out for some dessert. I had the Turtle cake and my mate had the classic strawberry cheesecake! I’ve made cheesecake and have had cheesecake at many other places and none has beat Cafe Latte’s. The turtle cake is so delicious and the chocolate caramel sauce is mind boggling. The soups and salads I’ve had has always been fresh and delicious. I love the bread and pate and cheese spreads. Soooo yummy. Lastly the coffee, including decaf coffee, are strong and high quality. Bravo to a St Paul icon restaurant cafe. I love this place and my children love it too!

One of the best places to have lunch with great selections of salad, sandwich, soup and spread sampler. Definitely the best place for cake. I love everything there, everything is so fresh and tasty.

Other than cake server not knowing which kinds of nuts one cake contained and not offering to find an answer, this met all my expectations. The neighborhood is so beautiful & full of fabulous walking opportunities (old homes) + other awesome businesses. Fabulous variety of options but my favorite are the cream cheese spread platters w/ bread & vegg (so unique! YUM!), and the CAKES. Good cake options are a rarity everywhere else I've lived (not Twin Cities, but still reveling in all the options). Choosing one was so hard as they all look PHENOMENAL. The raspberry cream was absolutely beautiful in every way but I look forward to trying all the chocolate ones! It's got a classy late 90s / early 2000s modern vibe that we love (upstairs seating is so cool!). That + the name reminded me of You've Got Mail & Cafe Lala or w/e it was in the movie. 🥰

Not fancy, just very casual cafeteria style place. They had a lot of options- soup, salads, sandwiches. The desserts and coffee bar. wouldn’t run back, but wasn’t a bad option to meet someone to hangout in a casual setting.

This place is so good! How did it take me 4 years to get here? Love the atmosphere, love how the food is made to order and the cakes are cut to order. Super great bar area where we split and enjoyed the turtle chocolate cake ($7.50) and a glass of red ($12). Not surprisingly, it was real busy on a Friday at 6:30pm with lines out the door to find a seat as well as the cake ordering line. The bar was wide open! I’m glad the business appears to be thriving and it opened another seating area. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if there was a more affordable bottle of red as if I remember correctly the least expensive bottle is $45. And/or have a date night offer on a consistent basis for say a pizza, bottle of wine and dessert at a slightly discounted price as that would be something to look forward to and plan around.

I called in for a pick up order and the guy I spoke with on the phone went in to depth about each soup, his favorites, and was very intentional and patient during our conversation. I had mentioned that I was sick and someone would be picking up the order for me. He left a little note at the bottom of the bag that said “Feel better soon” with a chocolate. Cafe Latte has the best customer service. His small act of kindness truly brightened my day. Thank you😊

First of all finding parking here in crazy. People do not know how to drive and it doesn’t help when the closest parking lot is only one way. The place is very clean. The dessert is top notch. A elegant place to hang out for coffee or tea.

It had been about 10 years since my last visit, but everything was just as good as I remember! The cheesecake gets 5 stars, always. I would say that it is the best in the Twin Cities. I had the smoked salmon chowder and it was delicious, as well! I would probably pick a different salad next time.

The cafeteria line method of ordering was kind of amusing. It brought back old memories and actually gave me time to look through all of my options while the people in front of me were ordering. Some people who were only getting a salad or soup skipped ahead which was no bother. They should not be made to wait for the rest of us if they're only getting one specific thing. The coffee was decent. The food was pretty good. There were lots of options, obviously. It was pretty busy but also easy to find seating as the tables turned quickly and there were a lot of tables on both floors. They seem to be primarily known for their cakes, which I did not try as I'm not a fan of sweets, though neighboring tables were raving about them.

Their tres leches is hands down the best in the Twin Cities. TBH, I was pleasantly suprised that their pizza tasted really great. My family enjoyed it a lot. The place is really busy but the servers are very accommodating and friendly.

The drinks are beautiful and tasty and the service was good! I have a dairy allergy and they have several different milk options so I didn't feel limited. Will definitely be back!

I love their tres leches cakes! They are not too sweet like other cakes I have tasted before. I like the vanilla and the coconut. But my favorite was the thres leches tiramisu cake.

We made a reservation for their Tres Leches cake and it was very impressive! The sponge was moist together with light delightful cream that all go well together. And the cake is very pleasing to look at too! Would love to try their other cakes in the future

1st timer, and it didn't disappoint! Highly recommend the pizza. It's probably some of the best I have ever had. It's light and airy. Legit enjoyed eating the crust when the pizza toppings were gone, which I never do. Perfectly sized pizza, too. The desert was also very good. The pieces are huge. 2 slices filled my family of 5 (3 kids under 11). The service was extremely fast and good. Taking kids out to eat usually isn't ideal, but when you order 4 pizzas in get them less than 15 mn, you can't beat that! Very chill and inviting Atmosphere! Thanks for the great dining experience.

Cafe Latte has earned a high spot on my list of favorite destinations on Grand Avenue. The atmosphere exudes style, the servers smile, and the delicious coffee is reasonably priced. Oh, and each slice if Chocolate Chocolate Cake is irresistible, beautiful, and decadent. It’s a good thing that I live seventy miles away. Otherwise, that Chocolate Chocolate Cake would take up a large share of my daily caloric intake! But it’s a wonderful little part of life.

This place is pleasant (but busy) and is both a bakery (the cakes and pastries look very good!) and a cafeteria-style restaurant. You stand in and go down the line, ordering what you want, from salads and soups, to sandwiches and coffee. Be sure to check out all your options first, as you may want something at the end of the line that you didn’t know existed. The food and service was good, but I will say that the menu is not very clear/visible. There are small plaques with the food options posted throughout, but I wish there was a bigger, more central menu one could look at (other than the coffee menu). I would love to come back to try some of the desserts!

This is a great dessert place for me and my wife. Tres leches cake is her favorite. I don't really like it so I like to try other flavors. For example, during this visit I had the strawberry chocolate cheesecake - mmm!! Delicious. Coupled with some tea, it makes for a perfect mid afternoon snack

Amazing place it was bigger than I thought with lot of chairs and table. I went there with my friends who are actually like a sister to me. And I first ordered the balsamic salad: it was very delicious. I also got a soup Dijon something ( i don't really remember the name as I didn't like it at all couldn't eat 😔) and for desert I got this slice of mango tres leches cake. Loved it! And will definitely order it for my birthday.

I love everything about this place. They have simple food like pasta, sandwiches, soups and cakes. You take a tray and you go to the area you're interested in. On the other side, they make pizza. The cakes are baked in the store and are fresh and delish.

The desserts are the absolute best here! I never leave without at least two different slices of delicious cake. Also, the soups are always changing and I have never been disappointed with any of them. The salads are pretty great too. I definitely recommend their chicken Caesar pasta salad.

I like this place enough that once I ate here twice in one day. I would probably go here for lunch multiple times a week if it wasn't just a little pricey for a regular weekday lunch. Salads are decent but the real winner in my book is the soup. With their homemade bread roll, yum. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, their cheesecakes (in many flavors) are delicious. If the chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake or raspberry white chocolate cheesecake happen to be in the case, get it! The slice is big enough to share.

Highly recommend. Clean, bustling, cafeteria-style service. Very reasonably priced considering their high quality, soups, salads, breads and desserts. Sitting up top was great Saint Paul people watching, overlooking the intersection of Grand & Victoria, which is a wonderful location for shopping. Outstanding was their raspberry, white chocolate scone with jam & crème fraîshe for spreads or dipping. One tiny quibble: If they could have Tabasco at the ready, for their creamy soups, I'd be even more pleased! Maybe leave a bottle we could reach for in line at the soup section. Thank you for being very well-staffed and cheerful.

My boyfriend is all about this cake. Despite being quite laid-back, when he's in the mood for dessert, he hops in his car and heads straight to Cafe Latte.

Nice place, great staff, the cakes are very well made, parking is a less, has enough seating space, Tres Leches recommended!!
