This is a nice, quiet place to spend an afternoon or to take the children. The cages/pens are a bit small. The animals do not seem that happy in my opinion. On that note, they have it posted that plans are underway to remedy that. There will be more room for the animals. I'm sure that will make them happy. It was feeding time when I arrived. That did not interfere with the viewing. Instead it enhanced my visit. Masks were required if you wanted to enter the building with the bathrooms and snakes etc. It was very clean and well maintained. The Elk were very active. I am looking forward to revisiting once the improvements are completed. If a person is wheelchair bound, they may have some difficulty getting around as there isn't a continuous path that leads to all of the exhibits. One must walk through the grass for some of the bigger animals (Elk, Bison etc.).

Beautiful location! A variety of wildlife animals from bears to sea otters, farm animals and even eagles (plus a bald eagle). Kids enjoyed their time here. Small zoo but definitely worth the drive out! Hope you enjoy your time here as much as we did :)

I love the zoo and I always have. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I still come back at least once a year to see the animals, my favorites being the otters, the bear, and the goats. It's barely changed at all in 15+ years. I'll have to come back soon because this place truly holds a special place in my heart!!!! It's also free and wheelchair accessible!

Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo was absolutely amazing. It’s a gem out in the middle of almost nowhere. They have naturalist programs, campgrounds, picnic shelters, 8 miles of hiking trails, fishing, water access, snowshoeing, and groomed ski trails. It is fantastic to find. this is a great place to bring the family. Let the kids run with the supervision, of course. The zoo is even fun with a boardwalk around all of the exhibits and beautiful flowers and gardens.

Oxbow is such a unique spot to get out and and enjoy the outdoors. It is hard to beat the experience and scenery at no cost. My wife and I went for our first time in the winter and tried out the cross country ski trail. Ski rentals included everything we needed and you cannot beat the $5 price. The trail was beautiful and visiting the zoo after was just the cherry on top. Can not say enough good things and can't wait to go back when the new nature center opens in the coming year.

Really amazing to think a place like this can be free entrance and runs on donations. The animals and areas are clean and well kept. The animal area open at 10am not 5am like indicated in their Google page so keep that in mind. The areas opened at 5am are the kids play area and hiking. There’s camping grounds near worth checking it out. Truly enjoyed about 2.5hrs here. And plan on coming back again.

The unsung local Zoo, this Zoo was way more better than few Zoo’s which I’ve visited. Right next to Zoo there is a good walking trail with soulful bird chirps. I’m limiting the pictures I post so you can check enjoy the surprises yourself!

My step Mom & I brought my 2 yr old nephew & 7yr old niece here to check out the animals & play. They had a wonderful time feeding the animals, walking around, there was plenty of shade outside, and educational m, fun things things inside as well. The play area was tons of fun for younger kiddos, & there was activities for children a bit older as well. Both kids enjoyed looking at the inside animal’s as well.

Very nice park and zoo. You can see the animals up close and all were brought to Zollman Zoo injured in some way so they're helping out animals birds and reptiles in need.

Beautiful park and beautiful animals. Just wish some of the animals had more shade in their enclosures. It was very hot today and some of the animals had very little to no shaded areas.

This is a cool little place! The new building is nice. The park has a solar system theme to it mixed in with other things. My kids love the sand pit and the water feature. The zoo is cool because the animals are from Minnesota. We even got to see some Minnesotans in their natural habitat the last time we visited (some workers painting a habitat).

Amazing experience! Highly recommend for kids and adults to learn of our local wildlife. Please donate as this is donation-run with volunteers! Everyone is so nice!

I've been going to the Oxbow Park and Zoo for over 25 years. The place has come a long way from its humble beginnings, continuously making improvements. Neat hikes and various parks make it a great little outing to connect with nature. Seeing the animals has always been a fun family visit and tradition too!

The new nature center is wonderful. Can't wait to see all the new updates. A charming zoo with rehabbed animals. :)

A nice county park with a new nature center, a small zoo filled with local animals that wouldn't survive in the wild and an unique play learning park. Perfect for young children. Hiking and picnic shelters are also available.

This organization is AMAZING. The animals are well cared for and they work hard to provide for them all the best possible environment they can. Reading each animal's story was super interesting and hits you in the feels. The bison were super cool to see as well since we got to get up close and peer through the fence area at these magnificent creatures. Their new facility/building is really nice too and definitely built with education in mind. Definitely bring the kiddos and if you're feeling adventurous camp there too!

This was our 1st time going here. We were very impressed! The price is great, especially for all the things available to do. There are 2 playgrounds, a zoo, walking trails, a river for fishing(& playing in.*life jackets & close supervision! It is a river! ). Everything was well maintained & pretty clean. My parents were staying the weekend, so we just visited for the day. We are definitely going to consider staying sometime.

Small campground surrounded by woods. Very pretty. Easy access for larger rigs. Sites are nicely spaced with plenty of room at each. Would absolutely camp here again.

Nice little zoo of raptors that were injured in the wild. Some common farm animals. There are native flower gardens. There is an interesting playground for children with an architectural sand digging pit for artifacts.

Amazing place, educational, clean environment. The prairie dogs were my favorite. Definitely check this place out. It's free!
