A truly amazing museum. The sheer scale of the horrors suffered by the islanders is brought to life in this fascinating place. A real must visit whilst in Guernsey! I must almost mention how friendly the staff were, they are a real credit to the museum.

This is what happens when a collection gets out of hand-history is saved for future generations, and people want to see it. There's some amazing stuff here, with back stories and local history about how tough it was living under German occupation. It's reasonable to get in at £6 and a great way to spend a couple of hours.

This is an absolutely amazing collection of German military equipment including guns, bombs personal artifacts and loads more. There's lots of information to go along with the treasure trove of memorabilia. Out of all the world wars, WW2 is definitely my favourite, and for anyone who enjoys WW2 ... this museum if a must! It's nice to enjoy a tea and a biscuit in the cafe half way through the museum.

Amazing museum full of artefacts and relics giving an insight into the lives both the occupied residents and occupying forces during WWII. Apparently the collection of one man built up over 60 years and he's still there selling tickets and happy to chat. Appears to be a small cottage from the outside, don't be fooled there is plenty to see here. Nice little cafe offering tea cakes etc as well.

An amazing museum about the occupation of Guernsey during the second World War. Entrance 6 pounds. Unfortunately due to our schedule we only spent half an hour here. I was told that the nice chap that runs it has many more artefacts and rotates what's on display. Worth a second visit.

What an interesting insight as to how life was on Guernsey during the occupation. It makes you realise just how close the Germans got to invading the UK mainland. Lots of artifacts and photographs from around the island giving a good idea of what went on during those years. It's clear that a lot of work has gone into the this historic collection - a great preservation of the past. A very interesting morning for me and my family followed by a nice cup of tea and a slice of gâche in the onsite cafe. Definitely worth a visit. Oh! and one more thing, just bear in mind that it is a CASH ONLY place so don't get your knickers in a twist if you forget to go to the cash point before visiting - there are no card payment facilities.

Such a cute little museum! It is tucked away in Guernsey but yet has so much to offer! I would soooo recommend you to visit it if you are in the area! And they also have a tearoom which is ok for a small bite. Our favourite bit was the life-sized rebuilt street from during the occupation!

Bit busy because of shorter opening hours, but some great and interesting exhibits, interesting to see how the locals managed during this point of history of the Island.

Interesting collection of pieces from the period of German Occupation of the Channel Islands. Includes German militaria, as well as a lot of exhibits showing what life was like for the inhabitants of the islands. About 1 - 1.5hrs would be a reasonable amount of time to get round it all. Entrance was decent value - £6 adults and £3 children - but NB that it is cash only, no credit cards.

Not to be missed, gives a really good insight on how life was under German occupation. Richard Heaume has done a fantastic job building up such a collection and recreating scenes from the war years. It makes you realise how precious freedom of speech and movement is. A thought provoking visit.

Looks nice from the outside but times were incorrect online (google) so it was closed when we visited. This is not the museum's fault as likely google was showing times PC (pre-covid)

Probably the finest collection of artefacts from Guernseys occupation by the Germans in WWII. All personally collected by the wonderful Richard Heaume. Uniforms, weapons, posters, paintings, recreated street, field kitchen, letters, photographs newspapers, radios and much more. Over 12,000 German troops were stationed on Guernsey. The personal recollections of islanders under the cruelty of the invaders with imprisonment, deportation, murder and treatment of slave labourers is also exhibited. There is a lovely tea room, garden and a brilliant shop. Incredibly interesting and fantastic value.

An excellent few hours spent here. Several rooms absolutely packed with information, memorabilia, video reels, personal stories. Excellent! There is so much to learn here and the entry fee is only £7.00. Bring cash. Lovely little tea rooms and delightful garden too.

I loved this museum in Guernsey. Their collection is stunning. You get to know more about the German occupation days and life in Guernsey. Great for history lovers and anyone interested in learning more about WW2. There's also a café for refreshments at the museum and it's only a 10 minute walk from the airport. I recommend going right after you arrive or right before you leave (that's what I did) since it's so close. Cash only (no cards accepted), you can buy the ticket right then and there.

This was the most moving and interesting exhibition about German occupation that we visited whilst on holiday in Guernsey. Partly because it included so many personal stories of Guernsey residents during the occupation and partly because it came across as such a genuine collection built up from interest by the owner starting when he was a boy and continuing throughout his life into the fascinating museum it is today. Personal favourites were the captains story of the ship taking the Guernsey refugee children to England for the duration of the war (just as you enter the museum) and later the sad story of the 4 year old boy photographed with his cat.

Probably the best small museum I have ever seen. Spend 2 hours here and you still won’t see it all.

A very complete and dedicated view over what happend. A massive collection worth the time. I was amazed by the Enigma and the complete bunker artillery. Extreme awesome. Spend almost 2h for only 6 pound pp. What an extensive hobby the owner has. And I have seen a few collections before. Chapeau !!! Greetings from Holland

A MUST SEE, wonderful small museum telling the fascinating but grim story of the German occupation of Guernsey and liberation by the Allies in WWII. The thousands of artifacts and documents are displayed very well to give you an insight into the dreadful hardships suffered by so many, the deportation of people to German concentration camps, the persecution of the Jews and other minorities, the slave Labour used to construct defences and finally the utter relief of liberation. Do watch the films in the first room and in 'The Street' area.

20.08.2022.Pay cash on arrival and don't do what I did and show up at 1 pm and have to come back the next day.Credit or debit cards aren't accepted here...I spent two hours reading about the occupation and I tried to do it from an islanders point of view.I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and have hopefully learnt a lot of things that will stay with me forever. Not much else to add that hasn't been written before.Hope you like the photos.

We myself and the family all thoroughly enjoyed looking around your fantastic museum. It is a credit to you Richard and something to be immensely proud of. I could have stayed there all day watching your videos and reading all the literature just soaking up the history and imagining what you, your family and the whole island population must have gone through. You really have done a fantastic job with the exhibits.
