Must visit. A nice place to get a panoramic view of the the coastline of st Petersburg. Don’t miss the panorama view. You can also walk along the fort from the outside. Once done with the tour you can then take a boat ride for 1 hour along the canals of st Petersburg which starts from the fort

A good visit to close up to this iconic landmark. It's a big fort which you can enter free, with admission fees for the several separate museums. We bought the Combination ticket and still many places required an extra fee, even the toilets!! The cobbled streets made walking difficult. The main attraction is the Cathedral which us impressive like most others. Unique are the tombs of nobility,, notably Peter the Great and the family and 4 servants of last Tsar Nicholas II.

I am not a big fan of history and arts but this place is exceptional, I spent more than an hour in this cathedral alone, not to mention the other sites. You will need 4 hours at least to see (not to experience) most of the sites in the fortress. Cathedral is a must

It is on a small island. about 15-20 mins drive form St. P main city centre. depends on traffic, maybe longer. Takes about good couple of hours to have a look at this place. Various kinds of museums are in this place.

For Russia reviews visit my travel blog: thewanderingmain.in/ What a grand fortress. 2.5 km from Nevsky ave, it is located on an island across Neva River. I walked up to fortress from my hotel at Nevsky avenue and enjoyed the sightseeing all the way to my destiny. You can snack on some ice cream and have beverages. There is a convergence of people every day. You can take tickets to the cathedral which costs about 500 rubles but it is worth spending. Glittering chandeliers and colourful art of the cathedral makes the whole experience exclusive. Usually, it is closed on Thursdays. This place is highly recommended to visit. I give it a thumbs up.

A wonderful and interesting place. Beautiful architecture, brilliant landscape design. There is just one problem with this perfect place - it’s boring :-)

Peter and Paul fortress is set on a tiny Hare island on the Neva river. It is the birthplace of the Imperial capital, as the city founder Peter the Great built a star shaped fortress here in 1703 from where the city started to grow. The primary purpose of the fortress was protection against the Suedes, but actually never served for that. Instead, it was a political prison. Today, it's main attraction is the same name Cathedral where the Royal Romanov family is buried including Peter the Great himself, as well the famous Catherine the Great. Apart from that, there are several museums across the island which you can visit according to your liking.

The wall composes of a special kind of imagination and technique to create an art piece. I'm impressed of their skills. 360 degree of view is breathtaking. There are a number of food booth. There is public toilet but it's unclean.

The heart of Saint Petersburg. All visitors must see this place. Great architecture. There are several museums and exhibitions. One might need more than a day to visit all of them.

Beautiful architecture built on an island. Remains of the Czars are burried here as well. The crowd is very well managed here. Tickets can be bought at the counters outside the main premises. Note that when you enter the cathedral remove glasses and hats/caps (not allowed). Ticket prices for Russians, Students and common tourists are different. You can click pictures inside and outside. Taxi can be also called easily using Yandex application here.

Lovely place! The only annoying thing are the thousands of sellers of paragliding experience. Too many of those and quite persistent. The views are amazing, but expect some crowd during the day.

Not liked by the Georgians when it was built but no doubt one day will be cherished as a part of history. It’s rather a stunning and beautiful structure anyway

I took a helicopter ride, ~50eur 15min. Totally worth it. I definitely recommend the ride. The waiting time is no longer than 15min and it offers a really cool air point of view of the fortress.

Pietarissa keskeisellä paikalla Nevan rannalla sijaitseva linnoitus. Ravintoloita. Näköalatasanne josta upeat näkymät Nevan yhdelle leveimmistä kohdista, tämän linnoituksen luota mm lukuisille kanaville kiertoajelut veneillä, lämpimällä ilmalla hienoja opastettuja 1-1.5 h retkiä.

I would like to recommend visiting the Peter and Paul Fortress in St Petersburg. This historical site holds significant importance as it marks the very beginning of the city. At the fortress, you can explore the rich history of St Petersburg and immerse yourself in the old-fashioned charm it has to offer.

The fortress looks imoressive from outside. There is also s helipad just outside the fortress. The entrance is not indicated by any board. One has to ask around. It is quite a distance from the main road along the embankment. The main cathedral is adorned with beautiful carvings and murals. But, they charge separately for each museum which is not justified.

One of the best places to have a glance of night view of St. Petersburg. The shore near to the Fortress looks directly to the main attractions such as Hermitage, St. Isaac, Yusupov Palace and many more. Must visit.

One of the must places to visit when in Petersburg! The main attraction of the fortress, is the church of Saint Peter and Paul, in the center of it. There are also quite a few exhibitions, and small museums inside it. Try walking around the small island, and the small beach it has, during a sunny day!

One of my favorite places in Saint-Petersburg. First of all it's the all time historical place. The birth place of the city. So deeply connected with the history of Russia in general. The cathedral is a burial place of all the emperors from Romanovs dynasty. Wonderful view over the city line across the Neva river. You can take a helicopter ride over the city, starting at the wall of the fortress.

Go for the Canon shooting at noon, they fire once and are impressive. The cathedral was beautiful, the space and rocket museum was cool. This place is really just a collection of mini museums. They charge you at each entrance. The ticket that includes multiple locations only includes 5 of the places and you will want to go to other places that will not be included. Their sign also showed a different price for students but then told us it was only for Russians and tried to charge us an adult price. Many museums allow kids to enter for free but not this place. Felt like they were just trying to take the tourists for as much as they could. You can walk around the main grounds for free. If you are needing to fill some time, go and decide what to pay for. If you are pressed for time, skip this, there are better things to see in Saint Petersburg.

(Translated by Google) First of all, this spot is great for the scenery, the waterfall seen far away is awesome. Surrounded by high mountains, small villages can be seen below. The building is a unique wide-angle painting. Although analyzing the pictures is quite tiring, it is very interesting. Outside, the villagers sell local produce. A must see place. Take another 15 minutes for this place on your way to Kazbek.
