The German Knodle is a splendid little place tucked into downtown St. Pete. It’s probably a restaurant I’ve passed a handful of times without ever really noticing it, but it is certainly worthy and pulls its own punch. It made me so happy how authentic it is- our waiter, who I assume is part owner? was so sweet and genuinely excited to share the menu with us. When we ordered he kept saying how we made such good choices and how much we’d love the food. He wasn’t wrong. I got the currywurst. The curry sauce was absolutely phenomenal- I wish I could’ve taken home just a pint of that to use on all kinds of food. Though I wouldn’t say German is my culture food of choice, but this place serves it about as good as it comes. Support local small businesses!

This place was so good! It's pretty rare I ever hear about vegan German food, I grew up eating it all the time but haven't had any luck finding any since going vegan, so I jumped at the opportunity to check this place out. My gf and I tried the vegan curry wurst and vegan mushroom sausage and they were divine! The curry sauce was so flavorful and those were the best vegan sausages I've ever had. The sauerkraut was amazing, and the fries were good too. They had a great dunkel on tap as well. Really loved the decor, it was such a cute place. Can't wait to go back!

This little family owned German spot was an interesting find, to say the least. This is coming from someone that has never had an authentic German dish, until now. I absolutely loved their Jager Schnitzel with Veal, and paired it perfectly with a Pils light. Service is kind, caring, and very attentive. It’s certainly worth a try in my book.

Wow...really great place. My friend and I have been craving German food and this place did not disappoint. I am in love with it. The schnitzel with curry sauce was AMAZING! So flavorful. The fries crunchy and I loved dipping them in the curry sauce too!! The saurkraut is homemade and not overly strong in taste. It was perfect! We shared a hazelnut tart for dessert and it was the perfect touch after lunch. The prices are a little high but you can taste the authentic foods so perfectly!

Quite honestly one of the best meals we had in St Petersburg. It was so flavorful! I had the vegan sausage with mushroom gravy and he had the knock wurst. The potato salad is so awesome. The sauerkraut was the best I've ever had. I don't know how they seasoned it but it was out of this world. This tiny spot is so unsuspecting. Don't walk past this gem it's absolutely wonderful.

While we were getting vegan ice cream next door we noticed a sign that mentioned vegan sausages. We were immediately sold. So we stop by, ordered our food, and found a table outside. It was 75 degrees out, not a cloud in the sky, a nice breeze would come down Central Ave here and there, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. The food came out in a timely manner. We took our first bite of the vegan sausage and it was amazing! Especially with the curry sauce poured over. We even asked more more curry sauce. The fries were cooked perfectly to a crispy outside and soft inside. The Hefeweizen was cold and delicious as well. 10/10 would stop by again.

Great little German restaurant in St. Pete. Delicious food and beer choices for a quick bite or a good dinner. Portions are a great size, good prices and the fries are amazing as well. If in the area, totally check this place out, will not disappoint!

Delicious German food! The Kraut wasn't soggy like most sauerkraut you find places, it was very flavorful too. The German potato salad was very nicely flavored as well. Very unique flavor and all very pleasant to the senses to taste. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and crispy, topped with I think a broth gray which was seasoned pleasantly. Pleasant, is the word I would use to describe all the food here 😋

Selfishly, I love that German cuisine isn't top of mind for most people, so when we treat ourselves to this fabulous restaurant, we can usually find a table. Located in the St Petersburg Edge District, sitting outside in this cute environment is always fun. The menu meets my (plant-based diet) needs and my husband's needs. I particularly love the curry sauce with the vegan sausages, the amazing sauerkraut like nothing I've ever tasted, and the German potato salad. Yum! And did I mention the dark German beer? You gotta check it out!

Genuine, authentic German food- it was absolutely delicious. Having been to Germany prior, it’s hard to find the same, great German food back in the states. But this it. Absolutely delicious! Home made, family-owned, and ate every bite! Delicious German beer and Gluhwein, you can’t get any better than this. Highly recommend!

Menu is bare bones... Sausage and strudel although they do have a vegan sausage option. Good place to enjoy a German beer and some food.

Food was absolutely delicious. The beer was amazing too. Great service. Definitely will be going back and highly recommend going. We had several dishes, from the brats to the schnitzels. The potato salad was superb. Even had glu wein for desert on a warm evening. Go figure.

Awesome basic German fare. Service was excellent and fantastic German beer selection! The location is in the very cool Central ave area which is always interesting scene. A little concerned about all the high rise construction in the area.

The food was excellent. Small menu focused on German food (various sausages, schnitzels and salads). We had the Jager pork Schnitzel and it was amazingly tasted! Huge portion. Also a Greek salad - nice presentation and delicious. Service was great too! Stop by and give them a try, you will not regret it!

An actual German restaurant that serves German food with German people. Who does amazing prices reasonable atmosphere was great. Everything diamond in the rough definitely worth a try if you're on Central and a little hungry. Unfortunately coronavirus made them reduce their menu options but hopefully they'll get back in running to full soon enough. I'm telling you try this place that it's definitely worth it!!!!!

Love coming here after climbing. The hostess is always very nice every time we come here. The food is always good and never disappoints. My go to is always the Curry-wurst. They always have a good selection of beer.

This place is great! The owner is so sweet and friendly. The meat is delicious, which you'd expect, but the potato salad! The sauercraut! The fries! Everything is so good. I'm so glad to have found this gem while on vacation. I will definitely be returning next time I visit the in-laws in Tampa.

The staff was amazing, and the food was good. We had both the pork and veal, which everyone enjoyed and was well cooked. There were not as many traditional sides available which kept tgis from a 5 star but a nice spot for German fare.

Small menu and decent german food. The people who run the place are very friendly. The sausages we ordered were excellent. The fries and the mustard sauce go well. The german beers taste refreshing. The only complain i have is the price. Its a little bit high. I guess they have no choice since the place is located on central.

After being stuck in the house for 6+ months due to COVID we finally decided to eat out again. I’m German and my girlfriend surprised me with this gem. As I’m German I’m pretty picky and never really had good experiences in the U.S. with German food unless I made it myself 😁 We had the Vienna Schnitzel and the Vegan Curry Wurst. Both dishes were delicious and service was outstanding. We are very happy that we were able to support a small local business with our visit during these unprecedented times. We’ll definitely be back and try other menu items. Хвала вам Muntaz 😊

This little hole in the wall has by far the best bratwurst and French fries I’ve had in the US. It’s the closest I can find to authentic German food. The French fries are absolutely phenomenal - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, strong garlic flavor. For the flavor, you can’t beat the price. The service is personal, prompt, and friendly. The owner is a retired pilot and full of wonderful stories. The decor is nothing to take note about, but the food will quickly blow you away. It’s worth stopping in- you won’t regret it.

What a great addition to st pete. Hot wine in the winter is great, or other quick drinks are always accessible too. The food is fast and so tasty. And the whole place feels so home-y. Coming back again and again.

Food is delicious! We went on a Friday night and there was just one girl covering the whole restaurant. It took longer for everything. Ownership should have given her some help.

👍 Great ambiance and service! Drinks are delicious! Food is cooked to order, so expect to stay a while and food to take longer than what you may be used to. Flavors were a strong 7/10, just because I’ve more authentic flavors in other places. Overall a nice place to check out in St. Pete!
