One of the fine pure veg restaurant in Chennai. They have buffet as well as ala carte. The ambience is nice but too over crowded. They should keep some distance between their sitting arrangement keeping in mind the current COVID situation. Although the staff, were wearing masks and sanitizing the tables. Coming to food, for the buffet, the food was not hot they should keep some kind of source to maintain the temperature of the food. The taste was nice but not too good. Good for family outing.

This was a Buffet only spot, it's pure vegetarian, they have a live Dosa and chat counter who make interesting things. The place is open for Lunch, evening tiffen and dinner. We went for lunch, it was least crowded from 12noon to 1.30 pm but after that it got really crowded. Better to reserve a table and go. The place has valet parking. But earlier you come you will get good service and won't have to wait to drop or pick up your car. The waiters at the restaurant are very friendly. They will serve all the dishes to the table for senior citizens. It's wheelchair accessible. Large well lit hall. Will good ambience. Large variety of food, for starter, main course and desserts. Enjoyed eating here. Definitely worth a visit

This restaurant is in a prime area and easily accessible. One good option for pure vegetarians. The ambience is good. Has a good parking area. Not so crowded during a weekday afternoon. Varieties are bit less. Salt is on the higher side for most of the dishes. Curd rice is not creamy instead it is watery. Another disappointment is about the live counter. In Chat live counter, only paani poori is available. Better they can name it paani poori counter instead of Chat counter. Welcome drink was below average. Soup was average. Liked the pumpkin sause pasta , Noodles and sambar rice. The varieties need to be increased for the cost. There was a TV which was telecasting only Tirumala Pooja for a long time (1.5 hrs) rather than religion neutral programs. Later may be due to some feedback from customers, cricket match was telecasted.

Fine dining. Good taste and quality. I love the deep fried corn, onion, baby potato. The buffet is for those who "love" the South Indian, especially Mangalorian dishes (sweet). The atmosphere is high class and so is the price. Parking is limited. Ideal for executive lunch and small get-together. There is a hall in the floor below, if you are planning functions with 100+ people.

Perfect place for buffet South Indian lunch for vegetarian . They had good spread of South Indian , North Indian spread , pasta and Chinese spread in same buffet. North Indian spread can be skipped but each and every item other then that was delicious . Pasta was too good and cream of mushroom soup was perfectly creamy . Had decent options of desert in which all the Indian dessert were too good. Great place for team or group lunch . Prices are also quite reasonable .

It's a fine dining, multi-cuisine restaurant. The ambience is too good. I had ordered crispy veg enchilada, paneer lawabdaar, butter roti and butter naan. Taste, presentation, quantity of food: very good Price: slightly on the higher side but it's all worth. Best in terms of price when compared to other fine dining restaurants. Polite staff. They also offer buffet at reasonable price. Excellent experience.

It was a pleasure dining at Mathysa Restaurant, Adyar Branch. I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a delightful ambiance that set the stage for a memorable culinary journey. First and foremost, the food at Mathysa is simply outstanding. The menu offers a wide range of delectable dishes, blending traditional flavors with modern culinary techniques. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and presented with finesse. The flavors were balanced, and the ingredients used were fresh and of the highest quality. I particularly enjoyed their signature dishes, such as the flavorful Thattu Idly, Sapthaswara Oothamppam and Raja Raja Cholan Dosai. The chef's expertise was evident in every bite, leaving me craving for more. It doesn't stop only with south Indian items. Their expertise extended to north Indian starters such as Paneer Tikka and Corn Tiki. I ended up with a super strong coffee which was good too. I can't rank them as top to bottom as each dish was good in its own way. The service is top-notch. The staff members are attentive, friendly, and well-versed in the menu. They patiently provided excellent recommendations, ensuring that my dining experience was tailored to my preferences. The service was prompt, and my needs were always anticipated without being intrusive. The restaurant's ambiance is stylish and inviting, with tasteful decor that creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The seating arrangements provide both privacy and a sense of openness, allowing for an intimate meal or a gathering with friends and family. The lighting and music complement the dining experience perfectly, creating a pleasant and soothing ambiance. Furthermore, they pay meticulous attention to hygiene and cleanliness. The restaurant maintains impeccable standards of cleanliness and adheres to all necessary safety protocols, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for diners. Overall, Mathysa Restaurant, Adyar Branch is a gem for every VEGETARIAN food lover that deserves every bit of praise. The combination of exquisite food, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this is a culinary destination that promises to delight your taste buds and leave you with cherished memories. I highly recommend this restaurant to all food enthusiasts looking for a gastronomic adventure in Chennai.

The place is located near the main junction of Adyar and same complex as Mcdonald. The place was crowded and most of the people were there for buffet. We chose Ala Carte and went with both Indian and Continental. Taste was good and food was served quickly even with the crowded place. Portion justify the prices. The ambiance is good and is good place for lunch or dinner with family and friends

Near Adyar bus stand and Adyar flyover. Ambience is good. The restaurant was very crowded on the weekend. We were the first ones to enter in the evening at 7 p.m. Both buffet and à la carte options are available. One of the starters (pull apart garlic bread)we ordered was complete let down but the rest of the food we ordered was excellent. Most people queued for the buffet option.

South Indian Food is tasty and authentic. We tried the onion uthappam And ghee roast, it was good. The dosa better was slightly underfermented but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Coffee was good, not above average. They serve coffee with sugar cubes which is cute ❤️ I can’t talk about the other cuisines coz we didn’t try it. However, be prepared for bad service. Service sucks with a capital S.

While the restaurant commands a strong brand name contrary to it they are very poorly equiped with resources for dine in. Often you spend more time waiting for recharge of menu. Most menu items are on waitlist.. Good for weekdays when there is less visitors

Buffet with full of people around you. For lunch they have full meals thali and buffet. If its not peak hour they will give you a la carte option so that you can choose your own dish. Coming to the dishes they are below average xomparing the money whoch we spend on them.

i had been for the new year Buffet , did not find it good, the quality was not up to the mark though the list of item's were too many , it was mostly just some sweets or savories' , the main course could have been better for the price it was charged , Disappointment compared to what it was before

Had booked through Dineout in the last minute...On entering 1 hour early due to hunger, the staff said they have table available and that we could go ahead and have lunch. The ambience was good and lovely. It was pleasant to the eyes. We had a buffet for 599 including tax which had good spread of salads, starters, south Indian and north indian items, desserts, ice cream...The Madras thali looked good and service was smooth...Venkat attended our table and was polite, courteous and professional. Was a memorable lunch for the family and would like to visit once again to ala carte items for a good family dinner.

I went for a buffet dinner the food was average the main problems I experienced is the poor seating arrangement with very heavy chairs senior citizens felt very difficult to move it and the Air-conditioning is very bad it was so hot and stuffy so bad I felt relieved when I came out to fresh air. And to mention abt the floor service staff they just stand with their hand behind their back I was very upset I chose this place for my moms 75yh birthday . To conclude this is not the old Mathsya I know …hope the management take some steps to make the place a comfortable one with good hospitality…

Vegetarian buffet paradise!!! This could be one of the best vegetarian buffet places in chennai. Wide varieties of dishes, from starters till desserts. Most of the dishes were great. The price is decent, the service is good and there is valet parking. Since this is at a prime location one should be visiting early to avoid the crowd. Overall enjoyed the indulgence.

Want to have a perfect date on Roof top garden restaurant with rain drizzling, Time to go for Mathsya Adayar. Use lift or the stylish stairs to reach rooftops. Don’t settle indoors. But indoor is a great place for buffet.

This is one of the premium veg restaurant in Chennai. Mathsya restaurant is a bit better in taste and ambience compared to other restaurants like Sangeetha. They have a good variety in their buffet and if you prefer vegetarian buffet, this is one of the best you can dine. They follow covid protocols and they also offer party halls. The quality to price ratio is really good for buffets... Good place to dine with friends and family and an ideal place to give treat 🙂

"Mathsya" is a household name For fine dining for years now.The Egmore Branch is the flag bearer of this Brand And true to its Fine dining experience, the Ambience of the Hotel was excellent. I visited this place for a dinner buffet with my friends Yesterday. As expected the ambience and Service was excellent. However..... The food was surprisingly disappointing and Totally Bad in taste. The Highlights in this 500 Rupee Buffet were the Cauliflower Fry(starter) Corn Vada(Starter) , Mac N Cheese Potato Wedges and Curd Rice. The Rice Items were excellent compared to the Tandoori items..The side dishes were mightily disappointing and to add to it the Ice cream was horrible. The standout Dish is the Live Counter Dosa. they have 3 varieties or Dosa. plain dosa, masala dosa and podi dosa. All were exceptional in taste . Totally disappointed with the main course. The Side dishes were done so bad that Taste of Panneer was horrible. the desserts were Okayish and overall I would Not recommend this Place for Buffet Nevertheless,Mathsya is a great place for family dinners and Would recommend Ala Carte over Buffet.but heavily disappointed with the Buffet taste and Spread.

I had heard a lot about this place. Yesterday I went there with my family. First of all we ordered Cream of Tomato soup. Instead of cream of tomato soup, they gave tomato catch up. And put cream in the garnish. If the restaurant people are reading this review, then let me tell you that Cream of Tomato Soup has cream added in it. There was neither garlic flavor nor any other flavor in the soup. I drank the worst soup in my life last night. Then Hot and Sour Soup. which was completely pale. It had neither the taste of garlic nor the taste of ginger. Then we ordered Idiapam and that was equally useless. Giving 2 stars only for dosa. But dosa is good everywhere. It was a very messy experience.

The breakfast combo on a working day is really good. On week ends the breakfast buffet is very popular. We need to book the table during the weekends. It is fairly free on weekdays especially during the day time. The taste and quality of the food is extra ordinary! The quantity is also sumptuous!! The basement parking has the lift which leads to the restaurant on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor has a party hall!! The roof garden restaurant is on the 4th floor. The staff are courteous and quick to serve. The ambience is really good with a view of Adyar. The ☕ coffee was really strong and good. The pasteries and dessert 🎂 are mind-blowing!!

Located in Adayar opposite to GRT jewellers....The hotel is in third floor and they have ample car parking space. They also have valet parking facility too...They have both buffet and ala carte available. Lunch buffet is 599 per person. Booking through dineout app will reduce the price accordingly. The spread of buffet is very good. one soup, 3-4 starters, one welcome drink, 2-3 main dish, Biryani, curd rice one variety rice, sambar , white rice, poriyal, kichadi, noodles , nan, rotti, 4-5 sweets like cakes, pastries, custard, cup cake, ice cream. They also have live chat items and dosa items. totally worth for 600 rs Buffet. Highly recommended. The palce tends t get crowded during holidays and weekends..so if one want peaceful lunch then be there by 12pm itself. The team is having high chair but only two or three available eo if u ask them they will give you. The team available there is totally supportive...

A Great buffet that doesn't burn hole in wallet at the same time providing delicious meal satisfying all kind of crowd. Must visit 😋

  • 2/5 Shekar 3. 2 years ago on Google
Sunday buffet, so much crowd. People milling around, jumping ahead of you and grabbing food. You expect to have a peaceful ambience with good quality food. Not a place for some privacy of space. May be weekdays are better, I hope. Food options and taste aren't that good for the price of Rs. 576. And then did run out of refills and you have to wait. Fine dining, I'm not sure it yet fits that definition, though I hope they will improve. Please take note, create lesser seating capacity, anticipate crowd and regulate. The worst thing to do when there's demand, is to get greedy.

A splurge of a buffet of pure vegetarian breakfast. Each and every dish was fantastic, the service was excellent, the ambience calm.

  • 4/5 Rajat S. 6 months ago on Google
The starters were really very good especially the mushroom cappuccino, cheese balls and pizza. I was disappointed with the main course The 'kaju matar makhana' was very sweet and seemed like a dessert (payasam to be exact), navaratan pulao was again disappointing but the bisi bele bath, multigrain dosa and pineapple raita were amazing. Coming to dessert brownie was very bad, but the mathsya special faluda and apple pie with icecream were worth a try. Now coming to the ambience, too much noise (shouldn't be considered as fine dine), one of the lights was flickering which was very disturbing. And there is NO VALET parking, i don't know why everywhere it shows that it has.

  • 5/5 JAYANTHI R. 7 months ago on Google
Excellent pure vegan restaurant in Adyar. The ambience and service was remarkable. Food quality and taste was great. Pricing little on the higher side but worth it. They have both Ala carte and buffet menu's 😋. Crowd was decent so suitable for family dining. Valet parking is available so no worries. Choice of menu on the cards, right from south Indian, tandoori, Chinese, continental and lots of deserts.

  • 5/5 Vignesh B. 8 months ago on Google
The best vegetarian buffet spread you can find in Chennai. Always a pleasure to dine here. Accomodates a good number of people at a time. Maybe crowded during weekends as expected elsewhere. Valet and basement parking available.

It's on the first floor.. Lift facility is available. Valet parking is also available. Food was really good neither hot nor blant..just right for older and younger children.. It's pure vegetarian restaurant.. The staffs are cordial.. Buffet for Rs. 500/-per person was just too good. There were lots of varieties.. Rice.. Biriyani.. Noodles. Rotis with varied side dishes and regular south Indian menu.. 4 varieties of deserts and a drink.. Loved it

Had breakfast. Choice in the items from idly to dosa varieties, juice and cornflakes option with tea, coffee a normal option required for breakfast. Good ambience and good for a dining with groups.

Went there for an early morning breakfast catch up with some friends. Really enjoyed the place. We were able to sit an chat for over 2 hours peacefully. Thankfully there was no music. Food was buffet so we did not have to worry about ordering and choosing from the menu. The items were simple but tasty. And since it was a buffet, quantity was not an issue. The only thing that we found odd was that the waiters would keep coming to take our plates away even when we have every intention of continuing with the meal.

Just went for a buffet lunch over a weekend with family. Starters were all delicious. Main course is limited with normal south indian meals. Deserts were good. Visited again and enjoyed the buffet again. What quiet disturbing was, a group of ladies, might be friends, who joined there for lunch wad making horrible noise without the concern of fellow people who have come to enjoy a peaceful lunch. We strongly condemn this attitude as this is not a party hall for meeting. Thats a dining area. I preferably bring this to the notice of the manager of the restaurant.

The food was average and the staff were pressuring us to finish the dinner soon. Since it was new year eve. Thought we would have a buffet. We came around 10.30 but they said we couldn't have it since it was late. And we ordered some food on the menu and it was okish.

The Buffet foods taste so good today. (Update, the foods not so great today, 081222) Should come earlier as lots of people coming after 12:30 noon. Today Aircon not working due to maintainance and so hot, make me not comfortable to stay longer. I have to eat quickly and leave as soon as possible. (Update, AC working properly and the crowded always there)😀 The staff very friendly and helpful. (Same as today visit)🙏
