Immediately after arriving at Richmond Vale, you are treated to an awesome view of the volcano. It's right on their patio, and you'll know immediately that you made the right choice in staying here. I stayed at the Diving & Hiking Centre for 3.5 days. I thought it was a great place because of the relaxed atmosphere and how they promote sustainability. Everyone I met there was super nice and I had a great time scuba diving on one of the days (shore dive) and then hiking up the volcano nearby, which is an amazing experience that you'll want to do if you are in St. Vincent. It's a little difficult to get out there, but worth it because you feel like you have the place all to yourself. There's a waterfall very close by that you can visit and it's actually quite impressive. For those who have more time then you can go to the hotsprings or up to another big waterfall on a separate trail. The beach is super close by too and it's a nice black sand beach with no one on it. David, who has worked there for six years, showed me around the gardens and was always there to help. He help coordinate everything and was very prompt in emailing back/ made sure I was comfortable. I hope to be back soon.

Great experience. Not the place for your all inclusive 5-star vacation but that's surely not what you should be looking for coming here. Room was nice and clean and the location makes it a fantastic base for hiking and diving away from the the mass tourism spots. If you love to be out in the nature or the ocean exploring the underwater world this is a fantastic base for you. I will be most certainly staying here again if my travels lead me back to St. Vincent one day.

I spend almost two weeks here and I was impressed by all things here - the nature, see view, people, rooms and the whole area of RVA included organic garden. I went here because the seminar with horses but and I got more than horse´ wisdom. I really like the eco friendly approach which you can see everywhere in the Academy - own food, saving water and simple but cute rooms. I can´t describe the calm and peaceful atmosphere by words, so look at photos. I recommend it for people who look for less civilized part of the world, withou internet or touristic /artificial attraction but are interested in real (but safe) wild nature and authentic people.

I stayed this Christmas at Richmond Vale Diving & Hiking Center. It´s a good quiet place to rest, with fantastic nature scenery that meets you everywhere you look. I also went on spectacular dives. You have the coral reef / wall 40 meter deep, just by the beach, and on top of that I went to others very unit diving sites by boat. The accommodation is modest, but with all the necessity you need, and it´s nice clean. The staff is very nice. I ate at the commenroom with the rest of the people at the place, and got good local produces food. It´s a place that I will return to and can only recommends to everyone. Thanks to Richmond for a very nice Christmas holyday.

A huge thank you to Jesper and the team for such a great start to our holiday! We trekked up Mount Soufriere with Per who had originally helped to build the centre, it was an amazing experience and magical place to visit! Highly recommend for anyone avoiding resorts and looking to experience more of nature :)

Staying at Richmond Vale is a unique experience. Guests can simultaneously experience both privacy and international community - the rooms are self-contained yet mealtimes are social events. It’s nice to be involved with an organisation that practices what it preaches in terms of environmentally-friendly systems. Most food is produced on their land and they capture as much rainwater as possible. Ecological information and ideas are displayed throughout the premises which is interesting to read. Feel free to wander around the permaculture gardens, vegetable nurseries and fruit orchards. There are horses, pigs and chickens on site too. Value for money is a prominent feature of Richmond Vale. Accommodation, food, hiking tours and diving are extremely reasonable. despite the budget prices, visitors can expect excellent comfort and cleanliness. The journey from Kingstown along the Leeward Highway is fantastic. On arrival at Richmond Vale La Soufrière (Soufray) volcano dominates the landscape. Further down the coast there are magnificent bays and beaches. Jesper, David and Franklin are superb hosts.

The centre is very good value for money. It's peaceful, with comfortable rooms and there are great views of the nearby volcano. It's also just a short walk to the beach. The centre itself is quite remote but this isn't too much of a problem as getting around via bus or taxi is relatively easy and inexpensive (especially via bus). The students at the school were all so welcoming and friendly and we had a great time meeting them all. David (who looks after the guests) was really helpful and checked in regularly to see how our stay was and if we needed anything. If we'd stayed longer we would have loved to have given diving a go (which seemed really reasonably priced). Many thanks for a lovely stay!

My short stay at Richmond Vale was nothing short of amazing. The rooms were very clean and well kept, the food was delicious (and organic😊) and the hospitality was great. David was extremely helpful and always willing to assist whenever and with whatever he could. Everyone did their best to make the stay enjoyable and memorable. If you are looking for a place that is quiet with an amazing scenery this is the place for you. Away from the hustle and bustle ; perfect for a relaxing time and very near to the leeward trail of la soufriere volcano, dark view falls and other hiking trails. Because of the weather I was unable to do the volcano hike that I initially went for but David did not hesitate to invite me along for another hike. Very thoughtful and worth it! While you are there be sure to learn alot more on what the Academy offers, they are doing an amazing job in educating persons on the importance of maintaining the environment. Be mindful that they are no shops nearby and its a distance from the airport. Apart from that the hospitality, affordibility and scenery goes unmatched. 👍
