Good service and good beer. Cash only made me consider a 4, but I am content with a 5. I love English cask ales and they have the closest to the real deal I have found so far. I see many repeat visits in my future for The Angle and the Sword on tap. Edit: A year later... this is by far the best microbrew in town. Unassuming and stay true to themselves. Quality of beer is simply not disputable. If you want something different than the rest, this is your place. 2022 update: New patio space is awesome. Great ambiance and old world feel. The old patio had charm in it's simplicity, but the updates have taken it to a new and better level.

This is my favorite brewery in STL as far as the beer goes. This was my first brewery visit, and I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the location is. The new outdoor area is amazing! The indoor bar has some very cool old school vibes. The staff is pleasant and friendly. The beer of course is phenomenal. I highly suggest trying the Vienna Lager, the Czech Pilsner, and the Black Lager (when they have it).

If you’re looking for good local beer, food, and a solid patio look no further! Civil Life didn’t disappoint, also for my EV owners they have charging stations on their property!

Lovely community brewery. The soup we had was good. The bread that accompanied it was fantastic. Recommend. Enjoyed a board game after our soup dinner. They do have charging stations for electric cars on their parking lot.

First time here even though I have been to St.Louis many times. They keep the beers oldschool and simple which is GREAT. They just reopened with a new expansion outside which is great and met some really fun people there. Pet friendly and the staff were solid with decent beer knowledge. You have to try it you have never been, you wont regret it for sure:)

Had a great time at Civil Life! Took off one star because there weren’t many beers in my wheelhouse, but my husband was very happy with the beer selection. They have a small indoor taproom and two outdoor patio areas (one of which is huge). Love their bar top chalkboard system for keeping track of your tab! They offer half pours which is nice. You can bring your own food. The woman who helped us was super friendly. We will definitely be back!

I've been going to Civil Life since they've opened. Great beers for every taste. They're brewing IPAs, for a long time they didn't. Very cozy and romantic when the weather gets cold.

This place deserves all the stars and more. Their beers are great and crush hospitality. At that point they have already won me over but they also have a fantastic food menu (the brat was juicy and delicious, the potato salad was damn near perfect.) Oh, and one more thing I loved, they offer half-pints. Will be back soon :D

LOVE the new patio! The food menu consists of snacks & sandwiches with sides. Along with the German wheat, I went for the Nashville hot chicken with a side of mac n cheese. My nephew loved the smash burger with side salad. 👍🏼

Great spot for beer, wine, and food. We got the pretzels with Sriracha cream cheese and they were some of the best we have had. There is a bit of seating in the bar area and some in an upstairs area. They have two dart boards and a game where you try to get a ring around a bull skull horn. Would love to come back in the summer and sit outside sometime!

What a great experience! Love the renovation. Great outdoor space. Same beers you know and love. Plus some new ones. Nice refresh on the inside too. Can’t wait to go back again!

Probably one of the best breweries in the region. Fantastic indoor and outdoor spaces, beer that isn't just all lactose-implanted imperial milkshake double sour IPAs (though they do currently have an enjoyable IPA on draft, succinctly-titled "IPA"). Definitely a British-style pub vibe with some of their beer selections, but enough variety to please plenty of tastes. And, we just tried their food for the first time. Wow, an absolutely fantastic smash burger for a fair price!

We've been going there since they opened, and they keep getting better! Family-like hang out, the outdoor space is very comfortable and roomy. The beer is great, of course, and they have a very thoughtful and quality wine list. It's worth it to get a bite to eat there, too!!

The outdoor space is great. Tons of seating and shade. The employees are super friendly and helpful. I accidentally spilled my beer outside and when I asked for a rag they poured me a new beer for free and came outside to clean it up themselves. And the soup is souper good. Love Soup Sundays!! And the pretzels are good, too.

I love this place and missed it when it was closed for remodeling. Every time I am in town, I try to make a visit here. Such a great vibe and the beers are ridiculously good. Mostly low gravity beers. If you are just a crazy hop head you probably won't like it. So good...

Civil Life is our favorite spot in STL. They have amazing beer, a fantastic wine selection, and yummy food! The ambiance is great too, with some incredible wood work and the option to play some darts. It’s always super clean, and the staff is so friendly. Definitely check out Civil Life if you’re looking for a fun and chill place to hang out!

Their brown ale is one of the most famous local beers in the city! It's a great brewery to enjoy whether you're looking to just chat with friends, play some games, or sit at the bar. They have a good selection for non-beer drinkers as well.

Great beers, good food, and the friendliest people working there. The gardens are just beautiful. My favorite place to have a beer and relax!
