Breathtaking architecture as always. I have visited the cathedral before the fire and currently after it. It is really sad to get to see how the fire impacted it you cannot go inside anymore and all you can see is the outside of it now. Still beautiful and worth looking into it from the outside Currently under construction. All of our hearts broke with the tragic huge fire, but we have hope that the cathedral will be back. The plan is to restore in the 19th Century design, and at this time is is under construction. Lots of work around. Heartening to come and witness the rebirth.

This is by far, one of the most beautiful and dazzling cathedrals I have ever visited, maybe also because of all the story behind it. The architecture is amazing and just being there is an out of this world experience. Everything gels near this spot and there are so many options for the visitors nearby to go as well. I had the opportunity to visit short before the fire in 2019 and I could see it inside and from the top too. I hope they finish restoring it sometime soon as nothing beats going inside it and seeing Paris from its top tower. So, I hope to come back soon. I recommend this visit 100% 🙌🏼

A lot people of visit this place although everyone knows it’s currently being rebuilt again after the fire incident(couple of years ago). There are some really nice places around and nice restaurants around from kebabs, Indian and Middle Eastern and Turkish etc. Perfect place for lunch, snack and dinner. just across the bridge there’s famous Shakespeare and company cafe. Really busy place to be honest. I would love to spend few hours around this place. If you are using big bus then there’s a stop just across the street.

What and incredible landmark and architectural masterpiece. Got consumed by the incredible art pieces and structural magnificence. I was stunned by the sheer spectacular grandeur and genius that went into building this incredible cathedral. So much history and I’m sure millions of tourists have visited this wonderful landmark in the city. Certainly not to be missed by any travelers passing through and looking to enjoy the magnificent construction. A sad day when the building caught fire 🔥 and destroyed so much of this incredible masterpiece. So glad to have captured these images in time and history never to be seen again as destroyed in the fire.

In my travels, this is by far the most impressive. I've been to the top and throughout this cathedral and was in awe. I have been back after the fire and always take the boat ride down the river to see the renovation progress. I will be back in May to see the progress. I love this building. It's May and I'm back to visit the cathedral it's still incredible and the construction is moving along. I can't believe the skill and technology that's required to put this building back together. I admire the technical skills required by all involved.

I visited Notre Dame today. I was aware the project will not be completed until the end of 2024 but was amazed at the large viewing platform that so many went to sit to be close to a much cherished building. Even in its current state it still attracts large crowds to get a glimpse of this magnificent building

Beautiful Parisian site to see while visiting the city. It’s currently closed for tours but the outside is open for site-seeing. It’s just beautiful. The whole place is big—a lot of art and detail to try and process. Coupled with the history of the location, it’s a lot to wrap your mind around. The area is beautiful as well. The cathedral is close to metro stations, and is built for foot traffic.ale sure to add this to your list of must-sees during your time in Paris.

Please Note the date of this review. As of today, this is still closed with the ugly wall around, the rear completely scaffolded and the viewing stage still there. I'm sure they'll do a great job in restoring this icon but for now, only recommend visiting if you have the extra time. For me, the gargoyles are everything And still a beautiful structure. Note: don't expect there to be convenient bathrooms. As you can see on the images, bathrooms are marked, but they are locked and inaccessible. Look for the free gray box rooms around the city for great free bathrooms. Enjoy!

I do not think I will ever return to Paris. It would be great to see Notre-Dame in her full glory. Construction work was going on and we only saw from the outside barrier. There were a lot of tourists taking pictures. Notre-Dame is still breathing from a distance. I believe the construction will be finished by this year. We took the bus and it took us like 400 meters to the main entrance to Notre-Dame. We were warned of pickpocketing in this area, so be careful. There were also scammers trying to get your signature and then they demanded money. Enjoy this iconic place.

It's a really beautiful place. Doesn't matter if it's winter, autumn, summer or if it's sunny or rainy. It will always be an iconic place. The place is not open to the public yet, but you can sit outside and take pictures in front of the building. Sometimes others come here and do some kind of performance here and there are places to sit and watch the performances with the Notre Dame on the back. You will find painters in the near, also in front of or there is another beautiful church, the Abbey Bookshop and the Oldest Tree in Paris. So, a lot to see in this area. Enjoy yourself here.

It is a cathedral with a breathtaking architecture. However, after the fire that broke out in April 2019, restoration work of the cathedral is still underway. Hence the visitors are not allowed to enter the cathedral yet (as of April 2022). You can get a magnificent view of the cathedral from outside, if you go on a River Seine cruise at dusk.

Having finally found the words to capture the awe-inspiring experience, my long-overdue review of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris is a testament to the lasting impression this architectural masterpiece left on me during my visit in the fall of 2018. Stepping into the cathedral, one is immediately struck by the grandeur of its Gothic architecture. The intricate details of the façade tell tales of centuries gone by, and the imposing towers reach towards the heavens. However, what truly sets Notre-Dame apart is its breathtaking stained glass windows. The play of light through these vibrant works of art creates a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors that dance across the stone walls, immersing visitors in a spiritual and artistic experience. Victor Hugo's literary masterpiece, "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame," comes to life within these hallowed walls. As I wandered through the cathedral, I couldn't help but feel a connection to the characters and the rich history that unfolded within these sacred confines. The ambiance is infused with a sense of timelessness, a feeling that transcends the boundaries between past and present. Climbing to the tower was undoubtedly a highlight of my visit. The panoramic views of Paris and the Seine River are simply breathtaking. Gazing upon the city from this vantage point, one gains a new appreciation for the intricacies of Parisian architecture and the city's timeless charm. The climb itself, though challenging, adds to the sense of accomplishment and heightens the overall experience. Despite the tragic events that befell Notre-Dame in 2019, the resilience of this iconic structure endures. The ongoing restoration efforts are a testament to the collective will to preserve and protect our shared cultural heritage. As a visitor in 2018, I am grateful to have witnessed the splendor of Notre-Dame before the fire and am hopeful for its eventual restoration to its former glory. Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris is more than a tourist attraction; it's a living testament to the beauty of human creativity and devotion. Its profound impact lingers long after the visit, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have experienced its magic. If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, I encourage you to do so once it is open and become part of the continuing story of this architectural marvel.

So we just got here on Christmas Eve and this was one of the must sees for us. Well unfortunately it was closed for work. So we were not able to go inside but it was still one of the most amazing cathedrals we’ve seen. It looks from the look of the construction it is going to be even better. You can still good views of it so it is still a must stop to take a look

My wife and I visited this famous church for the first time way back in 1997. Then we were here as a family in 2007 and lastly in September of this year my wife and I watched the progress of the repairs together with the others. The reconstruction is progressing very well. Well done.

First visited this wonderful Cathedral in 2007, then in 2012... It is heartbreaking that by 2019, we weren't able to go inside while in Paris because it burned. Missed to again see the awesome stained glass windows, the antique fixtures, the intricate architecture of the church inside, missed to buy some religious medals and missed to light some candles and say prayers as we used to do. Looking at the destruction from afar is painful.

Though temporarily closed due to the fire, the exterior of the building is still very much intact and visible. There is a large amount of information on the construction barriers about the ongoing restoration work. So while you cannot get inside, the story of the building and its more recent history are readily available and worth viewing.

This famous cathedral is simply impressive, even if it is half covered by scaffolding and is closed to the public. We enjoyed walking around the outside and reading all the informative signs. Amazing to think how old it is and that construction took 400 years! It is great to see it being restored and will be very interesting to tour once it is completed.

(Translated by Google) Notre-Dame, i.e. Maria, in the center of the city, pictures before the fire. the queue was bearable, looked bad, but only lasted 5 minutes. the service was like in Germany - the Lord's Prayer in French ▶ ️ a note in hand helps 👍 only a few come to the service - while the endless crowd of tourists passes by outside. actually strange, because the purpose of the building is the worship service, to praise God the cathedral was built in the center of Paris and must have made an overwhelming impression at that time (like all cathedrals in the big cities of Europe).

The cathedral is temporarily closed to visitors. Unfortunately, it can only be viewed from the outside. There are a lot of cranes and scaffolding around the cathedral. This place is still delightful. Tezymam thumbs up for repairing the damage as soon as possible. When that happens, I will surely visit this place again.

We visited before it burnt down. So sad, hoping they can fully restore it. It is beautiful inside, filled with lots of history. This was a must do in Paris. They also had a bunch of local vendors similar to a street fair in the front to grab a quick bite before visiting.

Notre Dame Cathedral Paris. There is no doubt that this place is beautiful and worth visiting. Tickets are not required unless you want to climb up the tower. We enjoyed the cathedral and the surrounding area. Beautiful architecture, history and art. The birds provided a lot of entertainment for us, including my two-year-old daughter. We were lucky. Fortunately, the cathedral was closed the following day due to a gun shooting.

As of end Feb. 2024 Notre Dame is still closed. They are expecting the major construction work to be finished by end 2024 but a re-opening date is not yet available. There are cranes, scaffolding, a wall and metal barricades around the cathedral. It doesn’t look great though you can learn a bit about the renovation efforts via the posters around the work site. Sure it’s a breathtaking cathedral which is justifiably famous, but you want to see it inside and renovated outside. So best to skip this until it reopens or if you are in the area and have time.

Visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, even though it was closed, was absolutely unforgettable. I arrived late in the evening, and the way the cathedral was lit up gave it a magical and majestic feel. The deep blue lights cast a mesmerizing glow over the structure, making it a truly breathtaking sight against the night sky. The gargoyles perched on top of the cathedral seemed to come alive in the fading light. Their eerie shadows danced across the façade, adding to the Gothic charm of the building. I was completely captivated by the intricate details of the exterior, with every carving and sculpture telling its own unique story of history and art. The Notre-Dame Cathedral is more than just a building; it symbolizes the rich history of France, standing strong for over 850 years. The construction started in 1160 and was finished in 1345, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship and perseverance of humanity. Each stone was carefully placed by hand, a true testament to the skill and dedication of the builders. This cathedral has witnessed significant events throughout history, from the turbulence of the French Revolution to the grand coronations of kings. Despite wars, natural disasters, and even the threat of destruction, it remains resilient, representing the pinnacle of French Gothic architecture. As I stood there, I couldn't help but feel a profound connection to the past, imagining all the historical moments that have unfolded within and around these walls. The Notre-Dame Cathedral is not just a monument; it's a living piece of history. I highly recommend a visit to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the essence of French culture and witness architectural brilliance firsthand.

This cathedral was amazing inside and out. Unfortunately, since it burned, you can't go inside of course. The most beautiful part of it is totally destroyed and you can only see the two towers part. Everything is under reconstruction and eventually, when it's all done, you won't be seeing the real and original cathedral, but a replica. Such a shame....

The cathedral is still closed after the deadly fire incident a couple of years prior. Renovation works are underway to ensure the site could be opened sometime in 2024. One can find details of this accident outside the Cathedral. It is one of the historical attractions in the city and can't wait for its opening.

The grandeur of this gothic cathedral can be seen even through the scafiloldings being used to restore the cathedral after the fire of a few years ago. In the square in front there are benches where you can sit and admire the cathedral's beauty. Access to the Cathedral is closed off by and exhibition describing the works carried out, with insights from the team, it's written in both French and English and extremely interesting.

One of the most amazing and iconic architectural symbols I've ever seen. The grand scale and sheer art are just dazzling. Thousands of little details, symbols, saints, gargoyles and others form this magnificent cathedral which is simply the highest form of art. Along the northern side there are numerous photos depicting the disaster that caused the cathedral to be shut down ever since. Hopefully we'll be able to visit inside it next time were in Paris. Do not miss!

I am so glad that I got the chance to see Notre Dame before the devastating fire in April 2019. Words cannot describe what an impressive work of art this church is both inside and out. I am so happy I have photos of the Spire that was completely destroyed in the fire. It is such a wonderful memory. Watching the news and seeing how the work is ongoing to bring the church back is such a labour of love. I am hoping though, that they do not change the make changes to the church as I heard there was talk about having modern updates made. Thankfully none of the stained glass was seriously damaged from the fire. The new spire is supposed to be in place this by the end of this year and the restorations are supposed to be completed by Dec. 2024. The gargoyles were so impressive. We are looking forward to going back and seeing the restorations and how the church will look in comparison to how it was. I hope that the Notre Dame exhibits of the construction project will remain after the church is opened again. It will be a testament to all the work that was done.

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, which means “Our Lady of Paris,” is a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture. Built in the 12th century, this important monument has witnessed many historical events and inspired Victor Hugo's story about the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is located on the eastern side of the City Island on the Seine River and in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, that is, in the historical heart of Paris Outside the cathedral you can admire its grand exterior flanked by an elegant pair of bell towers, stained glass windows and a facade decorated with large statues. You can also enter the cathedral for a small admission fee to view Neo-Gothic artwork and furniture as well as join their weekly sessions.

This is a beautiful building, we visited during the rebuilding after the huge fire, it was still amazing and can’t wait to return once she reopens to the public. 10/10 for history and architecture, to forgot to take a visit into the underground crypt next to the cathedral it is well worth a visit.

It was disappointing that 3/4 of the structure was covered/surrounded by tall metal panels that you couldn’t see through. Even though it’s burned and under construction I would have loved to see more of it. They erected a set of bleachers on the square for the public to sit and look at the front, but to see any of the rest you have to cross the Siene to see over the panels and through the scaffolding.

(Translated by Google) We visited the Cathedral a few years ago and by now everything and more has been said about the "Splendida Gotica" building ... but I just wanted to assure you that the hunchback has moved, he is gone 🤣🤣🤣. In the meantime, many things have happened between fires and closures for Covid19, but the memory remains of that incredible atmosphere that can only be breathed in Paris and in the crowded boulevards. All with their noses in the air then, to see the gargoyles of the spiers come to life in the shadows of the evening which, romantic, remind us that Paris is Paris.

Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral (In French: "Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris") is one of the oldest French cathedrals in the Gothic style. Construction started in 1163, it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is located on the Île de la Cité in Paris, surrounded by the waters of the River Seine. On April 15, 2019, at 6:50 pm local time, the cathedral caught fire causing damage to the tower and roof. The extent of the damage was initially unknown as to what caused the fire, although it was suggested that it was linked to the renovation of the cathedral. A spokesman said the entire wooden frame would likely fall and that the building's vault could also be threatened. So far the Cathedral is under renovation and closed for visits !!! Visited July 2012

Historical and beautiful cathedral that is a must visit when in Paris. A lot of people outside church playing music and hanging out. The fence around the church details facts and stories of this church like when it was built and what happened the day it unfortunately caught on fire. It details all the damage it suffered and much more. Apparently the church is supposed to open again for visit in the fall of 2024. Hopefully next time I visit it will be open for tourists again.

The famous Notre Dame cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture is regarded as symbolic heart of Paris. It's construction began in the 12th century, the iconic building stands on the Île de la Cité at a very prominent location alongside River Siene, the birth place of my all time favourite book Pyar ka Pehla Shehr by Legendary Mustansar Hussain Tarar. This building has seen all wars, famine, happiness and now a fire. It is in the process of being built back to its original fine beginnings but it would take years to completely restore it.

Such an amazing display of architectural feats. From the flying buttresses that protrude from the outer walls to the towers that made this the tallest structure in Paris until the Eiffel Tower was built, one can marvel all day at its magnificence. The three rose windows are incredible when the light shines through. The gargoyles outside actually help redirect the rain water as it cascades off the roof to help with erosion. The ceilings of Notre Dame aren't the Sistine Chapel, but they are equally as lovely in terms of architecture and symmetry. I am blown away that this building survived the French Revolution. We're talking about a building that's been more than 860 years in development--that's nearly a millenium! To put that into perspective, the US is only 245 years old. Incredible, right? We nearly lost this amazing spectacle in 2019 to a fire, but I hope the funding received by the cathedral will be put to good use restoring this not-so-modern marvel. The French are a beautiful people, and this is just one example of their accomplishments. The French are also a revolutionary people, so I really appreciate the fact that this building remains and didn't fall during the Revolution. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to visit. I will never forget the hospitality that was shown to me during my time in Paris.

The cathedral's construction began in 1163 under Bishop Maurice de Sully and was largely complete by 1260, though it was modified frequently in the following centuries. In the 1790s, Notre-Dame suffered desecration during the French Revolution; much of its religious imagery was damaged or destroyed. In the 19th century, the cathedral was the site of the coronation of Napoleon I and the funerals of many presidents of the French Republic. Popular interest in the cathedral blossomed soon after the 1831 publication of Victor Hugo's novel Notre-Dame de Paris (better known in English as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame). This led to a major restoration project between 1844 and 1864, supervised by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The Allied liberation of Paris in 1944 was celebrated within Notre-Dame with the singing of the Magnificat. Beginning in 1963, the cathedral's façade was cleaned of centuries of soot and grime. Another cleaning and restoration project was carried out between 1991 and 2000.

Unfortunately there was this little fore that happened that burned down a huge portion of the cathedral. BUT it was a good place to sit down and view at the almost-grandeur of what it may have been. Hopefully I’ll be able to return one day to be able to see it and it’s full magnificent.

Just beautiful, there is no need for a big description because this place talks for it self. Famous from history, movies and story telling it was a real gift to have the chance to see it in person before the big fire occurred...hope to get back when the church is restored.

A beautiful building! So grateful it was not completely burned in the fire. Lots of repair work going on. The building is closed to tourists. You can see a concerted effort to repair the structure. Hopefully, work is completed by the 2024 Olympics. I can’t wait to walk inside and throughout the church

To say this place is breathtaking is an understatement. Between the history, sheer size, and time invested in the construction of such a beautiful place is truly awe inspiring. Do yourself a favor and just sit to take in the moment while you're there. Would definitely recommend.

Incredibly impressive building, even post fire it is still beautiful and you can feel the level of intense and intricate restoration that is on going. While it’s being rebuilt you can marvel at the level of work that’s going into it, and in time you will be able to enjoy it again

I was awed by how much the reconstruction and restoration work has been done. There’s a large wall of pictures and history of the cathedral. Some of the pictures were very moving, especially the one that shown down from the hole where the spire was.

Iconic and beautiful church even if you can’t go inside and with all the construction around, it is still a must see attraction in Paris. I suggest going around sunset because the lighting is really great and there are bleachers for people to sit in front and appreciate its beauty as you have a little snack in the viewing area.

It is interesting to see ND under reconstruction. There are many boards with information about the reconstruction, the cathedral and its history. I recommend a walk around the whole cathedral, behind it you can see the newly built temporary quarters for the workers involved in the repair.

This a beautiful landmark. It's impressive in size and style. A lot of people around. It is situated on a large roundabout which is accessible by a well lit underpass. There is an entrance for ticket holders for the inside of it but also for people who just want a walk around the outside, which we did. Well worth a look.

(Translated by Google) Most of the tourist attractions in Paris were built after the 19th century (Paris major remodeling), but this Notre Dame cathedral (our lady's meaning = Virgin Mary) and the 16th century are said to have been built in the 12th century. The Louvre Museum, which is said to have been built in Paris, is by far the oldest. According to the book, building taller buildings than this cathedral has been forbidden by strict architectural rules in Paris, and in the Middle Ages the priests of this cathedral were higher than the cathedral from above the cathedral. He said he was watching the building so that it wouldn't be built, but I can't find the source. Even though the interior is closed and the exterior is covered with scaffolding, this is still an essential Paris stop. There are displays in front of the cathedral with helpful information and (when we visited) street musicians outside. We were glad we came. Note: the path and garden behind the cathedral is closed off.
