It's a lovely little zoo. The trees and landscaping make it feel really nice, especially in spring and summer when the flowers are out. The animals are well looked after and they are clearly trying to update and improve the living conditions as time goes on. Great collection of animals in such a small space. Easy to get round in foot and there are some benches to rest on. I'm in love with the ground hornbills. I think they're amazing. Especially the two up by the tapirs. Was also great to see Tamara the baby tapir out and about in her paddock.

Visited here today with some friends and was left feeling extremely disappointed with our visit. I have no idea how this zoo is even open. I was excited to see the big cats however, the area they were in just seemed so small. One Lion on its own just looked so sad and lonely, it was a hot day and I couldn’t see that they had any water. The area where the one snow leopard was, was so small compared to the huge open space the tortoises are. Apparently there were tigers too but we didn’t see them. We paid £41 for 2 adults and 1 child and feel this was such a waste of money. The place is so run down. All the enclosures just seemed small, unclean and overgrown. I would not recommend this Zoo, and I most definitely will not be returning.

A lovely little zoo. Very quiet so you can go around in your own time without feeling harrassed. Not commercialised so don't expect any keeper talks or feeding times.

Has potential to be a great intimate little zoo but many of the enclosures need some work & improvement. Especially the snow leopards pen which was quite a sad sight. Could t help but notice the private property on site having substantial work done and it did make me wonder where the money was been used but if unrelated then I apologise. Regardless I think this place could be great with some TLC and thought.

Great for younger children. Variety of animals to see, especially the large cats. Lots of free parking and large picnic area which you can use and then re enter the zoo as many times as you like. Reasonable entry price too. Wheelchair accessible also. Took my 14 year old who is autistic and he loved it. Nice, small zoo and not too loud and busy which is great for people with ASD.

Great zoo, would highly recommend a visit. Its not very big but still has lots of animals including some very rare and exotic ones. It takes a couple hours to get round. Unfortunately, a lot of the viewing windows were very dirty and unable to see through.

Linton Zoo is a lovely little zoo. The trees and landscaping make it feel really nice to walk around. The animals are well looked after and they are clearly trying to update the cages etc Cafe food and drinks are fair price too. Toilets facilities have been updated and clean. Will be back soon 👍

Great zoo , some amazing animals and you can see the love and care for every animal there, definitely one of the best zoos I have visited. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and all seem to have a genuine care and compassion for animals , wish I could give this more stars , incredible

I visited here with my elderly disabled mother. She needs support with her mobility. There is NO free entry for carers so the cost was £27. You could get in to Colchester or London Zoo for this amount, and they are obviously bigger and better. There are very few toilets. The pathways are a bit rough in places due to tree roots, so make it a bit tricky for people with mobility issues. This zoo is very small, you could easily see everything in 90 minutes without rushing. I have to agree with some of the other reviews, the enclosures for the big cats seem tiny. The giant tortoises seemed to have more space. On a positive note the animals do seem to be well cared for. When we visited the cafe area was closed and they were only serving drink and food outside. Would I return? No. Would I recommend it to a friend? Overall it was a pleasant enough experience but there are better/cheaper options so probably no.

Even on a wet and windy Saturday in December we still managed to lose track of time and spent 3+hours here; it's wonderful! It is a medium sized zoo, still lovely and focused on the animals as not commercial. You will need a good waterproof jacket and sturdy shoes, the paths are not all paved or flat, puddles were abundant. There is a variety of beautiful creatures to observe with good bitesized information plaques by each enclosure. The one way system at the zoo and prior to visiting the covid booking system online makes it easier to plan and navigate your trip. The signs by each enclosure are great for kids as it explains social distancing based on which animal you can see. There are so many animals here we didn't expect to see and all look very healthy well cared for and have lots of room to roam. The big cats were quite active, the parrots are quite vocal and it's a good day out despite needing to picnic in the car. Coffee and tea looked like it was available at the cafe but we did not purchase any from here. We are now considering membership so we can visit multiple times without breaking the bank.

A small but well stocked zoo full of the sort of animals most people spend all day trudging around to find in other zoos. The highlights were the African Grey Parrots, the Lions and the Snow Leopards. The disappointment was the Tiger as she wasn't showing herself today and there is no indoor viewing of her sleeping quarters so we just couldn't see her. Food and drinks are fairly reasonable. You can walk around the zoo a couple of times in a morning but it's worth going round again to see the animals that were asleep before.

It's nice to see the variety of animals they have in there, as well as how specialised they are trying to preserve. It doesn't look like being in a zoo, but having a walk in the park!

What a perfect little zoo. The animals were very content and I took a wheelchair user around the park and it was reasonably easy. A few tree roots made it difficult but not impossible. If there was any niggle it was the quality of the teabags in their tea!!!

Lovely little zoo with big cats, variety of birds and other animals. Still needs help to recover from impact if COVID and if you've got more money than you know what to do with give some to them to help with their snow leopard breeding programme👍💷

Plenty parking space. Good-sized zoo. Lots of animals to see. All nicely spaced out to explore. Very informative and clear signs. Lots of bench to rest around the zoo. Small cafe with a few seats. Serves hot food and drink. Also a picnic area provided with seatings and a decent children play area. Friendly staff with petting session and sink nearby, also with clean toilets.

This is a fantastic place to spend a few hours. We got to see lots of amazing animals up close, including the lions, tigers, zebras and tortoises. Due to covid, picnics are to be taken in the car park, there's plenty of grass and shaded areas. There is a one way system around the zoo and a cafe, although we didn't use that as we took a picnic.

Lovely zoo. We enjoy visiting these smaller zoos, as you often see species you don't see in bigger zoos. Especially enjoyed seeing the Scottish wildcats, and the many different hornbills. The male lion with the amazing mane is so beautiful. Well worth a visit

The zoo is okay, over priced for what it is. The layout of the zoo isn't great, don't get to see the animals very close if they are half way up the enclosure. The park was closed. The zoo isn't that well cept. The pathways are just mud and root. And the cages are pretty messing/dirty. Overall unimpressed

Just a nice little zoo to spend the day at, have lunch in the café and enjoy the animals. I would highly recommend a visit, much cheaper prices than the big overpriced zoos, and a good selection of animals.

Very small attraction. A nice walk around but some of the enclosures just seemed so small for the animals, especially the snow leopard who was just pacing. Shame the play area wasn't open. We only managed to spend an hour there. Food is super expensive. £17 for two sandwiches, 2 bottles of kids drinks and a muffin 😱

We loved our visit. Small zoo, perfect size for my two year old to walk around. There is still plenty to see and do. Nice park and picnic area. Be careful of trip hazards on the footpaths, tree roots everywhere

Free parking. Cafeteria, kids play area , new picnic area near the carpark, toilets and suitable for wheelchair users . There is benches as you are visiting their lovely animals if you fancy a sit down too.

Perfect size venue for a toddler. Animals close enough so he could watch their behaviour. Covid restrictions did not distract from the visit. Will definitely go back.

Fantastic small conservation based zoo where the animals come first & foremost. It's a magical place, very woody with many native trees lining the dirt paths. The staff are wonderful and the animals are well looked after and look happy. Would recommend for a visit, good for kids and adults alike.

We love this conservation centre. They are helping to look after endangered species, and give a chance for visitors to get up close to some rare animals. Highly recommended to all ages.

  • 3/5 Decebal D. 2 years ago on Google
Decent selection of birds and a few other animals. We were most impressed to see the snow leopards as well as the lions and tiger. Most of the birds had great enclosures. The small variety of lemurs was also nice.

Great animal park. We really enjoyed our visit. It s not too big, (easy to walk around). Some good areas for picnicking unfortunately not open at the moment due to Covid.

  • 5/5 Mark W. 2 years ago on Google
A great little zoo. Entry not expensive, plenty of parking and the walks through the trees surprisingly zen like! Cages are not overgrown, they just have plenty of greenery to keep the animals from just being show pieces. Nice little cafe area or you can eat your own food back at the car. Pleasantly surprised and well worth a visit for a morning or afternoon

Lovely little place, stopped off here with my brother as we had 4 hours to kill and loved the place. Also love that they’re a conservation park, if you’re nearby make sure to stop by!

Have been here a number of times for the kids, but will not be visiting again after they reopen. A badly run small zoo, and the management have a poor attitude. Do yourself a favour, visit Shepreth, Hamerton, or Colchester instead.

Good place for a day out with kids. Everything is fairly close to one another so no need to take everything with you. You can always quickly nip back to the car if you need anything.

Linton is a family favourite of ours to visit. It is a small family run zoo. They are keen on conservation. The animals are lovely and well looked after although some enclosures seem on the small side. Our highlight this last time was the binturongs which were walking about and posing beautifully.

  • 5/5 Mark S. 1 year ago on Google
Really enjoyed our day out here. Small enough that there isn't miles and miles of walking, great selection of animals to see and reasonable admission prices. Had food from the cafe which was also very good. Most people could probably get round and see it all in about 3 hours but it gives you time to go back to any enclosures where maybe the animals were hiding and another opportunity to see them.

Small zoo but well kept, nice family feel and good amount of animals. Took me and my partner about an hour and a half to walk round. Lovely woodland setting and doesn’t feel commercial like some other zoos do. Some of the reviews talk about animals being hard to find but we really didn’t find this, some took a tiny but of looking but the enclosures are mostly large and dense (which is probably better for the animals) . We found all but one or two of the animals. Very reasonable price as well.

Loved the experience: cosy, uncrowded (Sat), fun. The coffee area at the entrance offers snacks and food. Wish it had tactile zoo.

  • 5/5 Abigail P. 9 months ago on Google
Lovely little zoo. Some of the birds were really friendly, coming up to the bars for long periods of time. Although some animals were hard to see amongst their natural theming, I was able to get superb views of all the big cats and the zebras. Very relaxing environment, not at all crowded despite it being a Friday afternoon in half-term.

  • 4/5 Zack S. 10 months ago on Google
Great day out. Had a nice breakfast bap before heading in. Got to see most of the animals there, but due to the surprisingly warm day most of the cats seemed sleepy.

  • 4/5 Elaine L. 8 months ago on Google
Unusual zoo in a natural setting. The focus is very much on conservation and sustainability. There is a very big grass carpark, with good playground equipment and clean toilets. Visitors should be aware there is a strict no food inside zoo area rule, water only allowed. There are ample picnic tables, including some undercover and a very small cafe /shop - you couldn't go inside though, they are still very Covid conscious! As usual with zoos, you take your chance as to how many animals you'll see! The enclosures are full of greenery and very natural so it's easy for the animals to hide (we never saw the tiger), but the environment is peaceful and attractive.

  • 4/5 Jacob E. 3 years ago on Google
A nice little zoo which is reasonably priced compared to the big zoos. The staff were all very friendly and they had a good coranavirus procedures in place. Lots of Tortoises!

  • 5/5 Sophia H. 7 months ago on Google
Small but interesting zoo, you get to know a lot about extinct and endangered species and how to help preserve them. Nature is lovely and u can support their work by purchasing a cute stuffed animal from the cafeteria.

  • 4/5 Monica H. 7 months ago on Google
Lovely little zoo, especially for the smaller animals, the enclosures feel well thought through and engaging. Hopefully they can put money towards continuing to improve the enclosures for their big cats which seem a little less well tailored. The zoo has a nice atmosphere but isn't hugely customer focused. I think a better balance between customer experience and animal welfare (eg either allowing food in the zoo or having more designated picnic areas, having more toilet facilities, having more bins) would probably improve customer satisfaction and thus encourage more donations to improve animal welfare and conservation efforts, which ultimately should be what it's all about!

We went last saturday got there 1015am no booking online was first in, carpark and toilet faclities very good..got inside the zoo and sadly we had gone round in 45 mins alot of the enclosures were very overgrown so couldnt see some of the birds.....saw the snow leopards and the tiger and 3 lions which was nice to see.went back to the car for lunch had another wonder round left approx 1pm....could do we a few trees cutting back as quite dark for the animals tho obviously shade good in summer....we use to go often as a child and with our first daughter but quite a decline since we last went....few years back...gift shop was jist a few bits in the window and u could order a limited menu but eat outside.....it didnt entice you to spend and the zoo looks like it needs some money to spark it up again it was a lovely zoo yrs gone but still nice tho a little tired round the edges....we travelled 2.5hrs to get there so quite a drive for a short visit

Always been a fan of the zoo. Enclosures are nice and natural, the animals are well kept and cared for. Admission price is good, not over expensive so makes it a nice family day out

  • 5/5 Gemma M. 3 years ago on Google
A really lovely, chilled zoo dedicated to its animals. Took a trip here with my two younger cousins and sister. Range of animals, mainly birds and smaller mammals. Beautiful big cats, that are clearly very well looked after. It is designed more towards then animals welfare, as they are not always visable or big attractions, but that's what makes it all the better. Spend time trying to hunt them out in the vegetation, and can go round two or three times. Have handled covid well, and have a small but nice range at cafe. Will defineltly be coming back.

  • 4/5 James A. 3 years ago on Google
Visited in August 2020, very enjoyable visit. We spent around 2 hrs in the zoo. £12 entrance felt reasonable. All the animals looked healthy and the enclosures well looked after. Can get nice up close views of nearly all the animals including the Lions and Tigers. Found the variety of birds the zoo has really interesting compared to other zoos. I’d recommend a visit!

Really disappointing experience yesterday. We've been a few times before and enjoyed it, but the new changes haven't been implemented well. The zoo force you to either buy their food or eat yours in your car. One way system around the zoo is really unclear and not done well. I appreciate all businesses need to change because of the pandemic but other places we've been to have adapted a lot better

The Linton Zoo is a great place for a day out, especially recommended to families, nature lovers and adventurous persons. It's very nice, tidy and organised. Located in a forest-like park on a fairly big land parcel. It can be walked through and across, up & down stopping at each location in about 1.5-2 hours. I would recommend to do it at least twice and spend there at least 3 hours, have a picnic or lunch at the coffee shop/restaurant which is located just by the entrance. I would not recommend the coffee though. Doesn't taste good, it's very likely just some kind of instantly dissolvable powder that is far from real coffee. Currently, due to Covid only people purchasing the food at this place can use the seats with tables. Otherwise, if you took food from home, unfortunately you'll have to use the picknick area which is closed at the moment due to Covid as well. Overall, I can recommend.

Possibly due to,Covid-19, but quite run down. I felt there was too many leaf trees in some of the aviaries, thus making birds hard to see, and also the mesh on the cage was too small. The Zebras had a wonderful large enclosure, but the Kangaroos was pitifully small. Generally a disappointing day.
