One of the best swimming spots and top attraction of the island. If you're a certified scuba diver, you should definitely book a dive here! Ample parking space. 100+ steps down/up. Conditions can be deadly so pay attention to warning signs and security/life guards advice. Once you reach the bottom there's a little crossing to the main rock where you can get into the water. On busy days if you look like a tourist the life guard may not let you cross over to the main rock, depending on the number of people present. Mask/fins and some water is all you need to bring down. Also good to bring a life jacket, pool noodle, or something you can use to float and chill of you don't wanna swim.

This is a world class destination. Do not go alone. If you don’t do stairs every day, prepare to wheeze like Darth Vader in gym class. The stairs are slippery, steep, and uneven. That said, it’s undeniably gorgeous and if you’re an experienced scuba diver, there’s no place in the world quite like it.

Amazing place for free diving, snorkeling, jumping off rocks, climbing stairs, picnics, and scuba diving .Lifeguard on duty 9 AM. Stay away from the waves, people get carried in dangerously into crevasses. Very calm otherwise and pricelessly beautiful

The Blue Hole is the biggest highlight of this Saipan, where you can go directly to the Pacific Ocean. It is just outside the island. This attraction is also known by National Geographic magazine as one of the best diving spots in the world.

We went to dive, extremely rough some days but very beautiful. Recommend for experienced divers, otherwise you should have a guide. The stairs are very steep. You should be in good physical condition.

We didn't swim. A slew of snorkelers in the water. A few divers around. Very steep steps down to Grotto. I felt for the divers carrying tanks and gear back up the stairs.

We went to the Grotto in October 2018. There was nobody there because we went early before the tour guides came. It was incredibly humid but so beautiful. We did not go in the water, but would love to try to go the next time we are there. No pictures can do this justice!

This place is gorgeous and just amazing to see in person. Pictures are almost doing it justice. So fun to swim in a cavern. There's plenty of steps to go down and up so make sure you can walk them cause they will tire you out if you're not in shape.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. I cannot describe the feeling of jumping in and just looking around you. The water is so clear and you can see everything around you. Bring your flippers!!!! Flippers makes it much easier to swim around.

This place is good for skin diving and snorkeling. It is very safety for beginners. Not so many fishes but great experience.

I went to Grotto with the Marianas Trekking Saipan - Blue Grotto Snorkeling Tour on a Sunday in November. Sadly I was the only one on the tour but I'm glad Marianas Trekking didnt cancel the snorkeling tour. My snorkeling guide Arman was very nice and great at guiding me around Grotto. Unfortunately, the current was very strong and waves were crazy so there wasn't alot of fish. But I still had fun and it was beautiful.

So nice to be back here. Be prepared for a steep decline and trek back up! It is definitely worth the visit. There's no need to purchase tickets. If getting cardio isn't your thing, you can go through the overlook and see it from atop and get the view of the coastline.

Recommend to have a local guide. Me and my bf paid $25 each for a guide and he allowed us to stay longer and we enjoyed so much!

Google maps tried to take us through the back road by the landfill- do not go through that way, the road does not connect! Follow brown signs. Great place.

The Grotto is a great place to snorkel, though entry to the grotto and exit from the water is a bit tricky, so I would recommend tourists go with a guide company (we went with Saipan Adventures who had both Korean and English speaking guides). We saw several different kinds of fish near the back of the grotto at the entrance to the ocean.  The water is clear and warm with little surge, but watch your head if you go towards the back, the cave walls are sharp and surge can push your head up to them quickly.  Being inside the cave helps to keep sunburn at bay. We saw several scuba divers there, but we were told it’s not a beginner dive spot (apparently at least one beginner diver has died there, so listen to your dive guide!). Make sure to leave some energy in your legs for the 100+ stair climb back up to the parking lot.  Non-slip sandals would be a good idea too.

Beautiful place to see. There are a few steps to get down to this lush, deep blue, gulley. It's pretty and a good photo spot. I think it is more about the snorkeling and diving. Top rated dive spot in Saipan and world renown. But, DO NOT GO ALONE. Be safe and hire a guide, as the entry, exit, surge, and currents are all tricky and best done with someone who knows what they're doing. Totally worth every penny to get in the water there!

The walk down on a sunny day I fully recommend, be careful with little ones o your way down especialy if it has been raining(slippery). Restroom is not always open.

👍 There is a small island called Bird Island in the eastern part of Saipan. If you are lucky, you can use the telescope on the observation deck on the shore to clearly see that there are many different kinds of birds on the island. But this is luck. If you are not lucky then you can only see the is...

👍 Beautiful sheltered beach. There is a two track road to a trail you can take to get down. The currents between the beach and the island can be DEADLY so its not a good swimming beach. There is also wash up from the Pacific Trash mass so it is not the cleanest. It is still worth seeing though and...

👍👍 I highly recommend this old radar. The paint chips are plentiful and very delicious. They peel with an ease, for a nutritious treat on a hot summers day.
