Unique
place
in
Cape
Verde
and
probably
around
the
world.
Viewing
the
shipwreck
should
not
be
missed.
Be
warned
though:
getting
here
requires
either
a
4x4
or
a
quad
(quad
tours
offer
this
place
as
one
of
their
stops).
It
is
truly
an
off-road
experience,
so
the
adventurous
types
will
love
the
journey
here.
For
others,
you
can
also
get
here
via
guided
tour
from
Sal
Rei
(or
probably
a
hotel
on
other
parts
of
the
island).
If
you're
renting
a
car,
don't
be
afraid
to
drive
into
roads
that
don't
look
like
roads
when
following
Google
Maps.
Sometimes
I
wondered
whether
Maps
was
showing
me
the
right
way
as
I
didn't
know
whether
I
was
allowed
to
drive
on
these
parts
(the
first
curveball
came
when
exiting
the
main
road
onto
a
dirt
road).
You
can
trust
maps
here
-
there
is
no
one
official
way
to
get
to
the
wreck.
You'll
know
you're
on
the
right
path
when
you
spot
the
small
rocks
with
red
arrows
on
them
pointing
the
way.
Unfortunately
the
beach
is
littered
quite
heavily,
though
walking
on
a
little
further
down
past
the
wreck
there
is
a
nice
stretch
of
sand
where
no
one
goes
and
one
can
be
secluded
from
visitors
(visitors
are
usually
sparse,
as
tours
stop
here
for
a
limited
time
and
then
leave,
so
getting
here
alone
has
its
advantages).
4
stars
due
to
the
littering.
Otherwise
a
great
experience.
