Its the biggest public hospital in the three northern regions of Ghana. Its is also the busiest of all hospitals in the three northern regions. After renovations, facelifts by the late Professor Mills, its one of the leading hospitals in the nation. Aside that, it serves as a college of training for the University for Development studies and other health colleges in the region.

i did a six week clinical attachment at the physiotherapy department. I observed that the administrative body of the hospital have not being paying close attention to the Physical Therapy department. I plead with the administration of TTH to help solve the challenges that the department is facing because it receives a whole lot of referral cases from not TTH alone but several hospitals in the metropolis and even beyond. The Physical therapists and Physical therapy assistants are doing a great job. Also, I was on Ward rounds for two weeks and i would say the workers are really committed and discipline

Great facilities but some of their workers don't serve with professionalism and can be very rude. On few occasions I observed their environment was not kept neat and hygienic with fowl smells. In fact the administration and facility managers needs to step up their game.

My friend has a 9 year old little boy hit by a truck. This hospital is demanding $3000.00 before they will touch him. Really?? How inhuman can you get. I will rerate after I see what they do for him He is unconscious again and they want to send him home because his parents are not paying

I have been working at the hospital for some time now at the physiotherapy department and I have seen that patients are really treated well at that department. The workers at the department really have time for the patients

I haven't actually been there. Just looking for a place to spent 3 days quietly in Tamale and almost all I have checked here require I call to know the rates. I think Tamale hotels need to get serious. What is difficult about putting and updating your prices online? Check for a place in Accra and at a glance you find those that meet your budget before you call for booking

Tamale Teaching Hospital Hospital in Northern Region, Ghana The Tamale Teaching Hospital is a Teaching hospital in Tamale in the Northern region of Ghana. It serves as a referral hospital for the three northern regions of Ghana. The main hospital in Northern Ghana, 2km southeast of town. It cooperates with the University for Development Studies in Northern Ghana to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in medicine, nursing and nutrition. It is the third teaching hospital in Ghana after the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Quick Facts: Geography, Location ... History The hospital was established in 1974 and was formerly known as the Tamale Regional Hospital. It was to provide various health care services to the people of the three Northern regions of Ghana namely, the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions. Teaching hospital status In 2005 the Northern Regional Coordinating Council decided to partner the Ghana Health Service to upgrade the hospital to the status of a Teaching Hospital. The upgrade made the hospital the third teaching hospital in the country. The upgrade was to help with the training of health professionals from the University of Development Studies. Mandate The mandate of the hospital is set by Act 525 of the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals Act of 1996. The stipulations of the mandate empowers the hospital to function in three critical areas namely, the provision of advanced clinical health services, supporting the training of undergraduates and postgraduates in medical sciences and finally, undertaking research into health issues for the purpose of improving health care. Infrastructural Development The hospital in 2012 had a donation of 335,000 Ghana cedis for the construction of an ultra modern Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The donation from MTN Ghana was in response to a need identified by Lord Paul Boateng and his wife when the visited the hospital in 2011. The completed units as of July 2015 have facilities to serve forty neonates and their mothers. It also contains office spaces as well as students' learning areas. The hospital secured a dedicated power cable from Akosombo to supply them with uninterpreted electricity. Governing Board An 11-member governing body for the Tamale Teaching Hospital was inaugurated on 28 February 2019. The members of the board include Mr. Mahmoud Hamid (Chairman), Dr. David Zawumya Kolbilla, Prof. Francis A. Abantanga, Mr. George A. Atampugre, Dr. Abass Adam, Mrs. Dangnikuu Evelyn-Eda. Others are Mr. Kuuri Karim, Pham. Hamid Abdulai, Nana Agyei Mensah, Justice Eric Baah and Clara Tia Sulemana.

This is the referral for the entire 5 Northern Regions; Upper West, Upper East, North East, Savannah and the Northern Region itself. It serves some parts of the former Brong-Ahafo region. For a facility to serve such a wide landmass, you can imagine what it has in store. For all of my visits, I have been given the professional treatment there is.

It was a nice experience at the Ganaa hotel. Beautiful place but you can still work on your sound system at the conference hall. It was below average, also washrooms at the conference hall wasn't all that functional as flush had no enough water to carry waste away. All in all it's very beautiful place with good reception

Nice building and beautiful rooms but poor hospitality and poor rooms services. Water shortage and rationing of water to various floors. Poor lighting system especially around the stairs. I plead with management to work on it for easy patronage. Thanks.

My stay at Ganaa Hotel was a lovely experience. Good food and lovely staff. The rooms are very spacious. I had a safe to myself and the room service was exquisite. There is a large parking space. It is an ideal place for family vacations and business trips. They offer Conference Room services and the parking space can accommodate a large number of guest parking. The swimming pool was however not functional in my last visit. Give it a try anytime you visit Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Terrible service, unclean and smelly rooms, dirty compound and pool. Water cuts every other minute while bathing and it's clearly dirty water too. They could do so much better because it's a really nice hotel and their rooms aren't actually that bad if they took the time to take care of them. Washroom at the reception is the literal worst. Never visiting again.
