I was not impressed with this tour at all from a tourism perspective. The market was torn down and never rebuilt so everything is pretty much destroyed and there is not much to see at all. The actual history explained of the market is interesting, but the tour was over in 15-20 minutes so it just isn't worth driving here from Tamale for 2.5 hours in my opinion. I really hope the market does not continue to be neglected and more attention is placed on it. -Christina Jane, Travel Lifestyle Blogger: beingchristinajane.com

The historical site is now a normal market site with nothing special to see except for the name

A nice place to visit. Has a lot of historical artefacts to witness. A one time ancient town with a commercial value. Economic icon of West Africa.

It's a nice place to be. A wall is built around that distinguished the market from the town. It was first a bus station but no. Just visit there and be blessed

Doesn't look like it but has this strong smell of what you can't tell. Been decades but still has a lot of flies around. Now station that conveys people to tamale and it's environs.

I'm always pleased with sharing things that go to help others in one way or the other. I look forward to meeting someone anywhere for a nice adventurous communication. This is my fervent hope

Is a place to be and explore. Lots of history and rich Ghanaian culture.

Just passed through the town and stayed for about 3 hours. From my observation, most of the areas around had tarred roads. The most popular transport system there is the yellow tricycle.

It was still under construction when I visited there. I hope they will finish in no time.

It's a place of historical significance. It is however not well maintained and organisation is poor
