Cute little museum that’s maybe a 15 minute walk from Embajadores. The walk follows the river and is quite enjoyable. I was told by the caretaker that the house was originally part of the water tower and it’s connected to the aqueduct system. Definitely worth an hour or so.

Really nice museum with lots of beautiful collections. Highly recommend. Staff is very patient and provides English explanation. 15 pesos for students.

Lovely little museum with a gorgeous patio. I had never heard of either artist before but learned a lot on the tour and am now a big Olga Costa fan. Not sure if they also give tours in English but would recommend visiting!

Like a miniature version of Frida Kahlo’s house. Well-preserved home on a beautiful lot with a garden and one floor of artwork by the house’s owners. (March 2019)

A painting on the wall in the enterance of an alley caught my eyes. You don’t expect something valuable inside but a little well-managed-garden-like museum.

Lovely intimate museum dedicated to the work of Olga Costa. The attendant told me Jose Morado’s art is located in Leon, not here. Olga’s art is quite good, and the home is adorable. I watched a short video interview with her while I was there, and she had a fascinating life. I had not been previously familiar with her work but I left impressed. The most touching thing I encountered was a love poem written by Jose upon her death. It was on a plaque in the outdoor garden and clearly showed how much he loved her.

The place is kind of hidden so you can view the place at your own pace. You can't take pictures of Olga's artwork but you can at the rest of the house. The garden gives you a peaceful feeling, I enjoyed the picture album, it would be nice if they captioned the pictures.

Quaint little museum, former house of José Chavez Morado, a local painter & sculptor of great talent; and his wife, Olga Costa, who was also a great painter. The museum is small but it packs value in its bite-sized exhibits of Mexican modern art & the works of Olga and José. The house itself is a sight to behold.

Took our scooter out and about and found this by accident. A very interesting and tranquil spot.

Our favorite museum in the city. Manuel was an amazing guide, personable, and great storyteller. The art, the history, and the architecture were splendid. A great experience!

The museum itself was great but Manuel made the experience one of a kind. We showed up at 3PM on a Saturday and were the only guests there. Manuel walked us through the entire property and took the time to explain almost every single artifact and piece of art. Visiting during día de muertos was great because there was a beautiful altar set for Jose and Olga in the interior garden. We stood with Manuel for what seemed like an hour by the altar while he shared many personal and special stories of his years spent with Jose and Olga. We never expected to leave the museum with such an appreciation for these wonderful artists. If you visit, don’t be afraid to ask many questions and learn from the wonderful staff!

The museum itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, there was no local guide available to help explain the history and cultural significance of the buildings and the couple. Still, the art and architecture are both beautiful and recommended viewing. I especially enjoyed the walk along the dry riverbed and seeing the aquatiduct arches. The history of this place is truly amazing.

It turned out to be a not that well-known so we were given an incredible private tour with my friend. The house and the garden were beautiful and the guide really made it worthwhile. She was do welcoming and happy to answer our questions. I would certainly recommend this unknown gem in the city of Guanajuato
