Responsibility is yours to respect its surroundings, its not a holiday its a memorial where individuals suffered on a daily basis under the hands of Germans

It you're interested in the history of Riga and unfortunately the pain they had to suffer, this is a most visit, pay respect and learn more about their history. There's a small museum, with exhibits in different languages. There are giant sculptures that tower over you and are a site to see, with explanation about them in the museum. We've only seen it during the winter and covered in snow, which gave it a rather beautiful image, so can't comment what it's like without. FYI: there's one toilet for all in the entire place, in a little cabin. I'm adding this because I think it's good to know. After exploring such a space, you may need to relieve your bladder. We spent nearly 2 hours here.

Historians are still working out what exactly occurred here and our tour guide was very good on explaining what was factual and what is still unsure. When two sides (Germany and USSR) both use the same location for bad things, it is hard to separate truth from propaganda to make the other side look worse. Bad things happened in this location, and I am glad historians are sorting it out.

We took the train from Rīga to train station Dārziņi. Crossed the railway. Then passed the station building. On it's right side there is sign that shows direction of Salaspils Memorial Ensemble. We had to walk about 2km. The Ensemble is very impressive and well kept...There is also museum that shows the history, photographs and personal items ...

Very interesting monuments to a very dark part of human history. The tallest stone sculptures I've ever seen.

A leisure place to be able to walk, bike, ski, etc. But feeling the racing charisma of this racing circuit. I loved every minute on the track. 🤩🤩🤩

(Translated by Google) Atmospheric, few people, lots of space. If you have social phobia, claustrophobia in one bottle, then it is a pleasure to rest there. I advise. (Original) Атмосферно, мало людей, много пространства. Если у вас социофобия, клаустрофобия в одном флаконе то отдыхать там одно удовольствие. Советую.

I loved this memorial. It was simply beautiful, with a harrowing, and tragic story. The heart beats through the entire memorial. One of my best stops in Latvia.

Was great to learn something new, which hasn't been teached in history class. At least this wasn't. Heartbeat gives chills. Inside there was a little ultrasound coming from the text plate, but it wasn't so bad. Stone statues look great, and inside the building you get an explanation what they mean.

Unique memorial. It was easy walk around the site and the building had a museum tucked inside of it explaining the history of the site.

Somber and impressive memorial originally erected in 1967. In addition to the statues, there is a small exhibition about the history of the site and the memorial itself.

Worth a visit and watch the videos in the memorial too. Only thing I wasn't keen on was the exhibition on how they built the memorial, it didn't seem fitting but maybe that's just me.

Every cement board, that is, the floor of every cell in that year, holds at least 19 to 35 people in this cell.

This place is emotionally heavy if you read about its history. The memorial itself is an amazing work of art. The statues on the field each have a meaning behind them and one of them holds a secret. Thr continues heartbeat gives this place an unique atmosphere.

Beautiful a awful word to describe the horror it represents. The statues looked beautiful and the details looked beautiful. The stone with the heartbeat is a sad, but beautiful representation.

(Translated by Google) Behind the gates of the Salaspils memorial ensemble there is a land. Very, very quiet. Heartbeats sound in this silence - so unobtrusive, so rhythmic. (Original) Aiz Salaspils memoriāla ansambļa vārtiem vaid zeme. Ļoti, ļoti klusu. Šai klusumā skan sirdspuksti - tik neuzbāzīgi, tik ritmiski.

Concrete walls with sharp coolness and memories of the former and adjacent heartbeats .. a place for reflection, feelings (Original) Iespaidīgas skulptūras. Memoriāls nav novērtējams, jo tā ir piemiņas vieta. Betona sienas ar skaudro vēsumu un atmiņām par bijušo un blakus skanošie sirdspuksti.. vieta pārdomām, sajūtām
