This
hike
takes
you
through
an
absolutely
beautiful
landscape
and
is
a
must
for
all
hikers
and
nature
lovers!
If
you
spend
3+
days
in
Riga,
I
highly
recommend
you
add
it
to
your
itinerary.
The
transportation
from/to
Riga
may
seem
daunting
at
first,
but
it’s
definitely
worth
it.
I
added
some
info
on
transportation
below.
Also,
you
can
easily
combine
this
hike
with
a
visit
to
Jūrmala
beach
(Majori
train
station).
You
can
choose
between
a
~1.5km
and
a
~3.5km
hike.
The
latter
will
take
you
to
an
observation
tower
of
about
10m.
Take
that
one
to
enjoy
some
surreal
scenic
views.
The
boardwalk
is
in
good
shape
for
the
most
part.
Few
boards
are
a
bit
shaky
or
damaged,
but
we
didn’t
have
any
issues.
Some
boards
may
get
a
bit
slippery
after
rain.
Just
be
a
bit
more
careful
then.
TRANSPORTATION
The
closest
train
station
(Kemeri)
is
about
3-3.5km
walk
to
the
starting
point
of
the
trail.
It’s
an
easy
walk
(~1km
along
paved
road
and
~2km
along
a
forest
road).
You
have
to
cross
a
highway,
but
it’s
not
very
busy.
The
train
passes
every
hour
or
so.
Cost
of
the
train:
2.10€
p.p.
You
can
buy
the
ticket
online
or
on
the
train.
(1)
Alternatively,
you
could
take
a
bus
from
that
same
station
up
north
to
Kauguri
2
and
take
another
bus
to
Riga
from
there.
(2)
You
can
take
a
Bolt
from
a
train/bus
stop
close
by
to
the
parking
lot.
However,
you
probably
will
have
to
walk
back.
