Lovely walk through Kemari bog, around 4 km around the big circle and 2 km around the smaller one. There are places where you can sit and enjoy the scenery through the path. And at the tower, there is a beautiful view of the swamp. If you want to learn more about the swamp there are information boards around the path in English, Latvian and Russian languages.

This hike takes you through an absolutely beautiful landscape and is a must for all hikers and nature lovers! If you spend 3+ days in Riga, I highly recommend you add it to your itinerary. The transportation from/to Riga may seem daunting at first, but it’s definitely worth it. I added some info on transportation below. Also, you can easily combine this hike with a visit to Jūrmala beach (Majori train station). You can choose between a ~1.5km and a ~3.5km hike. The latter will take you to an observation tower of about 10m. Take that one to enjoy some surreal scenic views. The boardwalk is in good shape for the most part. Few boards are a bit shaky or damaged, but we didn’t have any issues. Some boards may get a bit slippery after rain. Just be a bit more careful then. TRANSPORTATION The closest train station (Kemeri) is about 3-3.5km walk to the starting point of the trail. It’s an easy walk (~1km along paved road and ~2km along a forest road). You have to cross a highway, but it’s not very busy. The train passes every hour or so. Cost of the train: 2.10€ p.p. You can buy the ticket online or on the train. (1) Alternatively, you could take a bus from that same station up north to Kauguri 2 and take another bus to Riga from there. (2) You can take a Bolt from a train/bus stop close by to the parking lot. However, you probably will have to walk back.

Absolutely awesome. Take the longer loop - the views from the tower are great and you'll see more of the ponds. Few visitors. Parking costs 3 euro, the last kilometer of so of the access road is gravel (but ok).

Really good place for a walk. Especially early summer morning. Big and Forrest are amazing. Trail is not too long. Well made pathways. There are two options - longer and shorter one

Great place to have a walk solo or with friends and family. Parking available. The bigger trail consist of a watch tower in the middle where you will get a whole view of the area. Pet friendly too. There are benches to sit as well in between the trail.

Definitely worth a visit if staying more than 2/3 days in Riga. There is a direct train that departures from the central station and stops at the Kemeri station. Ticket is 2.10€, can be bought online and the journey lasts less than 1 hour. you can walk around 5km until the beginning of the trail. The trail is easy and the longer one is recommended to visit the higher viewing platform.

⚠️ If you’re coming by TRAIN from Riga, you need to walk 40-50 min on the road without sidewalks . ⚠️ for the bog trail The only bad thing about this park Otherwise really nice and beautiful park, worth the visit even if it’s cloudy

Magical place amazing broadwalks and beautiful scenery. We walked from the train station and was a pleasant day trip from Riga. Good mushrooms in the woods before the trail starts

Great track. We did bigger circle and it was worth it. Great watching tower, recommend for everyone. Would need better WC and rest area, but snack option at entrance helps.

Beautiful place, worth to choose longer path to get to the view point. Easy, peaceful walk. If you have more time and the weather is nice take a book or something to chill on one of the benches.

One of the best bog trails in Latvia. 2 circles, the longer one has a view tower. This year they added a few more benches off the path, so you can enjoy the view without blocking the way. No entrance fees except for 2€ for the car park.

Very beautiful. Longer circle is worth a longer walk, you will find a watching tower and a lot of dark watered mini lakes in there. Also there are benches to take a rest if you need to. Dogs are allowed.

Wonderful nature trail, juste make sure to come when the weather is good otherwise the experience will be ruined. The trail is not too long, just enough and at the middle there is a watch tower to have like a bird view of the park. This place is really beautiful, a must see in Latvia!

If you are a nature lover, mus see. Do not be afraid of mosquitos, as they were not present, almost, as we were afraid of them most.
