Good food & stunning views, just a pity there's no non-smoking section.

What a spot.... we came from Capetown for a quick break away. We landed here and did lunch and supper. That how great it was..... staff was 150%. Management 150%. Costs 150% and even a band the night. What a blady joll of a place. Thanks guys. Thanks for all your efford to make your guests feal so welcome and comfortable. Cheers on next visit.

The most popular pub and restaurant in Saldanha Bay, overlooking the North side of the harbour and Langebaan Lagoon. Food is good and drinks are cold and well priced. The atmosphere has all the age groups covered. Accessibility for the much older folk is a challenge due to the tapography of the landscape with lots of stairs to negotiate. All round good, friendly service that makes you feel at home.

The atmosphere is special. Susan our beautiful waitress is honestly the best. You need to catch her on duty and please spend and enjoy the mouth watery menu 😋

We visited Captain’s on our last night in Saldanha. Service was fairly fine. I am giving them two stars because there is cross contamination in the kitchen. I am vegetarian and I did explain this to the kitchen. Unfortunately, they don’t clean their deep fryer so my crumbed mushrooms was contaminated with bits of chicken strips. This was incredibly distressing. We complained to our waiter who then said they would replace the crumbed mushroom. They did so, and I took the replaced crumbed mushrooms home. But when I ate the replaced crumbed mushrooms a day later, there were also bits of chicken with the mushrooms. I was really upset by this as I bit into chicken for the 2nd time in 2 days. They really need to improve their food hygiene in the kitchen or tell their vegan/vegetarian customers that they use the same deep fryer so customers won’t order the mushrooms. They also don’t have a menu online which is a bit annoying.

Incredible steak, loved the atmosphere. Staff were warm and friendly and were always attentive.

We had a lovely afternoon at Captain’s Cabin! We had some drinks and shared a Captains Basket! The food was delicious, staff were friendly and the views were incredible! We’ll be back!! 😊

First time visit to Captain's Cabin Restaurant. Service was really good, our waiter, Pride, was the best. Food was really really good, fresh, tasty and so filling. Views overlooking the beach and sea are breathtaking. Will definitely be back.

Me and my family had fantastic time. The food we amazing and the live music was awesome.

When we arrived the layout looked very promising but... The rack of ribs we ordered tasted like cleaning detergent of some sort as if they didn't wash off the cleaning appliances off properly and they cooked our chicken strips in the same oil as they cook the prawns because they tasted like fishy prawns. Very disappointed

A restaurant and pub situated in the center of the town. You can either access the entrance from the road up the flight of steps or the ramp. A person in a wheelchair may require assistance up and down the ramp. The seating is indoor or under a covered deck which has drop down blinds. The menu is vast, offering pizzas, steak, burgers, pasta and more.

Love it ,the pizzas are wonderful try to get to their upper deck when it's not too chilly, they Hathe the nicest views .when it's chilly there is a fire place.

Our waitor JJ are a absolute perfectionist. Excellent service and great food. Big portions definitely your money worth. Sea view and great atmosphere

Great place to enjoy your date, they have a great menu there is even a playground for kids the service delivery won't disappoint you at all.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor, visit visit, visit! The food is amazeballs, the service is on point and the view epic! Everything we ordered (variety) was done and perfect, not just in prep, but in taste and portion. Job WELL DONE!! What a find - highly recommended!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant and I must say it was a mixed experience. The restaurant had a charming ambiance, with tasteful decor and a warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly and accommodating, providing attentive service throughout the meal. The menu offered a wide range of options, but the execution fell short. While some dishes were flavorful and well-presented, others lacked creativity and left me underwhelmed. The prices were on the higher side, considering the portion sizes. The wait times between courses were longer than expected, which affected the overall pacing of the meal. Despite its shortcomings, it could be a suitable choice for casual dining, especially for its inviting ambiance and friendly service.

One of the two better sit down restaurants in Saldanha. Nice view over the bay. Great friendly service. Seafood platter for two although good variety, unfortunately cold uncooked prawns. After sending back to heat up, ended with upset tummy due to probably uncooked prawns. Not value for money on seafood platter. Will recommend steak or pizza dishes instead of seafood.

The winner every time is the fantastic service... this time it was Johannes that treated us to his friendly, homely hospitality. And it's true what he says... he IS a menu! The oxtail with basmati rice was perfect! The beers were unfortunately British-warm, but the beautiful weather, food and service made up for it.

I cannot remember her name but a tall blond haired lady was kind enough to let me know where I can go to play a game of pool in the evening and because of her kindness I decided that later that evening I was going to gave my dinner at this place. I ordered the fish & chips and a cup of coffee. It was lovely, while I was eating she was nice enough to call the pub and me they were open. When I come back to Saldanha I'm definitely visiting this restaurant again

Place is very nice. Has a band on Sundays. The service was good and quick. The menu is full of good looking food. And their special food board is awesome. Had the 1kg mussels special. Was very good I deed. Come check it out.

One of my favourite places on the West Coast. Always takes me back to when I was only 21 years old. Excellent food great setup, friendly staff, that you would expect of the west coast. You won't regret popping in for a meal and a drink. I'm yet to try the sushi. As soon as I do I'll let you guys know!!!

The staff were very helpful. There was a live one man band for entertainment. The view was great overlooking the calm beach. The food was very good.

The service was a very slow the chicken strips were undercooked orange juice tasted like it was fermented and to make it worse we had seen the huge burger being advertised around so we came for it but got our worst nightmare not only did we sit for over an hour for the burger but the pattie was unnecessarily huge and raw and tasted weird as if it was starting to go bad and the bun was white like really white n the chips probably got cold while they were preparing the burger but the anchor was cute though Then the pasta with chicken mushroom was ridiculous it was like butter with bits of chicken n mushrooms and within a few min it became like candle wax I have to say other days the service is quite good and the food is good but there is a lot that still need to be improved

Food and service was awesome today, had the mussels, tentacles and sushi. Was a bit disappointed there was no oysters but was enjoyable experience nevertheless. Love the revamp on the place, its a great place for lunch on the west coast!

Order the catch of the day with chips and a draft beer whilst overlooking the bay. The place is popular so be prepared to wait a little while for your food.

Worst service ever. We were there Saturday 1 January 2022 planning to have lunch. Waiters completely ignored us. Just walked pass us the whole time, not making any eye contact, pretending we’re not there. We sat there for about 25 minutes and then decided to leave. This is the 3rd time we had a bad experience at Captains Cabin. The first time we received bad service from Captains I did not complain because I gave them the benefit that perhaps they had an “off-day.” The second time around I just did not feel like complaining. But now after our 3rd bad experience at Captains Cabin I simply cannot keep quiet again. It’s not acceptable to treat your customers this way. We WILL NEVER EVER GO TO CAPTAINS CABIN AGAIN. WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF OUR FRIENDS / FAMILY TO GO TO CAPTAINS CABIN.

Excellent layout and decor. Friendly service and great looking menu. Very affordable specials on wednesdays. Must visit when in Saldanha. Attached photo shows the view from the table we sat at.

Came here last weekend will be back again this weekend for hubbies birthday... Amazing drinks friendly service clean bathrooms and such an amazing view.... Love the margaritas.....
