We
moved
to
Costa
Rica
from
Portland,
Oregon
in
July
2020.
When
we
arrived
to
our
rental,
I
spent
two
hours,
emptying
boxes
and
suitcases,
hanging
up
clothes,
twisting
and
turning,
bending
over
and
straightening
from
suitcase
to
closet.
WHAT
a
mistake!
The
next
morning,
I
could
hardly
stand.
I'd
developed
severe
sciatic
pain,
something
I'd
never
had
before.
I
tried
painkillers,
ice,
heat,
etc.
Nothing
worked.
Desperately
searching
the
internet,
I
came
across
a
free
guide
of
tips
and
advice
on
how
to
ease
sciatic
pain
without
painkillers
or
seeing
a
doctor.
After
reading
it,
I
decided
I
needed
to
talk
to
the
author
of
the
guide,
Dr.
Carl
Baird,
who
was
located
in
Portland
(coincidence,
I
think
not!)
What
a
fabulous
idea
that
turned
out
to
be.
Being
in
Costa
Rica,
I
thought
it
might
be
difficult.
Nope,
in
this
time
of
coronavirus,
Dr.
Baird
already
had
Zoom
video
consultations
up
and
running.
He
put
me
through
some
tests
via
our
screens,
asking
various
questions
as
if
I
was
right
there
in
the
office.
We
video
chatted
again
two
days
later
and
he
came
up
with
a
treatment
plan
he
emailed
me.
We
did
a
Zoom
visit
once
a
week
for
eight
weeks,
taking
me
through
my
paces
for
each
exercise,
making
sure
I
was
doing
it
carefully
and
in
good
form.
Eight
weeks
later,
I
was
FEELING
AWESOME!!
Not
only
was
the
sciatic
pain
gone,
but
Dr.
Baird
also
provided
me
with
exercises
I
can
do
at
any
time,
day
or
night,
should
the
pain
come
back.
It's
now
been
two
months
since
I
finished
my
treatment
with
him
and
I
have
had
no
pain,
am
back
to
working
out
and
walking
daily
with
my
pups
in
the
mountains
of
Costa
Rica!!
Dr.
Baird,
you
are
a
wizard
and
I'm
so
very
happy
I
was
able
to
work
with
you
despite
being
4,330
miles
away.
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
positive
and
kind
attitude.
Can't
wait
to
meet
you
when
I
come
back
to
Portland
to
visit
my
family!
