Even though this temple is only 13 years old, i loved it for the location, peace, family time and more importantly less crowd. There is no line for VIP, managed privately hence all donations go to the temple maintenance only. There are 1007 Shiva Lingam around the main Shiva deity. Every deity is of Enormous structure and majestic beauty. There are 7 layers of the hillock. Vinayagar, Perumal, Ashta Lakshmi, Ayyappan, Anjaneyar, 6 padai Murugan and Shiva and Raja Rajeshwari as we climb up one layer to another. Such beauty all over the hillock. Parking area separate. Vehicle allowed to drop old people on top layer and allowed to come back. Parking sepately provided near entrance.

Amazing place it is! We have 1008 Shiva Lingas there. All these Shiva Lingas have their own small temples, their own Nandi facing towards them and also a havankund. It also has a Ganapati temple along with the temples of other Gods. There is one very big Shiva Linga in the center of all the Shiva Lingas.

Good worship place. Cherish the Bhakti with 1008 Lingaa, Big Shiva Temple, Perumal Temple and other allied group of Temples..More vegetation filled with variety of trees, shrubs, flowering plants and Herbal Plants too..

1008 shivalingas are here along with other temples. Would suggest to approach the temple by taking left on a road next to it Approach it from the back if you are coming by car. If you are lucky you will see the elephant as well.

Must visit Temple in Salem, it's a small cliff with shrines scattered 360 degrees, you can access with car and bike but walking gives you a nice experience with 1008 lingams around it

This is a great place to go. But the thing is there are timings to see big Shivan. Till 12pm and will reopen at 4pm. Slippers are allowed so you don't have to leave it before climbing the mountain and vehicles are allowed too.

Great that we visited this place in salem, this is like a mountain, and in each layer there are shiva linga in small gopura, also on top there is devi mandira, and layer wise we have shiva, hanuman, rama, ganesh, govinda temple and many more. Walk around and experience is good. We will get to visit and vership all god at one place and good positive vibe.

No words to describe the structure of 1008 Shivlingams,so beautiful and great temple too in the hilltop,....only problem is,we won't be able to worship all the Lingams for which lot of energy is needed..but we can worship the 108 Lingams instead...

Nice temple to reach with a small drive from Salem.. Temple is always free and calm.. Big Shiva statue and many smaller statues around the temple will keep you feel amazed. Best time would be early morning or evening before sun set. Recently cars were not allowed to climb the small hill and asked to park down.

I was in salem for a day (I was on way from calicut to Puducherry). I wanted to visit place in salem. This temple is really great. Pandits are very helpful.

Good place to visit once. The main shiv Lingappa is extremely huge. Good parking. But I couldn’t find washrooms. All boards are in Tamil and people don’t speak any other language other than Tamil which is a centuries old issue in TN, thus one star less, rest all good

People who have to plan accordingly to see all 1008 Shiva Lingam.. There is no other place in the world where the idol of Brahman (பிரம்மா - God who created us) is found. After the Shiva Lingam in the Tanjore Big Temple, here is the biggest Shiva lingam statue you have ever seen.. And here there is Everyone born in the 90's knows about the Raja Rajeshwari series, that Raja Rajeshwari temple is not seen anywhere else in the world like here and millions of eyes want to see it. Shouldn't take Photos on any of these..

Beautiful, must go.. They closed the temple much before 8..so ensure u reach there at least by 6 to walk around and pray to each lingam.. Maintenance work is happening near some of the idols.

You can pass 2-3 hours visiting this beautiful temple when you are visiting Salem as a tourist. It is one of the best places to visit in Salem. There are 1008 Siva lingams, some Murugan temples, and a Perumal temple. You can see the tremendous Siva lingam on the top of the hill. And I enjoyed that the monkeys are climbing the temples & sitting near the lingams. Finally, each Siva lingam has a name. It is an amazing thing I had seen.

Located 10 km (Salem to Coimbatore Highway) from salem Bus stand. There is a Siva Temple, Perumal Temple and seperate places for most for Tamil gods. You get relax and peaceful. At noon it will be hot so you can visit in morning or evening and during (01.00 PM to 04.00PM) temple will be closed, but you cam visit those 1008 sivalingas at that time

I'M lover of Lord murugan...I have crossed this temple around 100 times but for the first time I went inside... surprisingly I saw murugan statue ..I'm so blessed to see that..not a single murugaaaaaa is there..there are around 6 murugaaaaaa placed continuously..and one muruga is placed separately ...love to visit that place too often...

Beautiful temple located on the outskirts of Salem. This temple has 1008 lingams. It is well maintained by the temple management. The main lingam sanctum is located on top of a small hill. Its a delight to watch. Slippers can be worn till the top. The temple closes at 12PM and reopens at 3:30PM. A must visit. I highly recommend this place when visiting Salem.
