One of the best places. It's both religious aswell as good Hiking. Weekdays n weekends very less # of people climb the hill. During auspicious days like Parotasi days lakhs of people climb the hill and offer prayers. Total 3600 steps are there, it takes arround 2 to 3 to reach the top. Beware of monkeys and carry water n juices. Nothing is available on while ascending the hill on ordinary days. Very peaceful full temple with more than 2000yrs of history.

Nainamalai varadaraja perumal temple is one of ancient temples in tamilnadu and it is believed that the temple was constructed during the pallava period. The hill top temple can be reached by climbing 3500 steps and purattasi month of all Saturdays will be very special to visit perumal. Remember 2 -3 hours may need to reach the top and ensure not carrying much load and try to start early in the morning at 5 AM. Carry a water bottle and little snacks and you won't be able to find any rest place or water or toilet facilities once you started hill climbing. It is a calm green environment all around fresh air. , Beware of monkeys while climbing the hill and a bunch of monkeys will try to snatch food. Car we can park at the (adivaram) base of temple hill.

Toughest climb...steps are very small for an avg person and they are two steep...easily 2 to 3hrs one way...!getting down is much tougher than climbing...no cellphone tower..not adivisable for older people...gotta appreciate pallavas for building such a magnificent temple at the top...worth going all the way to the top...not adivisable to walk in the evenings esp after 4..as it is impossible to get down before sunset and there are no lights...pallavas have built 4000 steps and a temple 1500 years before..but this pathetic govt could not even put lights...it ll take ages to build roads...

Our kula deivam temple, we are whatever today only because of Varadharajapuram Perumal. My husband and I have climbed up twice to see our god and he has blessed us with abundance. We are happy and healthy only because of him. Govinda Govinda🙏

Awesome place must visit. During the Tamil month of Puratassi (Mid-September to Mid-October) there will be Lakhs of devotees visit this temple and there will be a huge crowd i.e. particularly on Saturdays which are special. This hill and the temple on top can be seen from long distance. Very beautiful. Sthala virutcham of this temple is Nelli Tree (Indian Gooseberry or Amla). You could see a small temple for Kuvalayavalli Thayar and the other main temple for Varadaraja Perumal, both on top. Along with Varadaraja perumal, Sreedevi, Poodevi are seen.

Hill climbing was difficult, it take 2 - 3 hours time to reach temple in the top. Drinking water facility are not available on the way, so you should take atleast 2 litre on your hand The view form the hill top is totally worth
