Loved the coffee little Cafe setup, but was confused if it was coffee or dining. Well...It is both! Order at the counter and sit down. I go the empanadas that exploded with chicken. I loved the light sauce with it, too. Also, I got the salad with nice fresh apples! I would have liked to have seen like a lunch combo. The price was $22 with an Iced tea. They also have a rewards program, so have a receipt emailed to you, and it enrolls you. Nice and easy! Little chilly on a cold door with the door opening and closing. They could use a door blower curtain. Sam helped me with a half eggnog and half nonfat milk latte. Also, Sam recommended the keylime tart. He was dead on as this is a nice snack.

La Qchara has it all Great Atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and an amazing menu selection with something for everyone very reasonably priced. I’ve been coming here for years and I only wish I lived closer. The owners treat you like family and go over and beyond to make sure everything is just right. I Highly recommend giving them A try!

Delicious dining any time of day. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Super friendly service - order at counter then they bring to your table

Great spot for breakfast/lunch, warm beverages, and pastries. The breakfast empanadas were delicious and my torta was spot on. The hot chocolate was a little small but very tasty. We ordered a muffin and a pastry to-go so we could enjoy more later!

I usually come here after my workouts, and it is an excellent place to relax. The environment is excellent and food is top notch. I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but what I have tried I would highly recommend, including the tea cakes, key lime tart, the Limonana and Pabellon Criollo.

Great arepas. Great dishes. The pastries are also very good. For what it is this place is super pricey. $53 for two meals and a pastry item

I heard about this place from a friend so I stopped by to grab an espresso on a Sunday morning around 9a. Clearly this is a local favorite as folks were sitting outside and inside it was pretty busy. The interior was very clean and very cool with the hanging lights. I was greeted at the counter by a lovely girl who took my order. There were a lot of tempting food options but sadly I had already eaten breakfast. Looking around at the tables, the portions were quite large and the food looked great. My espresso was VERY good - they use great beans as it was much smoother than Starbucks or Cafe Nero. Loved the cup too! I will definitely return with my appetite and friends to try the food (not just breakfast). I definitely recommend trying out this local spot. Good to know: plenty of parking on the street and by the train tracks on the side of the building. They also take Apple Pay. Available indoor and outdoor seating (small cafe tables) on the sidewalk.

Placed order at counter to dine in. Single order. Owner chatted w party of 8 and ignored me. There was a couple eating outside. Though I received my coffee order in a to go cup, I watched carry out orders get picked up and placed in the carry out orders and after 20 minutes and no one telling me the status of my order, I walked up to the counter to cancel my order. I really wanted tostada francesa as I saw in Phantom Gourmet but, I will go to another restaurant instead.

This place REALLY disappointed me and my family with flavorless cachapas with lots of cilantro on top of it, never seen before! Who put cilantro on a cachapa? LOL!! and barely cheese on them when they are supposed to be very cheese, terrible chicken soup with canned chicken chunks when you are expecting chicken bones for a good broth that arrived after the entrees, no wait staff, you have to order the food from the front desk, every single drink we ordered had like club soda or seltzer (dragon lemonade, papelon con limón and horchata) really disgusting drinks diluted with sparkling water, shredded beef not actually shredded, yellow rice for a pabellon that actually goes with white rice, the Worst cole slaw EVER in the word, these people really focus on not serving good food. If you are South American like we are, just don’t go. I got the feeling that the cooks are not even Latin American and that’s probably why.. good thing is that the tequenos were the only thing we can rescue. Not trying to hurt anybody here but I had to leave this review and of course, never coming back to this place. Thank you.

The best tapas in the area. Don’t waste your time going to Boston. This place is way better than north End. Espresso martini is my favorite. They have many gluten free options. Highly recommended.

I love Qchara. It’s great to find a place that is delicious and feels like a great value. You can spend $20-$30 for a very filling meal and drink of your choice. Their meats and plantains are very very good.

The food is delicious but we were a bit disappointed by receiving 4 small piece of Yuca fries that we ordered as side. Some menu items have the fries already that I understand 4 pieces is acceptable but when you order as an extra item, we were expecting more than 4 pieces ( pic that we took once we open the box is attached )

This place keeps growing on me. Love the breakfast burrito and yuca fries. The food is fresh and yummy. Today, I had the Mexican burrito and yuca fries. It was all very tasty, especially the aioli. Pictured is a bowl with salmon. Thanks!

This is a fantastic spot for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon coffee and snack. Their lattes and pastries are delicious. It is the main hub of the Highlands area and always has locals hanging out. We love "The Q"! My only (minor) complaint is that they started to put a stamped logo on their paper cups last year. The ink inevitably gets on my hand no matter how much i try to avoid it. I wish they would use mugs for non-takeout orders and stop putting the stamps on takeout coffee.

Great food, including the pancakes, but don't come if you're in a rush. Feels like a happy place.

Hello! I used to order the Vegetarian Burrito served over rice instead of in a tortilla, with yuca fries. I have a gluten allergy, but I never felt good after eating it so eventually I stopped going :(. Please let me know if something in the entree has gluten or is cross contaminated. Would love to be able to eat here even with my allergy!

A gem in Melrose! Fantastic Almond-milk latte and delicious coffee cake! Many customers seem to enjoy the cozy atmosphere here. The baristas are wonderful.

The catering order was great for a rehearsal dinner we were hosting! The food was excellent. All of our guests loved it! The portions were good and at a fair price. The driver was helpful and courteous.

One of our favorite spots nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Prices might be high, but it’s definitely worth it! I’ve had some of the best Venezuelan food and this is one of the places that absolutely kills it! You will not be disappointed, the staff is also so friendly and they leave out a little dog bowl of water which my dog loves when we walk by

I always stop by when I am grocery shopping in the area. The horchata and smoothies are refreshing and delicious. The portobello mushroom quesadillas are my favorite staple item on the menu. The dulce de leche cake is authentic and fantastic but the coffee beans for garnish are quite difficult to chew so be careful.

Great little spot for coffee or a bite to eat. I usually order the same tasty dish (Venezuelan Benedicts ) and it doesn’t disappoint.

I grew up in the boarder region, so am very familiar with Latin and and Mexican food, and I was VERY hesitant to try this spot in Melrose, MA of all places. But it is very very good. Breakfast tacos and burrito are very tasty and perfectly sized. Will come back no doubt. Highly recommend!

I just left there 12/29 at 130. The owner/manager female was taking photos of pictures I assume for a website. I came in on my 30 minute break for soup. Had to leave half my order because the soup took thirty minutes and the smoothie still wasn't done...rude. Don't go here if you're on your lunch break.

Overall, it's an okay place. The ceiling decor is a little tasteless. It is an okay place for white Americans to have a little, unauthentic taste of Colombia. Food is overpriced but tasty. Their coffee is really good.

Disappointing. We have ordered from them before and the food was alright. This time we went to the restaurant. The sweet plantains were tasty but cold when we got them, the tostones were significantly overcooked, hard as a rock. My husband ordered Venezuelan Benedicts which were ok flavour wise, but the amount of food was very small. The arepas were small and hard. I ordered a reina pepiada arepa and that was the best of all. The arepa was a big and had plenty of filling (although it could have used a bit more avocado). I also ordered a Cachapa con queso to go and it was good as well. Overall, very disappointing.

I always feel like at home in there. Today they were SUPER nice to my son and help him to have a special moment for his birthday. Plus the food is awesome.

👍👍 Stop here on your road trip!! I had to leave a review with good pics because I feel like this spot needs more credit. Pasta salad, fried pickles, and sandwiches were delicious and such a great alternative than eating the fast food options around here. Cute gifts, fresh food, coffee, smoothies, lo...
