Had a great dinner during my time in Manchester, the range of starters we had were amazing followed with the mains which looked divine. And finished the dessert with the chocolate volcano and a passion fruit meringue pie. Staff were also very friendly and would definitely recommend to eat here!

Such a lovely place by the canal with a great atmosphere. Went with my partner for a day date the lunch menu has two courses for £14.95 small price but great quality! Food was delicious and the cocktails were very tasty. Service was excellent.

Came in a Wednesday night. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. After 10min waiting, I could order. I asked how long it would take for the main to arrive and I've been told 15min...I only ordered a slow-cooked lamb shoulder, a sparkling water, a glass of Malbec and some bread to wait. Got the bread quite fast. Then I had to ask for my sparkling water and got the Malbec with it. 50min later the waiter understands some disappointment, he ask me if the house can offer me a drink and that my dish will arrive in 3min. Got my second large Malbec and the lab 4min later. It smells bad, like an old unseasoned lamb, the one you don't want to eat. I gave it a try, the outside was almost crunchy, some parts of the inside was acceptable but unseasoned. The waitress saw my distress, when I notified her that it was dry, she told me that for some customers they give more sauce...is it a joke?! it was just a slooooow over cooked lamb shoulder...never again please! Cherry on top, I left the restaurant at 21h54...couldn't even find a decent place open to have a desert.

A great pub in the heart of castlefield. The flowing canal beside the restaurant gives the mesmerising view. With some great gluten free beer and a great service.

Busy Saturday evening, went in for a spontaneous drink. It was full to the brim. The hostess gave us a nice little table where we had fish and chips and a spicy sausage pizza. Very tasty cuisine. Classy interior with velvet seats, mirrors and lots of greenery. It can get pretty rowdy with the music playing and people chatting away so if you want a quiet evening, I wouldn't choose this place as it seems to be very popular.

I came for my birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Amazing staff who were more than helpful, with food arriving very quickly. The food was incredible and none of the party could fault it. Would 100% recommend for any occasion.

Delicious steaks! Second visit in the summer they were really full and disorganised. We booked a table for 1915 but only got seated at 2010 after waiting for ages. Got our food at 2110 when many people have left and one of us had to eat in a rush as he got a train to catch. The drama continued with a discrepancy when paying but the server was really patient in entertaining us though it was past 2200 and finally we got to pay after a long discussion about the complimentary drinks that a manager gave us as a compensation who already left without informing the cashier. In short, Albert should've hired more staff for busy times like this.

Amazing place. First but not last visit definitely. Lovely atmosphere, nice music, menu and drink card had plenty of choice. Highly recommended as solo, couple or even family place to enjoy

Had the lunch time menu, I had 3 courses, rabbit, steak and cheesecake, mum had steak and cheesecake. Food was really lovely, at a reasonable price. We were seated straight away, despite no reservation, and the service was very good

What happened?? This is normally a great place. Went for my wife’s 60th on Saturday 21st May and what a disaster and how disappointed we were. It ruined my wife’s special day. My wife had iBs so needs to eat early. We booked the table for 6.45 and arrived at 6.30 to give them time to get us seated. We got taken into the restaurant at 7.10pm. We were given menus and nobody came back to take our orders, so we had to grab somebody from reception, they took our order and the starters arrived at 7.40 no issues not big portions so they came and cleared everything by 7.55 at 8pm the waiter came and asked if we were ready for our mains and we said yes. At 8.30 mains had not arrived and waiter came over asking if we would like to order deserts, we told him we had not had the mains yet, he disappeared. During this time nobody came to ask if we would like drinks we had to go and get a staff member to take our drinks order. 8.45 still no mains we complained that we had been waiting a long time, they went to check and apologised. 9pm still no mains we complained again, eventually they arrived at 9.15 ( one and a half hours after the starters) my wife left hers as it was to late to eat, mine was cold and hot all our mains were just poor, it was as if they had lost our ticket then rushed to make it. They knocked £60 of the bill, but in my opinion not enough. The whole experience on my wife’s special day was poor, from the staff to the food. I am not saying the place is bad as I would imagine on another day it may be different, but neither me, my friends or family will be taking the chance to go again.

Absolutely loved it here. Our first visit of many to come. Superb, friendly and efficient service, very tasty food - lovely crunchy vegetables, and a atmosphere that was welcoming and relaxed. Highly recommended.

Went in and it was quite busy. The food was mediocre, the stuffed chicken mascarpone was nice, steak was a bit well cooked. Rabbit starter looked nice and people seemed to enjoy it I've observed that the staff was rushing us a bit and threw the menu onto the table, and music was a little loud.

Spontaneous visit for a Wednesday lunch in the middle of January so it was very quiet there. Nevertheless, service and food were excellent and very good value for the fixed menu - a vegetarian linguine, grilled chicken, an Erin Mess which was delightful and a chocolate volcano with almond ice cream. The almond was a first and a surprise! The staff are very efficient and friendly. It will be good to go back again soon - especially if it is warm enough to enjoy the open air terrace! Thank you, Albert's!

We sat in the outdoor area and the weather was superb. Staff were nice and friendly. Food was decent and not expensive. My friend and I ordered a bottle of processco and a few bottles of beer and some food. I had a relaxing afternoon there!

Waited over an hour to get a drink and place our order. Then had another long wait for food. Group of 20 people who had a reservation, and food order was confirmed the week before from the set menu. Collected from couples money to pay the bill and then told there was an an extra £40 service charge. Supposed to be discretionary. Most of our group had left by then so the remaining people ended in having to pay. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OR RETURN.

we had food from the Early Bird Menu. I had a Sausage and Mash as a starter! it was fantastic. I had a pizza for mains, and very happy with it. my wife order wasn't quite as good, but no real complaints. if ordering outside the offer, i feel like it was a little prices, but to be fair, its a lovely place

After having a terrible dining experience in August (bank holiday weekend) we were invited back to experience a taste of the "real" Albert Shed. And to our delight they did not disappoint! We were greeted by the well presented and polite hostess Kelsey who seated us. We were then taken care of for the rest of the evening by Harvey who was an absolute pleasure to meet. His service was without fault, very personable and attentive even though the restaurant was busy. The dishes were delicious and would definitely recommend the WILD MUSHROOM & MASCARPONE STUFFED CHICKEN [GF] and any of the desserts as we had three (STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING [V] [GFO], BLUEBERRY & ALMOND FRANGIPANE TART [V] and Ice cream Sunday! As it was a special birthday celebration we enjoyed a bottle of prosecco too and would like to thank Hannah and the new management for this wonderful experience. We will definitely be back soon! Would recommend for date night, family gatherings and special occasions.

Bruschetta starter was delightful. I love the flavour explosion and wish I had more. Steak was lovely. Cooked medium-rare to perfection. So we're the chips. The peppercorn sauce was tasty, although I wish it had more substance to it. I also wish that we received chips as standard plus veg. Had a choice between two sides. Then there were extras. I feel that chips and veg should be a standard, to then decide what extras you want. But that's just me. I was disappointed when offered puddings. As there was no savoury option. I'm really not a sweet toothed person, so I went for the most neutral option. The cheesecake was well made, but far too sweet for me. I can't knock it though, this is just my personal taste and bias for savoury options. Give me cheese scones and marmite and I'll be happy. Service wise, staff were most pleasant and professional. They regularly checked on us and we're keen to talk about the menu options.

Absolutely Lovely Food and the Service was excellent. It was my first time at Alberts and I will definitely becoming back. We was served by Lee-Ann who couldn’t do enough for us even though there was quite a lot of us there for a family meal she was very on the ball excellent

This restaurant went way beyond the extra mile to accommodate my co-diner's medical dietary requirements. The staff were not only attentive to all our needs, they were authentically interested in us. The food was great, and even between courses someone came to talk about the next course and what they could do to accommodate us. Brilliant evening!

We have dined here several times and enjoyed it. Today, we ate here again and have no complaints about the quality of the food. One half of the staff were very attentive, but the other half were standing around talking to each other and not noticing our signals to request the dessert menu when our main course plates were still not cleared away. We also had trouble when asking for the bill. The main problem we came across was that when our main courses were served, the plates were cold. Therefore, cold plates...cause the food to go cold very quickly. This is a basic fault we find in many restaurants but complaining would not have solved the problem as we were hungry and were not prepared to wait further, this is the reason I have reduced the stars on this review. I recommend that if you are dining here, you should check the plates first as this may influence your decision as to whether to proceed or not. It's a shame that this very nice restaurant made this basic mistake as otherwise the evening would have been very pleasant...and yes, it would benefit everyone by training the waiting staff in being a little more attentive. Having said that, there were some waiting staff that were very good at their job.

The food is so good, everything I've had here has been delicious. The beef OMG. Both the pulled beef dish and the ribeye steak were so tender. Lovely decor, nice classy place down on the canal. Only loses a star as the service has been poor. The welcome is great but we've been unlucky each time with servers who were a bit disorganised.

Really nice restaurant to sit outside and have a relaxing lunch. Foods was excellent, wine list varied and reasonably priced. Best of all we were not rushed from our table.

Fabulous all round. All the staff were really friendly, attentive and helpful - they were lovely! The food was fabulous and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside (in the shade) and we enjoyed every minute of it. We'll definitely go back.

Cool atmosphere by the canal, lots of people and great vibes. It was very windy so we didn't stay long. Ordering food is easy and it arrived well before the estimated time. Staff was nice!

I recently attended a wedding at the venue and was left very disappointed by the service provided. Initially, things seemed well organised; guests were directed to a small private area for a drinks reception and guided to the room for ceremony. After the photos, we again had access to the private balcony for further drinks. Things started to go wrong when we were invited back the main room for the speeches and wedding breakfast. Having served our starters at approximately 17:30 we didn't receive our deserts till well after 20:00. It was quite obvious the event was understaffed. Furthermore, the standard of the food was very hit and miss; a measly portion of soup was followed by one of the worst burgers I've endured in my life. It must have been sitting in a hotplate all afternoon as by time it was served, it was completely dry. It was difficult to discern if it was even meat! The hot desert came luke warm and given the delays in service, the evening guests had to wait to join the reception. Whilst the staff who were working did their best, they were not only shorthanded but in some cases lacking the expierence to run bar. I received a gin and tonic in a wine glass and had to ask for lemon. It's really disappointing for the couple getting married that Albert Shed had let them down so badly with staffing the event. Weddings cost thousands of pounds and the venue new how many guests would be in attendance. I would not recommend any future couples using here for their wedding.

Cannot fault a single aspect of this place. All members of staff from start to finish were exemplary. Cinnamone was our server and she was naturally helpful and effortlessly attentive. The food was outstanding and a fantastic atmosphere. We will definitely be back 🙏🏻👌🏻

Sunday roast was really tasty but I could have managed a bit more on the accompaniments side, great flavours though. The young guy who served us I dont know his name but he was a credit to the venue, excellent service!!

The manager (Goda) was very professional and the food was good. Our family of four had a lovely day out, which was a welcome experience following a previous visit where staff levels were low. We look forward to our next visit.
