A fantastic place to dine in. I must advise to book in advance if you want to go over the weekend as they do get extremely busy. I ordered a 7inch tear and share garlic bread and a 10inch classic deep dish pizza. Superb to even look at and so delicious. Definitely for crazy crazy cheese lovers! 🧀 The staff are also very accommodating to children. They provide high chairs and also colouring sheets and crayons to keep them busy whilst waiting. Oh and try the apple mojito- so refreshing!!!!! 10/10. A lovely dining experience. So glad I have finally tried their pizza pies 🥧..highly recommend to all x

Really amazing pizzas - proper cheesy and does what it says - classic deep dishes! Staff were so lovely, really helpful and the food was very tasty! Only downfall was our dough knots which were not very flavoursome but the pizza and cheesiness made up for it!!

The food here is absolutely divine. So so yummy and plenty of choice. The restaurant gets far too hot, and that’s in November so dread to think how it feels in summer. Also I dislike the “discretionary service charge” that’s automatically added to your bill at £9 odd! And a further £1 for “carbon free dining”. Making you look tight if you ask them to remove the tip. Usually tip anyway but leaves a sour taste when it’s forced and at nearly £10!

The food is presented very well and the portions are generous and filling. But our sauce on the pizza just tasted like pasta sauce. Pizzas we have had elsewhere have not reminded us of pasta sauce. We expected the sauce to be slightly sweet and have a tang but it did not at all which is why we are reviewing this at 3 stars. The mozarella sticks were fantastic and the ketchup they have is great too. The garlic cheese pizza was disappointing too, no taste of garlic, but I suppose that could be down to preference. It is definitely worth visiting, the atmosphere is good and the service was okay but you need to book, we were turned away once due to not having a booking.

Loved the tater tots, and while this is the closest I've seen to deep dish in the UK, it was a bit too cheesy for my tastes (sorry, cheese lovers). At one point I was fighting against the chewy (but delicious) mozzarella. Would recommend giving it a go, but be mindful for that even a small one is a lot of food. Staff dead lovely.

The same amazing taste as eating a pizza pie in the USA! They're messy (especially if you hand ball them like me), mouth watering and delicious! They're filling too.. I easily do 14 inch pizzas in regularly and one of these 7 inch Pies along with a side had me full to the brim. The service was also really good and didn't have to wait too long for the food to come. Only downside is no draft beer but they do have a decent range of cans. I'll definitely be back and I'd recommend adding the honey sauce to any pizza to make it that bit more different.

Great food. We had eyes bigger than stomach and took food home. The food is divine. The pizzas rich, cheesy and juicy. The tater tots were fabulous, topped with either buffalo chicken or slow roasted beef short rib (and the gravy!!) Not cheap but highly recommended. They were turning away walk ins as its a small venue l, so book in advance in recommended

The food here is pretty nice, the menu is original and gives options for the dishes you don’t usually come across which is great. The pizza pie was pretty nice and cheesy. Perhaps the dough lacked a bit of flavour compared to other deep dish pizza places I have been, but it’s still very good! The Boursin and jalapeño dough balls could have been amazing because the dough was so soft and delicious, and the cheese worked so well, however it’s such a shame that the jalapeño were a bit too overpowering and it ended up being too spicy for my taste. The deep fried lamb birria lasagne was alright but lacked a bit of flavour in my taste. However the pulled lamb birria itself was so good, I really enjoyed that. The staff were very friendly and although it took a bit of time, everything arrived warm and perfectly made. The service charge and donation that’s automatically added to the bill put me off a little bit as you don’t expect it but I guess it is what it is.

Came here (whilst on a work trip) after seeing various food bloggers raving about it. Did I enjoy it, yes, was the food as good as I expected, starter yes main no. The fried lasagne to start was really good, moist and full of full flavour, sadly the main course, the short rib “doughrito” was quite dry and when adding the gravy I found it overly salty. Would I return, definitely, but next time I’d try a standard pizza or maybe their loaded tots. Service was great though and my waitress was super friendly and helpful

I have wanted to go here for ages and now I finally have I am in now way disappointed. The front of house team were really nice and happy to explain how it worked. There was 3 of us as we ordered, the Deep Fried Lasagne which was delicious, the 4 cheese spring rolls which were also amazing. We ordered two 7 inch pizzas the Just Meat and the Pepperoni bit were delicious and huge. We also ordered the buffalo chicken tater tots which is a huge portion. Everything was great and really would recommend it

A word to use is 'surprisingly filling'. They are deep, gooey cheese certified and tasty - this is for the iconic pizza pies. Already cut into 4 for an easy share aspect. Definitely recommend, we would probably try their tacos to see what that noise is about if we get the chance to visit again.

This place has been on my list of places to visit for a while night and managed to get there recently. Staff are great and welcoming and explain the concept to a first-time visitors. The restaurant is smaller than I expected but not a bad thing! The staff recommended 2 starters and 2 pizzas for our group of three, we ordered slightly more than this and left stuffed. Everything was excellent but special shout out to the Tater Tots with Garlic Butter and the 'Meat One' Pizza.

Tasty deep dish pizzas and tater tots. Good quick friendly service. Not quite 5 star for me but I think that's a personal preference of pizza type (preferring a wood fired pizza now I've tried both). If you want a deep dish Chicago pizza this is the place to go. We shared a 7" pizza and a side between two of us and just about managed that so definitely don't over-order (big portions!)

Great experience and the service was fantastic, the Mozarella wedges were amazing as a starter, but be aware the pizzas are cheese heavy, so maybe won't order a cheese starter next time. The pizzas are very filling and a 7 inch was perfect between 2 people with 2 starters. Good value and nice decor, would recommend

We expected another menu based on the images from google maps but it turns out that the breakfast sharing item was from another branch. The cheese was melted well and the pepperoni and tomato sauce was not too salty, one of the best Chicago pizzas I have had in the UK. The staff were slightly abrasive but all in all our experience was fantastic. That’s why I give 5 stars.

As good as it gets tbh. Very indulgent for pizza though which isn't their fault however they say pizza serves 1 and even that is a push😂. This place was turning away more people than it served by about triple due to its small size and after tasting it its easy to see why. Anything with the brewski name associated with it slaps hard

Absolute must try in Manchester. Hunted this place down after I was recommended it by multiple people and I was not disappointed. The waitress was so friendly and even told us that the 4 of us could probably get away with 3 mains as the portion sizes were really big. Everything they served us was incredible.

Sweet dreams are made of cheese…! My second time visiting American Pies and it is a pizza place like no other! The deep dish pizzas are unreal, unfortunately we were too full to finish ours due to the insane starters we also had! Luckily they have takeaway boxes! The people creating the menu have a vivid imagination and come up with some crazily delicious food, the Boursin spring rolls were out of this world. The drinks menu is a little flat, there’s no draught beer either. The service was good, very attentive but it’s a tiny place really. The only thing I would say is the atmosphere isn’t quite perfect, it’s too bright, too open, the music level etc - it doesn’t take away too much but when asked, I couldn’t quite give it five stars.

First time visiting - we went for a meat pie and buffalo chicken pie, both very nice! Garlic tots also very nice and go well with the pizza pies! Nice atmosphere as the room is quite small and all the tables were always full! The toilets, having to queue near the kitchens for a single toilet - need more toilets! Also, automatically forcing people to tip and the 99p carbon charge is a bit odd - especially when you don’t get told it’s been added to your bill.

The food was beautiful 😍 Best place we've ever had pizza at, the tater tots with short rib were beautiful. It was my birthday and I got a free drinks voucher which was a nice gesture. It did take a long time for food to reach us It dress say 30 mins wait on the menu but pretty sure it was longer than that. The wait was definitely worth it the only slightly off putting thing is that the tables are so close together so your almost back to back with people. We would visit again and the servers are lovely and are attentive . There's a random 99p charge for carbon as it says they plant trees with the charge but this should be an option not forced to pay this.

My god, what can I say. 10 out of 10! Had the tater tots and 7" double pepperoni pizza. I am absolutely filled to the brim. It is epic! Definitely get a 7" to yourself it is filling, and absolutely phenomenal. I WILL be coming back 100%

Very, very nice indeed!! Visited American Pies recently for the first time. We’ve been here before when it was just Brewskis, even though still a part of Brewskis, it now specialises in good, traditional, authentic pizza. We had the Chicago Afternoon Tea between us and it was more than enough for the both of us, we even ended up bringing a box away with us with what we left. The selection of pizza “pies” are varied and all tastes are covered. Please be advised though, that as all of the pies here are made from fresh, be prepared to wait for your order. Don’t get me wrong, the guys here try to get you your order as quickly as they can, but you can’t rush a well made pie. We waited about 40 minutes for our order, which looks to be the norm here, but be rest assured, it is worth the wait. I can only comment on the Chicago afternoon tea, as that is all we had on this visit. It’s good, very nice indeed. If you are considering having this option though, I’d recommend getting a side order of slaw as well, as the afternoon tea is quite cheese heavy, so you need something to help balance it out. If you’re ever in the Piccadilly area of Manchester and fancy some good eats washed down with a cocktail, I’d recommend giving this place a go.

Excellent establishment. Made us feel welcome, food was so wholesome and delicious. The best deep dish pizzas in Manchester. Highly recommend. Thank you for the pleasant dining experience. Halal meat options served here.

Food was incredible!!! So much so we wanted to try multiple dishes/courses. Had a starter each, another to share then a main. Ordered the full sized deep dish pepperoni, and only managed a slice each so we could squeeze in dessert. Planned to take the pizza to have later, but forgot it, boxed up on our table. This will forever be one of my biggest regrets 😭 We will most certainly be back!

Visited American Pies Mcr as a late Valentine day meal and it didn’t disappoint! Chicago themed restaurant with a slight Canadian twist. On our visit we ordered the Ski Sharer, which was essentially a tapas board full of multiple things from the menu. My only negative was they served bottled beers which was kind of warm! We really enjoyed the meal and would definitely visit again. The waiter who was serving us that night was really friendly and created a great atmosphere. However one of the women members of staff didn’t give off a great vibe, wasn’t friendly or welcoming

An amazing small place in the heart of Manchester serving original ideas. The food is delicious, and as for the service staff were very helpful and welcoming since the time we arrived. We tried the fondue, and I'd definitely recommend it if you love cheese. In general, this restaurant is a must visit for any food lover that finds themselves in Manchester. All the best, and we'll be back again soon.

First time here, had the deep fried lasagne bites, mozzarella triangles, buffalo chicken tater tots, and garlic bread. The lasagne bites were awesome, definitely get these. The garlic bread wasn't very good: the base was more like a crispy biscuit and it was so thin the cheese turned to rubber in seconds of arriving. The mozzarella triangles weren't hot enough so the cheese inside wasn't melted at all, so it was just like munching blocks of mozzarella. I'd skip the garlic bread and the mozzarella triangles. The buffalo chicken tater tots were both good, and bad. The buffalo sauce was great, and very spicy (Nandos hot level for comparison), but the ranch sauce being a vinegary sauce gave it a bit of a weird contrast with it's bitterness. So if you order them: ask for one sauce or the other, both is just odd. Sauce choice aside: the chicken and the tater tots themselves tasted great though. All in all it was £56 for one great dish, one ok dish, and two disappointments. Some of the awesome Instagram photo choices have been taken off the menu sadly. For the cost we'd have preferred lunch at Wagamamas or Yo Sushi or even TGI Fridays, where all the dishes are reliably fantastic. But we probably will try here again, though with much more curated choices and sauces next time. Staff were all super nice and friendly 👍

My first time trying Deep Dish pizza and my mind was blown! Amazing pizza that was delicious. 5 stars is not enough for this place. If you are in Manchester definitely give it a go.

  • 3/5 Jonny F. 1 year ago on Google
We liked the sides, sauces and starters better than the pizza. The pizza is surely meant to be the star of the show though… The base and crust were too doughy and overwhelmed the filling. If they could up their pizza game this place would be a 5 star. Service could also be improved, it was pretty slow despite the place being small so only a few covers.

Great staff, great food. Nice different little spin on a pizza. Advice, take the waiters advice. Don't order everything on the menu. The food is deceiving filling. Especially the pizzas. I'm a big 6ft lad and was stuffed.

Menu is wonderful, place is smaller than I thought. Staff very good, mojitos are excellent. Good range on the menu, really enjoyed the cheese spring rolls. The pizza pie was delicious but the taco was overcooked sadly.

I've been to American Pies a few times and I am never disappointed. The staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating answered all out questions. The food was phenomenal as always, the cheese pull wa on point. You will never leave hungry or unsatisfied. They have a selection of cocktails which are also really good!

What a gorgeous little place this is! The food and drink is brilliant, very different. The atmosphere is lovely and the people that work there really look after you.

The staff here were great during our visit, very helpful, friendly and attentive. The selection on the menu is great and everything we saw brought out looked delicious. We went for one of their 'mate date' platters so we could sample a bit of everything and it was superb 👌🏻 I'll definitely be visiting again next time I'm in MCR.

Saw this restaurant trending on tik tok and looked nice and thought we would give it a go.. The lasagne bites were heavenly but our favourite was the chicken tenders.. they were so moist 👌 The pizzas as well were next level as well. I would like to see a draught beer over bottles, but its not a massive venue so it's probably not feasible. Overall, would recommend this to anyone visiting Manchester.

  • 5/5 Stinger 0. 1 year ago on Google
Food outstanding not much more to say it’s definitely worth a try. Deep fried lasagne starter was amazing. Not to keen on the tables for two very small and when you’ve got two blokes who are well over 6 ft tall it does feel a little cramped. Other than that fantastic place.

  • 5/5 Jazz M. 9 months ago on Google
We went to this restaurant after seeing good reviews and I really see why people have said positive things. I had the nduja and goats cheese pizza and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I have had in my life. There is quite a lot of crust due to the shape of the pizzas but the amazing toppings make up for this. The chicken tenders as a starter are also a must have. The food is amazing and the staff are super attentive and helpful but not overbearing. Already want to go back and have already recommended it to others.

Saw this place on Instagram so while on a weekend to Manchester I had to call in and try the delicious looking food for myself. The staff were super friendly from the moment we walked in. Explaining how long certain meals take to cook and answering questions I had on the size of the sharing platter. We started by ordering appetisers which were chicken tenders, potato tots, cheese rolls and deep fried lasagna. We then moved on to ordering some mains when the person taking our order stopped us and asked if we are ok with taking some away with us. I think he assumed we wouldn't be able to eat it all as they were huge portions but we took this as a challenge. Our main dishes were the special which was a giant beef rib wrapped in a garlic bread and covered in cheese as well as a 7 inch pepperoni deep dish. Every dish we ordered looked amazing and matched that with how delicious each item tasted. In the end we left a single slice of pizza which we took back with us and I still felt full the following day. A top restaurant that you must try!

This place looks amazing in photos but if I'm honest the food is just ok. Our starters were cold but very nice. The pizza dough is poor and is only redeemed by the fact it's piled high with toppings. This is the sort of place which is nice to try once but I don't think I will return.

  • 5/5 Simeon M. 5 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
This place is great, a must try in Manchester The food is good, portions sizes are massive; putting a smile on your face for value for money. And if you can't finish it you can take it home 😉 In addition the service and atmosphere is good too. You always have a waiter near who is very knowledgeable about the food served and condiments to accompany the mains.
