Fun hiking spot on the northwest side of town. They accept baby birds and other small critters, but no visitors are allowed in the wildlife rescue building. There are a couple of birds in big cages to view before heading out on the trails. Hikes are short and can be completed within an hour. Before you leave be sure to check out the little museum and gift shop. They also have a bathroom for visitors.

This is a somewhat hidden hiking spot among the more popular Forest Park. The trails make for an easy, casual hike. On the north side of Cornell Road is the main building, gift shop, wildlife care center, and the more interesting trails where you're likely to see many types of birds including Pilate Woodpeckers and some nice valley views. The south side of the road has some longer, steeper hike with more forest views and less wildlife.

Nice gift shop, well-maintained walking trails. Good signage, boardwalks, and bridges over stream crossings. Moderate climbs and some steps. Enjoyed the experience!

Very lush and beautiful trails. Good for a short casual hike. All the trails can easily be covered in less than a couple hours. Please don’t bring your dog as they will disturb the birds.

This is the first time I have taken an injured wild animal to Audobon. An older woman staff member with glasses said the restrooms are located inside the building. The buildings were locked and the lights were out and I ended up peeing outside. I affectionately named this female seagull, Ms. Blackwood, from Top Gun. I prayed with this seagull, I let her hear me sing, I prayed the mysteries. The day Ms. Blackwood, the seagull was injured was an important day for the Seattle Seahawks who ended up with a playoffs eliminating loss 25-24. I imagine the bird was injured just before the end of the game. Interesting. I was hauling my cat after buying some coffee and cat food and came across this heaped pile of feathers, adjusted her to a normal sitting position, felt her wing and discovered some bone poking tough. I tucked the seagull Ms. Blackwood under me arm and got home. I wrapped Ms. Blackwood in a towel and then a ribbon to keep her stable. To prevent further injury. I look forward to being called back to attend the release of Ms. Blackwood into the wild. I did not bring my first wildlife rescue to Audobon Society to have tge animal euthanized. I brought this animal, Ms. Blackwood, the seagull to Audobon Society to be fixed. Alis Volat Propriis

we love bringing our two preschoolers here, wonderful places to explore for them, and seeing the changes during the seasons has been a nice aspect of multiple visits.

Amazing place, feels almost historic. There's much depth to what is there. Gives an impression of well organized. Beware: the road there feels dangerous at times as there can be a lot of traffic with impatient drivers. There's a crosswalk with flashing lights but at busy times, parking then walking along that road with small kids is a high alert situation.

This is a lovely place for a hike with little kids. The terrain is varied enough to keep them interested but the trails are not long. We were lucky enough to spot a large owl and many other small birds. Parking is pretty hard to find on a weekend, so be prepared for that. There are bathrooms in the gift shop!

Didn’t get to see too many live birds, but a raven and a vulture. Was hoping to see more! There were more stuffed real birds and animals in the store though. Pretty walk through the small trails.

Great place to go hiking. The trails arw very well kept and you can easily find parking. It is also nice that the trails there are not too diffucult and will accommodate hikers of all skill levels. You can take as little or as long as you want for your hike. Very beautiful place and cool during the summer heat due to tree cover. Will go there again.

I love fall/winter visits as it is easy to park and trails are not so busy. The rushing water and dropping moss is beautiful too. Our city park spaces are a treasure.

Wonderful place! Great birds and really cool crow. Look at that great blue heron. Awesome! Would highly recommend visiting. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable about avian creatures of all sorts.

Wonderful. We took a baby Western Scrub Jay here. They gave us great hope. We walked the trails and saw what we could. It was just beautiful. I can't wait to go back and see more. My granddaughter was with me as well and had the best time. Pictures don't do it justice

Beautiful peaceful trails abound in this lovely wildlife refuge and ecosystem restoration property. The wildlife rehab center is closed to the public at the moment due to Covid precautions, as are the public restrooms in the visitor center. But the gift shop is now open and there is a porta potty in the Forest Park parking lot, a very short walk from Audobon's parking area. Some trail areas are closed but most are just marked as one-way for now to limit contact with other hikers, and there are easy to spot temporary arrow signs. This place is such a treasure, and having it right in the city is incredible. They have wonderful educational programs, diverse plants to view and often excellent birdwatching on clear days.

Take your preschooler walking along the forest trails and creek at Portland Audubon, and let them watch the birds in the wildlife-rehabilitation area. (Don't miss the main Audubon building, either. Just don't. You'll see why.) Fyi, if you need a rental room, try the Audubon's classroom, which overlooks the forest.

They could do bettered, with their, "know it all," attitude. More impressed with Steph, than with Pamela, for sure!

Helpful staff, with a wide selection at the gift shop. Good maps, and interesting taxidermy. We appreciated meeting the birds.

Nice walking trails, while also getting to enjoy seeing the birds. Also a great place to support.

Lovely place with a lovely gift shop. Saw many northern flickers and downy woodpeckers. Heard tales of even more... I will be returning...

We found a duckling who was being attacked by a crow. There were no other ducks around at the time. The duckling seemed stunned and potentially injured. She seemed to be doing much better over the first two days, but then she almost seemed confused. Our intention was to get her feeling stronger and try to find the momma duck. My friend suggested calling the Audobon Society. We did and I took her there this morning. The lady who met me at the door was friendly and genuinely seemed to care. She told me they had other ducklings in the back and our little duckling would be looked at then be raised with the other ducklings. When they are older and able. They will release them back into the wild. Near where they were found. I am so grateful to know there is such a wonderful organization out there to help our wildlife. As sad as it was to see her go. It made my heart happy knowing she would be with other ducklings. I hope to see our little girl one day back in the neighborhood all grown up.

The trails are nice and the store has lots of items for the bird lover. The rescue center is no longer open to the public. You can see their research Ed great horned owl and kestral along the trail. The only downside is there were many areas and lookouts that were closed for repairs.

A lovely place to visit and cause to support! The forest trails were a respite from the city and absolutely beautiful, and a great selection in their gift shop.
